this book was my perfect cup of tea. It had enough drama to not get annoyed. Enough romance to keep the story in its path. and it had enough plot line to keep me on my toes. I usually don't like or finish books assigned for school but gee whiz this book was wonderful.

Seen the house in person, it pops out of nowhere. It's off a quiet long street and just as beautiful and angelic in the movie. Gives me the feels.

I would have like Whoopie Goldberg as August. Queen L was too young. The actress who played May was great but I saw May as much younger because she was the youngest sister. Alicia looked exactly as I saw June in the book but she could have acted better! I didn't like Zach. In the book he seems very tall and really skinny.

I didn't know anything about this book or film before this Christmas when I got it as a present. I'm so excited to see that it was adapted into a film. I just can't believe I didn't know anything about it... it has some top notch actors...

I just finished watching the movie right now on BET. I absolutely love this movie. They could not have chosen better actresses to be in this film. Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, and Alicia Keys are just like wow in this movie. I think Alicia Keys is a great actress and she should really be in more films. This movie gets to me every time

I watched this movie with my nan when I was around 5 yrs old I loved the movie i didn’t understand it as well as I do now but i was always trying to Find this movie it took me about eight years to find it and just today I found it and I am so happy I was able to watch it again

I can relate to both May and Lilly in this movie, pain can make you stronger in the end. Writing down my prayers actually works. You can gain so much more than you lost. 🌻🐝🍯
Its so heartbreaking when Lily says "I don't think it it was possible to not be loved by both parents" I started crying at this bit. Dakota was so good!
I felt this a lot...and I was happy to know that she turned out to be right. Her mother did love her afterall. Even though it happens, it's hard to believe that a child could be hated by both parents. That would just be sad.

I was almost 16 when this powerful and heartwarming film was released! The movie is equally as good as the book that inspired it and it lived up to it's story's spirit and resonance. I'm actually here because Jennifer Hudson is playing Queen Latifah's character Moutermouth Maybelle from Hairspray this December in NBC's new TV production from some of the creative team behind The Wiz Live.
I just finished the book and i loved it with all of my heart. simply the best book i've ever read! so now, i had to watch the movie. well, it was a great film, and i believe it easily could've been one of my favorites if it wasn't for the fact that i read the book first. so many things they forgot, like all of the parties they had and such with maria's daughters. but the actors really amazed me, it worked so well with the people i imagined by the book.
This movie is brilliantly heartwarming with such an amazing cast! Anyone who says otherwise is stunned out of they're minds!
This movie is lovely! This movie follows the novel pretty well! It's great to see Lily be with her new and better family.
What a Brilliant and Touching Film!!! I can't begin to imagine living in South Carolina in 1965 and being of color.. This film touched my heart and soul.. We need another film like this one asap..
Dakota Fanning never ceases to amaze me. She's an amazing actress. And I'm beyond excited to watch this movie.

A fantastic movie. I just finished watching it. It's 12:10. I was supposed to be in bed but i watched this movie because of Dakota Fanning and I have no regrets. Even when the sad bits were on and I had to not noticably cry and wake everyone up. Fantastic movie with so much meaning, it makes emotions swell up and stir inside. I'm gonna have to look for the book...

Oooh, Mary! I started my yearly tradition of "The secret life of bees" celebration.
Every year, after a few weeks of Spring, it starts to get hot in my small town, down here in Australia. When that heat kicks in, I always read the book. I read one chapter every night before going to bed. Once the book is finished, I come to youtube and watch this trailer. Then, I get out my DVD and watch the movie. It helps me get through Summer.
I cherish this book and movie. Just a shame the website has changed. It's no longer the same settings, but just a link to this youtube page. I miss the website, how it showed you the box Lily owns with her mothers items inside. And how you could choose to watch certain clips from the movie and listen to the soundtrack on the jukebox. Now it just says searchlight with a link to this trailer :-(
Dakota Fanning is amazing and she's a gifted actor! I cried so much in this movie.
Movies never make me cry...this one did. I definitely had to buy this to add to my collection and I would recommend it to ANY of my family/friends! I give it the highest marks!

Sue Monk Kidd is a phenomenal writer. This is the one movie that I know of that actually lives up to the book. Queen, Jennifer, Alicia... this movie is incredible.

I read this book, and I have to say, the writing style was excellent. I felt that every character was REAL, and not just empty shells. Honestly, great read.

I remember reading this book back in...8th grade I think? Hated it at first, but then it grew on me. Then I watched the movie, and for some reason just a few minutes ago I suddenly got the urge to look this trailer up. Life is strange.
When Alica Keys is in a movie it always takes me a while to figur it out I watched this two days ago and it took me a few hourst ofinally say "IS THAT ALICA KEYS?!?!?". They had a cluster of actresses and it was amazing. First movie to ever make me cry and I dont cry with movies.

I have yet to watch but from the trailer, it seems like the movie stayed pretty true to the masterpiece of the novel. I'm not sure about the casting..... Mostly Queen Latifa as August.... I would've thought someone deeper and more mysterious like Angela Basset with some hazel colored contacts might have been a better choice.... but to each his own!

The book is life altering....Every page is amazing...Goes right into the deepest part of your heart...I didn't expect anything...Had it lying around for a few years,then bingo!!!!!I read this when my own mother was dying and then died..Isent a copy to a wonderful new friend who adored it...I hope the movie is as good as the book.I'm almost afraid to see it.
