My brother an I did this back in June thanks to the pandemic and an early start no one was on the cables when we got there.
Spending the night camping up there is truly amazing! Your backpacks looked heavy, but I understand why you all did it to shorten the climb to HD.
It was indeed a heavy pack for a short woman like me lol! It really helped a lot camping in Little Yosemite. We had plenty of rest before our big hike to Half dome.
This is on my BUCKETLIST!!! I'm hoping someday I'll have the guts to do this. Were your feet hurt
Everyone can do this hike but you need to be prepared physically, mentally and make sure you have the right equipment to summit Half dome:)
I'm amazed you did this in the snow! The trail was completely covered! Did you use crampons or microspikes?
Thanks you! It was a bit challenging, but totally worth it, especially with no one else around. It was incredibly peaceful 😌 We made sure to use microspikes - they're essential for walking on snow.

It took us around 3 1/2 hours😊

Thank you so much! I (Jen) edit the videos on Wondershare but I’m currently learning how to edit videos in Adobe premiere pro ☺️ We use iphone 14 and Gopro Hero10 .

I’m doing this hike this year its exciting to see your video. Is descending much easier than ascending?
Climbing up is definitely more challenging than descending. You'll need a lot of upper body strength to hold onto the heavy cable and tackle the steep ascent.
When would be the best time to do this hike? And what's the reason for not needing a permit?
We suggest doing this hike first week of May or late October - off season. It's much safer and you don't have to apply for a permit to climb Half dome because the cables are down for the season. You'll have to bring climbing gear (harness, prusik knots etc.) before attempting this hike during the off-season.

We just use my Iphone 14 and Gopro Hero 10. Music is from epidemic sound :)

Yes, you will have to apply for a permit to camp in Little Yosemite Valley.
