Yeah, for real tho it was pretty nice. I've seen hate about it but I know from personal experience how much evolution can be made through something as simple as farming. Hell, staring at a wall all day could lead to a huge change within a person!

My favorite arc has got to be the Farmland one from Vinland Saga. It's when the characters, writing, emotions, and themes all came to a head. Thorfinn and Einar standing over Arnheid's grave and vowing to create a country of peace is just so powerful given how the series was in the past. I really respect how the series built up to this moment and changes gears in such a brave manner. I love the art and paneling as well, so expressive.

Kingdom is like the one manga that excites me the most when a new chapter is out.
Of the 200+ mangas I have read, Kingdom is on my top 3, others being Berserk and One Piece.

Kingdom has 2 massive and beautiful arcs - the coalition invasion arc and the Western Zhao invasion arc but the current arc has also had a great fucking start !!!
My top 3 Kingdom arcs would be this. 1- Coalition Invasion. 2- Koku You Campaign. 3- Western Zhao Invasion.

Personally i won't put Shogun assassination number 1 and to get everything out of Shogun assassination u have to read everything before it which is not highly recommended in the manga imo but this is a list i will totally agree with.

Why is everyone so hype about marineford? I watched quite a bit of it a years back when I was a lot younger on TV and didnt really get the feelings it's one of the greats.
I actually liked Impel Down more from what I remember.
(I randomly turned on the TV and decided to watch from Impel Down arc to marineford. I had watched most of one piece before)

@@domenicobecerra7778 Season 3 and onwards is just pure insanity. I gave first season like 75%, second 80%, third 90% both parts combined and what will happen next blew the previous seasons out of the water. It's close to perfection, we just need to see how it turns out in the end.

Not technically a manga but I loved Roak's Journey/Past in 4 Cut Hero and the Webtoon is in seasons and episodes so it's kind of hard to point to an Arc in the story if it wasn't divided into any in the first place
Helck's Past - Helck. I got to many backstory arcs and Helck doesn't get enough love either not to mention it's really short as well it's not on the level of the Golden Age with like 90 chapters lol.
Dark Tournament Yu Yu Hakusho - Don't want to include an author second work on a list.
Pain Arc - Naruto
Soul Society - Bleach
Farmland - Vagabond and Imma stop here it's easy to list good ones but it's hard to rank them and I got to many honorables.

@UCl8X_b-1wMBPEnUYREAtkjw It is easily better than Marinford. Seems like Masked man also agrees with it. However in comparison with him, i would also put Chimera above Golden Age arc. However that is just my preference, because i find whole "appeal" of Golden age arc to be nothing special: It is edgy (that doesn't make arc good), development of Guts in Band of the Hawk (which is alright) and "masterful" betrayal of Griffith in the end (which is something i knew before coming into Berserk, maybe that is the reason i don't think so highly of him, i never had chance to experience that plot twist. Also i never felt connected to him to even care about him turning to dark side. The same way i never felt connected to Kite in HxH anime, yet many people where angered at Neferpitou for killing him. Which is mind blowing for me.)

@@nemanjastikic1367 Griffith's betrayal wasn't supposed to be a twist in the first place. It was already hinted at from the Black Swordsman arc and the cryptic shit Zodd and other characters were saying about causality. The appeal of it for me was like something similar to Halo Reach where you know your fighting an inevitable battle knowing in the back of your mind that you are going to die, same applies to Griffith we know about his betrayal from the events of the Slug Baron in the Black Swordsman Arc and it was treated more as a seed of incoming dread.
As for the Kite thing yeah I can totally see why I think it's more of how it matters for Gon. Even if you read the manga and seen Kite's introduction in chapter 1 he wasn't really much of a character either he's just Gon's mentor figure and his ideal image of what a Hunter is.

Millennium Falcon (Berserk)-- i think you wrote the wrong Berserk arc by accident... i mean WTFFF
The Coalition Arc is the most chair-gripping arc of all time. It gives such a real sense of DREAD because it's based on real history. Other mangas like Berserk or One Piece are my favourite but they are fantasy. No matter how bad things get, we know the author has control over the story. Kingdom's wars are real wars and Generals die - the author is just fleshing out how things happened.

my honest to god favorite part of a series is in Vagabond when they start doing the rice farming. I've never been so entranced into something i had no clue about. you go from high samurai sword duels to just living off the land and i loved every second of it.
Personally I prefer the conviction arc to the golden age arc. The part where guts covers Jill in his cloak really got me

I think the introduction of the Beast, and the descent into absolute death metal despair/insanity (torture chamber? satanic goat party anyone?) gives it this darker edge that I prefer slightly to GA's storytelling perfection.

Im currently reading falcon of the millenium empire arc and it has much more hyped moments then golden age. Much more moments that make me go WHAAAT OMG. especially the rocket launcher. I lose brain when he activates it its so freacking epic.

Also characters are much more lovable and friendly and i love then. And seeing guts being wholesome sometimes and so freacking strong makes me go OOOO. i cant stop reading it.
To me falcom millenium is wayyy better then golden age. Golden age has amazing twists and reveals such as griffith one. And its very creepy bc of griffith bc u know he is evil so it is creepy.
But golden age is nowhere as cool as falcon millenium. Golden age is just overrated over other arcs
@@NormalExploiter Honestly I love all the arcs of Berserk, but yes the Millennium Empire Arc is the arc where the most ‘STUFF’ happens with high battle set pieces, exploring magic, new upgrades and comrades. Arguably Miura’s best art going from highly detailed battle scenes to becoming fucking biblical

The main reason I see why Golden Age is deservingly praised is in the condensed story among its characters, their interactions, motivations, and philosophies so personal on a level completely different from the other arcs
Not saying the other arcs are worse in this god no, just that G.A. heavily focused more in the mental side and characters own thoughts clashing one another culminating in the beautiful tragedy of the Eclipse, forever setting the stage for every event after
I’m not saying it is better, I fucking love Empire, just wanted to point out why G.A. is usually the first Berserk arc people go to first for the ‘Best’ manga Arc

Still surprised that the Lost Children arc of Berserk isn't considered it's own arc but part of the Conviction arc... LC definitely feels a lot different than the Conviction arc but I suppose the transition between them is rather smooth and works out very well.
Dude, I'm gotta say something. The last 4 volumes of Vagabond is probably the best thing i've ever read in my life.
Read the exibihition chapter ( i can send the link ). It's the best arc ever (if considered an arc), even better than farming. Every panel is a masterpiece by itself. It's like the bible of fiction

Even if everything post rooftop has been peak one piece I need a moment that tops the intensity, surprise and epicness that were Ace and WB's deaths... there has been several moments that have come close but to justify Wano's lenght and crown it as my favorite op arc I need a truly pivotal and impactful moment

That's why beserks always been my goat. I felt spoiled because it was one of the first manga/anime I was put on to. My girl at the time was much more into anime than I was and she suggested I watch berserk because I liked the more violent setting. Came for the violence stayed for the INCREDIBLE character building and emotional roller coaster that left me invested in the world like I had never been before in almost any media.

I really think you should replace elf reincarnation with Spade arc. Elf Reincarnation was good, but spade arc has been FIRE.
Fun Idea. Going to list mine. Because I feel like it dammit
6- Baki: The great Quarrel of Father and Child-----An entire arc (81 chapters) spent on a single battle may seem excessive but when you 1) consider its the battle which Itagaki has spent approximately 750 chapter building towards and 2) Baki is a martial art series which despite its longevity keeps the battles fresh and engaging. Accomplishes this by peppering in flashbacks, character introspections and real life (highly exaggerated but grounded in reality) explanations of martial arts philosophy's and combat techniques.
5- Beastars: Murder Solution Arc----- Revenege of the Love Fallen is also great but ongoing so can't say for sure if it will maintain its quality although I suspect it will I wont say much about this arc as its a newish manga and I'm worried of spoiling it for people. But I will say it has a genuinely satisfying reveal in the death of Tem the lama whos murder was the impetus of the series. And thats just part of it. As expected of Beastars the ever evolving psychological states of these anthropomorphic animals is a real pleasure to follow. 4
4-One Piece: The Paramount War Arc: Impel Down to Marinford. The final point of the pre time skip One Piece and it is truly incredible to see all of the characters legends and events come together. Its like fan fiction seeing all these fan favorites clash and interact with one another but unlike fan fiction its well written
3- Jojo- Steel Ball Run. Diamonds are Unbreakable is my close second. Steel Ball Run the seventh part and the first in the alternative dimension timeline breathed new life into JoJo's. The premise is a cross country horse face where our protagonists search for the dismembered corpse parts of Jesus Christ. One hopes to do this to heal his crippled body another is the president of America. Nuff said
2-Berserk: Golden Age Arc: A truly incredible arc showing the development of interesting characters and their unique relationships. Incredible art, character and monster designs, narrative progression starting with Guts birth to the Eclipse a truly terrifyingly engaging event. I don't think Berserk ever reached the heights of the Golden Age again and I think Berserk is incredible in its totality so should show how great the golden age is in my estimation.
1- Hunter x Hunter: Chimera Ant Arc: I feel I don't need to say much about this or justify the choice. Almost everyone who has seen or read the Chimera Ant Arc places it in there top list. I suspect the Succession Arc may take its place but there is a genuine concern it may never actually reach a climax so for now it remains a hypothetical

@@lawboy3215 Yeah, I love the Yorknew City Arc. I only didn't put the Chimera Ant arc here because I only watched HxH through the anime, and the pacing for that arc was terrible. Yorknew City was amazing all the way through. Especially the requiem *chef's kiss*. It was so good.

My first contact with berserk was by the golden age movies, and I had no knowledge about the series. I went there thinking that I would watch a nice ordinary medieval 3 parted story full of gore. When I finished the third movie, I was paralyzed and speechless for the role credits, feeling a gigantic storm of emotions. I just stayed there, still and jaw dropped, watching there credits role by and trying to absorb wtf just happened and how could a story ended like this.
When I finally got my shit back together, I did all the research I could about this series and swallowed everything I could; the anime, the manga, forums, everything. Never in my life a story arc was so impactful and powerful. The golden age arc is truly a master peace, something that I’ll carry with me forever and recommend to as much people as I can. This series is a damn gem in this world

When the master loosed his shit and beat up his slave almost as a rape this was just brutal

The vagabond and Vinland saga farm arcs made me really reconsider some of my views on writing (as a writer myself) and real life. It made me reflect inward as Musashi or Thorfinn was and it felt slow but it felt rightly slow.

@@beastvicious8672 The show really gets amazing starting in season 2, which is around episode 25. The early episodes are a lot of setup, and the plot really starts moving when each country starts dealing with internal affairs

Hot take: golden age arc isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be. Maybe because it was too overhyped for me, but I just thought that it was average storytelling telling with well drawn art. The eclipse was probably the only part I would say that makes it so amazing. I greatly prefer conviction arc as it is where we see Guts develop the most as a character. We also basically assemble our main cast to the point that we have several fleshed out characters instead of just Griffith and Guts previously. Berserk is an amazing manga up until we reach the Eclipse, which is when it becomes godtier I believe. From the Eclipse onward we enter the best Berserk has to offer in terms of world building, character exploration, and thematic writing. Golden age is great, but the arcs that come after it are far superior and demonstrate how much better Miura got as a mangaka.
Hm that’s an interesting take. But the Golden Age is where we see Griffith at his peak as a character, as well as the core of what makes Guts an amazing character, along with the development of Guts and Cascas relationship. Guts develops a lot in the Golden Age as well, going from a man who was nothing but a killing machine to a man who desires to have a goal and be more than a pawn. The bonfire of dreams, Zodd and the Skull Knights amazing introduction and ability to foreshadow the Eclipse. I’d agree the Eclipse is the peak moment, but the reason the Eclipse was so brutal and traumatic is because of all the great things Miura presented in the Band of the Hawk. I totally get having Conviction at 1 for the reasons you stated, but there are to many amazing moments of dialogue and character building in Golden Age to say what comes after is far superior
without the GA arc Griffith would have been a pretty bad antagonist
@@TheMaskedMan I may need to go reread golden age and I might appreciate it more now. At the time I read it, it felt like some of the battles were filler and the plot was kinda straightforward. I would definitely say that golden age is the key to understanding everything in berserk as it lays the foundation for the rest of the story so I do think it does a good job at starting the story off properly (Black Swordsman for example being an interesting hook but awkward place to start story-wise). I guess I'm one of those guys who prefers the expansion of plots and themes rather than the creation or establishment of such elements.
@@muhammedmooquin1365I agree, so I don't understand what point your trying to make. I never said that the arc was useless or bad. The arc is obviously necessary for the story of Berserk to work. I agree that it's needed and that it establishes Griffith well. Just because I think golden age is a bit overrated doesn't mean I think we don't need it. I do think however that If Miura were to rewrite golden age today, there would be alot more fleshing out of the members in the band of the hawk and more exploration into the themes of the story.
I totally get you, Conviction is a very close 2nd for me, but it shows that Miura hasn’t ran out of tricks and great ideas. But could you imagine if the new beginning was the Golden Age arc redrawn with his newer art style
yeah Kingdom has been producing such great quality chapters and battles throughout the years that it has... knocked berserk out of my number 1 favorite manga list.
(and to anyone who disagrees, i urge to just read it. Kingdom is top tier.)
for me the Siege of Sai is specifically my favorite arc hands down (although the first arc with Sei's return to the throne being a close 2nd... or 3rd after Kanki's taking of the hills? damn this manga has so many great moments.
But when it comes to arcs specifically, i still do agree. The Golden Age arc of berserk is phenomenal. And its' placement within the manga itself is also great. It introduces Guts as a brutal antihero, leading to the Golden Age which explains his origin. And after this arc, everyone is just invested in watching Guts making a better life for himself, either through revenge or some form of redemption, soul-searching journey.

Fantasia: The dreamscape sequence is perfect. The biggest cliffhanger at 364 revealing Moon kid is Griffith. Stunning Art in this arc and Griffith taking Casca away.
Falcon of Millenium: The greatest war arc I ever seen.
4. Black swordsman: It is really great in every aspect. It's even though last, it is no means bad. The meeting of God hand and Guts is my favourite and Crying of Guts too.
