Us Manga and Anime fans can agree that Live Anime movies pretty much suck lmao
There is good live action, but there all for underground manga like Lone Wolf and Cub, Ichi the Killer or more recently the french live movie of City Hunter who was really great
Gintama and rurouni kenshin live action were pretty good actually

Some animes really compliment to their mangas ,look at Demon Slayer ,a manga with Ok art was turned into an anime with highly praised animation
I really couldn't stand the art after that glorious animation. It's not bad..... But holy shit
@@anirudhankumble3586 basically why I haven't read the aot manga
@@anirudhankumble3586 i mean ,the author still kept on doing her best to improve the art ,by the end altough it still wasn't anything phenomenal ,i'd say it was pretty good
@Ahmad Hussnain But the art has certainly improved now...
@@ahmadhussnain8523 aot really works well as an anime because of the music, the setting and the animation the hype just works positively for it. I'd say the anime is a better experience than the manga but the manga is amazing on itself to enjoy despite the art.
aren't doing any favors to anime showing this homunculus of CGI trowup that is berserks adaptation
cody d Yeah I’d say the only awful Adaptations are that, and maybe some others, but JoJo, and One Punch Man, and Mob have amazing animes well aside from season 2 of One Punch Man, but even that wasn’t that bad.
Dunno why OPM season 2 is so underappreciated. It's just as good if not better than season 1. The only thing it did worse is animation and it's still not bad by any means.
@@Angel-kc7ck its so weird to me that season 2 gets hate for not have godly animation. it was still easily above average animation.
i see people regularly say season 2 was horrrible.
Josh Shrum why is JoJo so praised for it's anime? They ruined the pacing of Part 1 and took away Johnathan's personality, making it that Part 1 is now seen as boring when the manga isnt, Part 3 battles were so stretched out from two or three manga chapters to 40 minute arcs, Part 5 dragged out the middle so much
The CGI is decent
The other version "Why I prefer Doujins VS H3ntai"
Asking the real questions.
Queen Bee that's why!
Doujins no question hentai gets pretty bland after a while
Doujin by far, between sheer amount and actual plot to be found in many, it's just way better.
Hentsi if it is dubbed properly like our favorite succubus
Better art, better story, better character development, no censorship, no filler, no cut content, no dumbing down of dialogue, there's a lot of reasons I prefer comics, manga and books over their television adaptions.
Don’t forget pacing, I could probably watch an arc of one piece but if I spent the same time reading it that I did watching then I could probably finish 2 full arcs or get close to doing so. Also you get better visuals and intensity in fights along with it since you don’t have to deal with bad or slow animation
Not to mention something like jojo where you can get to some of the best parts and characters early instead of having to wait a year or two for it to get animated or have it finish in the anime
@@Gio90210. That's a very good point as well, sometimes the opposite is also true where they'll take a massive arc from a manga and condense it into a rushed, incoherent mess.
The way the 2016 adaption of Berserk tried to cram the entire Black Swordsman Arc, the Guardians of Desire Arc and the Lost Children Arc into a single episode is one of the most extreme and terrible examples of this lol.
there is nothing known as no censorship.....even "dark" manga like berserk, gantz, kingdom and claymore have censorship
Rey 2375 one piece animation is looking good now a days. The only problem at this point is pacing.
@@whyfi8760
Sometimes, comedy series are benefited from being voice-acted...
The quirks by the actors sometimes add more characters.
I usually read i only watch if the adaptation is fantastic like Hxh, or Mob psycho
I think hxh works so good as an anime because instead of the whole page being filled with words you can actually see the fights and dialogue while they walk or something.
I like to do a little bit of both, I'll read something and only watch the show if I hear it's doing super well, but I also watch things and like them so much I read them. An example of that currently is that I'm reading Kaiju no. 8 and Spy family and will only watch their anime adaptations if they are done well, and I just watched Mob Psycho and loved it so now I'm diving into the manga.
edit* I should say Webcomic
@@Brawlnana Yea I love Togashi's work but HxH's 2011 adaptation is without a doubt superior to the manga.
@Maurice Johnson bruh all the cool shit starts to happen after the anime ends

i prefer anime, but i have zero choice but to read manga, because animes dont be finishing
The goat attack on titan will

The Interspecies Reviewer manga of hunterhunter aint finishing either bruh
@Lionard Kirsch plus the anime is sick
Lol same. I don't have patience for some anime. So e anime I will wait for though like AOT, Fire Force, and Demon Slayer.
Pretty much the opposite for me when it comes to what's time consuming. I like reading it slowly. Looking at the artwork, the backgrounds, the expressions of the characters and taking the time to digest the dialogue. Speculate and try to predict what happens next. Trying to analyse certain characters and themes of the story. With the anime, you can of course do all of that as well. But for the pace of how i'm reading, the manga usually takes longer.
I don't like speed reading. Have a friend who does that and he can barely tell the names of the main characters, a lot of the time. For some people, it just seems like they wanna reach the end as fast as possible. I don't really understand how that's enjoyable, but each to their own.
I don't understand it but whenever I read I can't stop myself from wanting to finish it ASAP and rushing through and omg I couldn't read One Piece because i couldn't remember any of the side characters names 😂 had to watch the anime, also my literal Aspergers brain finds the black and white sook fucking hard to discern what's happening in some panels
Bro you have to be writing a book essay for english. That is impressive the only reason why I read slowly is because I'm looking up words sometimes because my japanese is trash but when I can read it I read it fast. I could never go slow and enjoy it seems so boring to me I read manga for the fights and the plot twists or the emotional scenes.
@@tikicantlane Thank you! Do you struggle with english or japanese? Nothing wrong with your english from what i can see.
The action, emotions, plot twists, etc. Is also very important for me as well! But i'd also like to understand the motivations of the characters, how they develop, what messages the author wants to explore with the story. The more i come to understand these things, the more likely i am to enjoy and appreciate the show and it's characters.
@@beastvicious8672 I'm not trying to say how you read is wrong I think it's a very good way to read I think it is impressive. And my english Is fine I started learning japanese about a 2 years and I do it for a language credit for my school so I having to look up words from time to time. I do agree on the part where I forget names when I read to fast. I never remember the names for the characters unless there like main characters that they show alot 😂

@@flamingwheel9926 really? my rule in life is that if the anime is garbage i'll read the manga but if the adaptation is good i won't read the manga cause i don't like looking at the same thing if it gives me the same enjoyment so i never checked out the dorohedoro manga but i have seen some panels and can definetly say the manga looks better
I actually did buy the manga for season one, and I do agree that the manga is way more detailed in its drawings. I personally like the anime style a little bit more due to how Kimon looks a bit more cuter in that.
Yeah, but the reason why that anime worked so well is because the character designs are so simplistic and easier to animate. Dorohedoro has character designs that rely on details, that’s why they used CG.

Ahh that music hit that nostalgia spot in my ears just right
Im relatively new to anime/manga but thats one thing that stuck out to me recently. The manga is almost always more detailed (art and story) than the anime, but I still love both!
Manga usually is about visual storytelling and poses angles panels...anime is allowed to add more dialogue to make everything feel more real and so we can feel what they feel and see the truth clearer and understand more of the story
Because it didn't move. Manga was better in most cases, but when anime got everything right, it surpass anything that manga could offer, at least for me.
Try watched Your Lie in April, Haikyuu, People should appreciate the importance of music/vocal in our lives. animation is bonus.
Imagine the world you can't hear?
In a world that can often feel uncertain, music is a source of hope. It's a universal language; one that transcends cultural boundaries and can unite people of different backgrounds. Just a single chord can touch one's innermost being, evoking emotions without uttering a word
My recommendation is to Watch a GOOD anime first. Then read the manga version of it.
Because you are just spoiling yourself. It is like reading a wikipedia and then watching adaptation. You will get disappointed or just get bored because you already know the story.
The surprise factor is gone.
It is like reading a comic book of your Marriage proposal, Surprised confession of love, birthday surprise from the future. then experiencing it in the present.
that just comes with the medium. you if a manga ever has worse looking stillshots than an anime, which is a medium NOT about stillshots then the artists should probably reavulate their expertise
and story is more detailed because they can just cram in text and such without much worry while anime can't.
@@aaronyoghurt9210 yup absolutely, good anime are just outright better than manga, because they just HAVE more (voice acting, animation, music, color and many many many other things)

@@reservoir4798 ?
Or just look up all the intros and outros of the manga your reading 🤷🏽♀️
I think intros can break the flow, manga reading multiple chapters it just has a good flow
My reasons to liking manga more than anime:
- Manga can get away with more. In therms of content manga can get more past the censors than the anime.
- Less filler. Yes manga can have filler chapters (the Inuyasha manga is basically 30 percent or more filler for instance) but in general is more condense than the anime which in some cases have to use crap ton of fillers - basically every shounen jump anime ever.
- Many times the anime airs and ends before the manga and there is no second season so they fill the blanks with original content, the ending is usually awful or a cliffhanger - the original Hellsing for instance.
- Less time consuming, an anime episode is from, on average,12 to 24 minute long, you can get the same amount of content with less padding from a chapter for less time
The last reason is actually the main reason why I became manga only now
@@blank2736 well i can finish 12 ep anime in one day lol
These are adaptation problems, not anime problems.
I love having the book in hand and the fact that you do really get to appreciate the author because there name is on it
Also a lot of the time the author also did all the art themselves so you get to experience their drawing styles and whatnot too. always love reading manga and seeing the various artistic styles.

Am I the only one who listens to OSTs while reading manga so the lack of music isn’t such a really an issue? Please say I’m not the only one
my sister does it
I prefer silence
Personally I've always perfected anime because I connect emotional with stories much better when I can hear them. Which is why I honestly think that music sound design and voice acting are all more important to making a good anime, well, animation. I've tried to do the thing where I imagine a character's voice in my head but I just can't, they always default back to being read in my own voice after a few pages it makes the whole experience feel a lot "flatter" to the point where at least for me only the highest tier of manga art, Berserk, Punpun, etc, are comparable to my favorite voice performances and soundtracks.
Still respect your opinion, great vid.
I agree
I generally feel more immersed in books/manga than TV adaptations
@@tricko8000 you simply nerf
Well there's a stark contrast between the quality of manga being more picturesque and less kinetic than its anime counterpart. Although the former quality is priceless, we like to watch anime for the latter quality, for that's the whole point from animating a manga, watching the very same panels we fell in love with while reading through the whole thing getting in subtle motion.
I much prefer manga compared to anime. I feel like manga do a better job at conveying the intended story and tone, whereas anime often change art style or remove narration/exposition. Imo this leads to things like certain Nen abilities and Stands being more confusing.
@Lionard Kirsch Hard disagree on JoJo Part 5. I think the anime is a poor adaptation.
I always try looking for the manga first, but anime that don’t have manga like Psycho Pass which is a MASTERPIECE can also have great developments

There are some anime's that can get me interested into reading the manga. In Demon Slayer, i watched up to the latest episode, which was just after meeting Kyogai, then started reading because I couldn't wait till next week. I pretty much binge read the rest of the manga after that.
The only time i was extremely hyped reading a manga is in the beetle fight in jojolion
I have read berserk, devilman, kny, chainsaw man, dragon ball, and others but i never felt so excited to the point of sweating like with the beetle fight

I’m with you on the intro and outro songs. I rarely watch anime but when I do I skip the songs.
for the most part i agree, but recently some shows like demon slayer, mob psycho, and jujutsu kaisen have had great anime adaptations that really bring life to the source material. especially demon slayer since the quality of the manga drawings progressively decreased as the story reached its final arc (probably due to time constraints on the mangaka unfortunately)
Majority of the time its:
Watch all the anime
Can't wait for next episode

I sorta agree wit ya but I disagree I actually like the Anime opening themes to Anime it doesn't feel cheesy it feels right I can listen to Yu yu hakusho or even your thumbnail Dorohedoro OP too many times! Plus just to see a series in motion is hype for me not just the seiyuus the voice actors but the passion the fight scenes the amount of sakuga etc I will say Manga is better when it comes to Berserk and even Dorohedoro but i actually enjoyed the hell outta dorohedoro. And Vinland saga and Blade of the immortal hell all of jojo it just depends on the people making the series and the way they actually utilize the series
Love the new intro I just liked the ash crow remix more
Good video! Man I think it really just depends on the series. Like JoJo is a special case for me. The first 3 parts work better as an anime imo, but from part 4 on I’m more into the manga. Also, because manga is black and white, sometimes it can be difficult to make out action scenes which can sorta squander the moment. It really depends on the mangaka tho for sure. I think color is an underrated aspect of anime as well. Although One piece has better pacing in the manga, something about seeing that world in color just brings it to life for me. Good luck going forward with the channel man big props!
Dorohedoro on the thumbnail nanii, where is the review 😶
Great video btw, i agree with every point because I am starting to prefer manga over anime myself but i get trashed for being a manga reader from time to time.
I play music during action scenes to help make it more bad ass, but my only 2 gripes with comics and manga is that manga are not usually colored and both are not voiced. Of course voices are not everything but I would not be able to read 300 chapters of a manga if its all black and white. I usually wait for colored versions or fan colored. I read JoJo parts 1-7 in a few weeks and was able to blitz through them all since they have great colored versions of the manga.
Whoooo waiting for one of your videos all day
Very well put. I used to watch the anime before starting a series and found out in time it’s better the other way around

In my case, I have adhd, and even though animation and music are my favorite art forms, they are both really distracting for me, I often feel the need to go back a few minutes in an episode because I focus a lot on them or just space out.
Manga makes it a lot easier, I can just look at all the drawings in the page first and then read the dialogue, or even stop mid-chapter and finish it later.

Art work in berserk manga is really magnificent.
I love both manga and anime.
Anime alerts my parents when they see me in headphone.

What do you think about combining the two? Imagine a manga that at certain points has animated scenes. Perhaps instead of animating an entire fight, it’s just a short clip of the finishing move. Idk, just a thought.
That could be a new business idea, although some webtoons have idea

I never got problem with music because I always play different OSTs of anime in background while reading manga
This. When I know I read an apocalyptic story ill pop on some Cyro Chamber. When its more action ill do whatever fits the vibe to me
doesn't make sense, that would never be better than the specifically created or carefully chosen music from an anime, when a scene changes in a sudden motion it immediatly falls flat cuz you still got your animal crossing ost playing. or you'll never have a beat drop right as a cool thing happends or smth.
no ost ever could give the feeling that the made in abyss anime ost brings to scenes
@@jeffboy4231damn can't believe it's already been 3 years now.
I mean like for me watching any helps me connect with characters better. Also an anime helps me get invested in the story faster. In a manga I do not get really invested in a story till a major arc or plot point. In anime I do not really have that problem.
I just want mention this but gintama is fucking amazing and finish watching it.

Watching anime is so time consuming indeed, although watching a well done fight scene in an anime is an unmatched experience. However I do prefer manga over anime as manga really sucks you into the story and also leaves a lot of room for imagination. Love your content though, especially the Beserk content, hopefully we can get a new chapter in the next 10 years lol ;)

i can finish 12 ep in one day without forgetting characters name
Sometimes I like when an anime adaption is slightly different from the manga source material, ie Sailor Moon and Lupin iii respectively. It’s fun to pick apart the differences in terms of content, storytelling, or even in art styles.
Yo the new intro fire🔥
hopefully one day we will have anime that has the same detail and beauty that manga has
Am i the only one Who reads mangas with music (sometimes) I read kingdom with gangsta paradise and gang up and it was perfect
I read kingdom with berserk ost in the background
Honestly, I just enjoy both, as they both have their strengths. Yes, there are lackluster anime adaptations, but there are also obviously great ones. Don't also forget all the great anime originals out there as well. At the end of the day, in terms of anime adaptations, context is key, and any given anime adaptation could be worse, as good, or maybe better than the source. In general, I think being open/flexible enough to give both of them a chance is the best way.
4:03 And there's me for whom music(osts) is one of the most important thing in an anime, then art work and lastly story.
I generally start with an anime then continue on to the manga
animes i prefer over manga
1 hunter hunter
2 attack on titan
3 JBA
Jojo parts 1-3 in the anime kinda suck but manga is good
I concur with these three.
I think the main factual thing that actually plays the case of why I always prefer manga, it is that there will always be more manga than there is anime by an imaginable amount, there are so many amazing unheard of gems out there that are barely known let alone able to get an adaptation, also a lot of manga that are pretty much impossible to adapt like Koku no Hito, Innocent and Vagabond.
Also manga is the purest way to experience how an author envisioned their story. Anime is like experiencing a story from the goggles of another fan/individual, a lot of things that the author intended could easily be missed and/or removed be it by mistake or on purpose.
amazing intro man....video as well
As a reader I enjoy manga more. Anime is still interesting but I agree with most of your points
This reminds me what happened with Blame and It's movie adaption where it tells a entirely different story from Manga
Don't know if I should count the Blame! Log mini series.
they did it dirty
I feel you bruh, this is such a good video and I personally share your opinion, I also believe that those arguments about having a greater connection to the anime cuz of the music and the voice acting is not necessarily true. I myself feel even greater connectik to stories as I am reading them l. And also feel a lot more immersed. Just looking at how you can actually feel that level of immersion with no music or voice acting is awesome. And the level of enjoyment and the connection is still as good if not better
this is exactly what i was thinking before i watched love is war and demon slayer, both of them changed my mind on anime when i could unconciously noticed how the directing and animating could elevate the manga into a whole new level

Totally agree with the anime opening/ending songs. Very rarely do I come across a opening song I can actually listen to more than once. Pretty much always skip the ending songs though
Yeah bro you had me on the first half and then you started capping when you said you hate the op and endings.
Bruh when he said that, it hurt 😞
My personal rule. Watch the new intro for a series. Remember how long it is, so I know how much to skip to get to the show.
I will give you a hint, it is always 1 minute and 30 seconds
That intro is cold af bruh!
Your outro song fucking BANGS
I recommend reading jagaaaaan
i feel that jagaaaaan is a good manga but the story isn't that compelling, okay the "horror" and the action are dope but the plot feels a bit light. I feel that the owl is just a way to introduce smoothly elements that make little if not any sense. The story is good but i think the standards it gave itself is too high.
the artwork is compelling and all but the themes that it rises are a bit too "light" ( they only scratch the surface of ningen's true) or too generic to really be a must read manga. The tree man is a great exemple of that ( trying to jibber some nonsense to seem like a phylosophical vilain such as the white haired guy from mob psycho, but falling flat very quickly )
If u want a rly good manga no one has watched yet check out T(it is slow passed, doesn t have much action but is great through and through )
btw sry for the poor grammar
@@bigbodybilly265 You didn't need to type a whole essay lol. But yeah it's a good manga and has it's twisted sense of justice that makes it memorable.
It's fun
The new chapters just got crazy me hype
@@PaizuruInsanal lmao. Well he hasn't appeared in a while. And I do agree it gets kinda dumb sometimes
Its bad, the main plot and characters are not bad but their is this one character in the manga thats not even a perv but simply a criminal. Its disgusting and repulsive and not even in a natural or good way. The character is the most hideous thing i have read its like the author added his NTR fetish to the story.
For me it depends on my lazy level at the time 😂
What I like about anime is the music it really lets me get into a scene better also the voices can make you feel something but I usually read manga because of how good the art is and the I get to see what the story is supposed to be from the creator basically I prefer manga because it’s how the author imagine the work to be
My biggest problem with manga is fight scenes. Even in Berserk, i have a pretty tough time figuring out whats going on. I think it mostly has to do with the Black/White color scheme. Getting a perception of speed and power is very difficult to understand in the manga format.
this a question I have to all the manga readers so after yall watch the anime do yall start reading the manga from the beginning or do you continue where the anime left off?? because sometimes I cant decide what to do
It depends, there are mangas where the anime skipped chapters that greatly affected the plot like servamp. If the anime did a great job adapting all the chapters and even adding more content like owari no seraph then I just read from where the anime left off
It depends. With Aot i start where i left off on the anime. However, with Tokyo Ghoul i started from the beginning. It really depends how accurate the adaptation is.
D P it depends but for most manga you should just read it from the beginning
I usually
Continue from where the anime left
But rn with berserk and the movies i just restarted the manga from the start
You should look at whether the anime skips stuff. Take Berserk. The 1997 anime skips a lot of good stuff by the time its finished and doesn't even have Puck. So in that case starting from the beginning is necessary
I think to get the most out of manga, you need to have the kind of mind that's capable of bringing the images on the page to life and giving it all interesting profound meaning... something that I don't think the average person is actually very good at, hence anime being more popular.
Except manga is more popular in Japan. Americans just don’t like comics.
@@thomasffrench3639 yeah probably because the average Japanese person is more imaginative than the American, different culture, consumed and produced differently too. Though manga is becoming more and more popular outside of Japan, sales are higher than they have ever been and that upwards trend seems to be increasing year on year.... outselling comics last time I checked.
@@anab0lic which is dude entirely to anime and how western comics have confusing continuities. I don’t buy the politics being the reason, because other political media is really popular.
@@thomasffrench3639 nah its not just the continuity thing, manga being free of all the 'woke' bullshit makes a big difference for sure. Also, manga is drawn in a way where the moment to moment sequencing, in each panel, flows in a much more cinematic way.
@@anab0lic people all the sudden change their minds, and blame the comic industry for it. I call bullshit.
Great intro! Did you animate that yourself?
Well, Manga vs Anime is a never ending battle but we need to acknowledge the fact that there are a ton of amazing stories that don't even have an Anime.
Yeah man, or they have an anime but the manga ends up being way better
You low key gave a reality check for Demon Slayer fans
I think this rule only works on great mangas . For me I can't read trash manga but I can watch trash anime all the time
@@PaizuruInsanal very true
That intro looking pretty clean not gonna lie.
Love the new intro
