Well played! Shoutout to being the other octoballoon enthusiast! I'd love to see the count between who used more octoballoons for their version of this run. Also the shield surf on the rails in the intro was a great idea.
By hylia we’re doin this now?
I don’t think any of us like the new abilities.

@@Fishy_17nah the new abilities are super cool
@@dsobransingh But we don’t use them here.
if you wanted to avoid using fused weapons altogether, there's a weapon callrd a feathered edge, it's the rito's signature sword, that does the same thing as a korok frond weapon when you swing it, but it does it without anything fused to it, so it's technically possible to do the same thing without any fused weapons
And if you man captain construct fusion bur do allow fused weapons most battle talus bokiblins have either bows or korok frond clubs
Oh its interesting !
@@brianzmek7272
That's still a fused weapon

32:51 Long Throw came in clutch in this challenge had me die laughing cuz we all know it's the most dreaded upgrade of all in BoTW and ToTK LMAO
3:32 Whether or not something can float does not depend on how heavy it is, it depends on the density, and since the ball is larger than Link, it could still actually make sense. The weird part is that the ball floats that high above the surface, which would require a really low density.
it's a completely hollow ball made out of plastic i guess
I swear, I'm shocked how little knowledge about basic physics the general population has. It's pretty sad
@@puffmain3276 You do realize most people on youtube either didn't pay attention in physics class or are so young they haven't taken it
@@huwdte you don't need to take physics class to know how density works
@@puffmain3276 I guess, I was mostly commentating on the shocked part
The only thing more impressive than getting all 152 shrines without using any runs is finding a situation where *long throw* is actually useful.
Great job man!
Thank you!
The sheer amount of time and effort that went into this series is absolutely _INSANE,_ words cannot describe just how much respect I have for you for doing this
Okay honestly the 70 octoballoon investment and shield hopping has the first shrine off to a great start. I haven't even seen the whole video, but this is gonna be a good one
if you get the upraded glide set, you can dive right netxt to the shrines and take no damage to interact with them in time to teleport back and when you warp back you wont fog out.
I respect the dedication to scaling the Deku Tree Chasm, but you can actually get through the Lost Woods after Phantom Ganon is gone. The path is not the same as BOTW, but its possible (you need to follow the wind)
they changed the route?! i'll have to check that out, the game actually gives you 0 reason to use that path so i never bothered since I assumed it was just the same as botw.
the solution of using torches seems unchanged at least.
@@remixtheidiot5771 At least I think they did. I don't remember seeing any torches in TOTKs Lost Woods, but I haven't walked the path myself (only know there is one). The solution I've been told is that you need to follow the direction of the wind to reach Korok Forest
@@avian1799
You can bring your own torch and smack a fire fruit to get yourself a flame.
Wait, what? I tried but I thought I heard it was still inaccessible post phantom Gannon
@@avian1799 i confirmed using hero's path. though the initial toches are gone, the route is the exact same as before. there would be lore implications if it changed...
i wanna go to the depths now to see if there's any parallels to the lost woods route or something cuz that would be cool.
I love that you will just smash your face into walls for hours just to give us quality content!
Yooo so sick. I learned some excellent strats from your videos for the blindfold run I'm working on slowly. I love these challenges where people try to beat the game without certain abilities since when blindfolded a lot of strats are lost alongside eyesight, and new approaches have to be discovered. Thanks for helping on my journey!
Cool! Glad I could help. Good luck with that blindfolded run, sounds pretty difficult!
Jeez! These shrines must’ve taken so long! Big applause for this guy!
I'm so impressed you got every single one! Amazing work, dude!!
In the lost woods, I got to the shrine near mido swamo by using the upgraded wingsuit, diving as fast as I could, than interacting with the shrine, it took me a couple of tries, it worked though.
These are awesome man keep up the great work
Damn this was so cool. Amazing achievement! I hope you keep coming out with cool videos and get more subscribers!
10:20 Physics objects CAN still interact with the glowing orb. The speedrun strategy is to ultrahand wood plank the orb can bounce off of
If you (or anyone) ever decides to speedrun shrines runeless, a well placed Korok Frond or a weapon (through dropping them) could easily do the same thing as the wood plank
I won't lie, jumping straight into the commentary from second 0 with a cursed Luma Mario sliding across the screen gave me a slight but all the same legitimate jumpscare.
Achievement unlocked: Create a piece of top tier 10/10 content. Chefs kiss man, was awesome to watch
Just an FYI, the reason the hoverstone randomly disappeared at 29:30 is due to how the game handles loading between the depths and the surface. With the exception of a few things, such as dragons, objects have a flag for either the depth or the surface and zonai devices you place in the depths are giving the flag for the depths. Upon reaching a certain height, everything that has a depths flag is deloaded, and that's why the hoverstone disappeared.
I just thought an automatic timer on it ran out
@@Drengodr It could have also been that, since hoverstones have a time limit of 30 minutes.
The ball is heavier than link, but bigger, so it's less dense, making it float, but also able to press the button. Imagine if you had a giant cruise ship on the button, you'd expect it to be pressed
that is unthinkable and gorgeous
Thank you so much for putting yourself through all of that octo ballon torture for us :)
5:00 he sort of can float with octo balloons! if you attach one to a shield and block with it, he will go up VERY slowly, and you cant turn him while hes going up! he goes up to about a fourth of the height gained from a bomb launch. very useful
Thank you, you discuvered a glitch unintentionally with the octoroc balloons and holding a item
for the korok forest, you can fall into it and interact with the shrines, but it is very difficult. this is how i got those shrines
3:45 the floaty balls for some reason are like the second heavyest thing in the game after the marbled rock
3:25 This makes perfect sense, actually. Buoyancy comes from an object's density, not its weight. The yellow balls were heavier than link but able to float because they are less dense.
For the lost woods you totally can just activate the shrine if you have the fall damage immune armor, just dive to the front of the shrine, press button, and fast travel back when it teleports you, that's how I did one of the shrines
How are you getting fall damage armor without Ultrahand? You have to finish at least two of the Great Fairy quests, which means moving at least two of the stable trotters' carts. And that's very annoying, because if you jostle them too much they'll reset their position.
@@misirtere9836 I forgor about runeless
7:31 I was confused on the puzzle and never figured it out and never typed it up and now just saw it here so that is cool
Wow I'm glad it took so long before I got around to watching part 1. Now I don't have to wait for the remaining shrines!
Nice
we should call this type of run the dren-lock
3:30 That actually makes perfect sense the balls are wayyy larger than link, a battleship is a lot heavier than a fork but the battleship floats and the fork doesn’t.
there is also a pre-fused korok leaf weapon around the start of the thunder dungeon, as well as a board guster that a construct has at the beginning of the game
3:31 They're buoyant because they're made of rubber
3:35 there is surface tension that allows things with high area to float on water with higher weight then something with lower coverage of the water. So the ball could weigh more than link.
The goat is back
5:35 - Anyone else have flashbacks to that damn Stasis golf shrine in BOTW when going for the chest?
Your videos are amazing, really
cant believe that long throw finally has a use
If TotK had more realistic physics and didn’t have the flying glitch this would’ve been impossible lol
Wow Congrats!
"the ball is light enough to float on water but link sinks and doesn't trigger the button" this man just learned what buoyancy is. What if I told you a cruise ship is also heavier than a person but floats on water? Crazy I know
3:28 A battleship is heavy and floats on water. The balls are a lot bigger than link, so there's plenty of space for them to be heavier and less dense
23:25 You're going to hate me, but I remember solving this shrire in a simple way, by placing both lights at a convenient angle (putting them on the fans, since they do have a convenient rounded side, that allowed for slight variations.).
But I did that using the merge. I am not sure it will help with your situation.
Damn this must have taken a very long time. Nice work.
Thank you! It really did
The only time anyone has ever wanted Long Throw.
Now 100% the game without runes
Oktorok balloon shields would be very good for some of theese
The only youtuber that doesn't freak out and have a panic attack, 12 seizures and an aneurysm when some random person dislikes their video
long throw finally has a use after all these years
Excellent! I'm especially thrilled about the callback to brassiere, and seeing my comment pasted there. Good pasties. 🤣
That challenge was insane! Now do every korok seed.
For the Korok forest shrines: you actually can fall from the sky and activate the shrine. You just have to land right in front of it and be spamming A as you fall to it. You will then void out after activating the shrine, and then you fast travel to it, and you can just walk right in.
U can also put a wing and the spear infront of a captain cobstruct to fuse it for u
Now do a 100% run :)
No but seriously this was very impressive!
Thank you! I am considering going for 100% but honestly I need a bit of a break after this one lol
@@Drengodrthe ascend koroks would be impossible (probably)
With the pressure plates could you put campfires on them? I remember that working in some BotW shrines
7:03 if you need unfused wind, use Rito swords
I use the shield surfing on a minecart rail to travel around whenever I don’t want to deal with a minecart over a short gap.
Literally the only time anyone has actually wanted the long throw modifier
Balls in holes joke got me laughing so hard
I thought the korok forest had a hole up above the clouds. I've used it before, but maybe it only appears after you reach it through the depths?
quite a few time I thought to myself “why doesn’t he just shoot the balloon on an arr- ooooohhh right”
No WAY! You found the sole use of long throw besides annoyance!
I arrived at mayamats exactly when you started talking about it
the new 1.2.0 infininte bow durability infininte hight trick makes it a lot easier but I suppose this works too. keep up the good work man!
Completely unrelated to your comment or the video but I found out that if you go to fight with Ganondorf and turn around as soon as the chanting in the music begins, you'll find 4 iron lumps have fallen around the area where Zelda's torch is.
Thats some serious detecation. I could never have done this.
26:40 so the vertical version of “triple slash clip” in OoT3D.
26:27 that shrine can easily be cheesed with the recall on the ball. You managed to cheese that without the recall.
So. Floating isn't about weight, it's about density. But pressing a button is about weight. The ball is way bigger than link, so it's probably heavier, but since it is filled with pure air, it has a lower overall density. Thus, it floats and pushes the button, yet link does neither. Technically accurate physics lol
12:25 clearly it is not a heavy stone slab, but a lightweight aerogel plate, and the ice is made of heavy water.
One of the rules was no using pre fused weapons as well though… Also great job. Love this video and you have gained a new viewer.
I love your content
Omg your last shrine is the same as mine in my first playtrought
I definitely got into the forest the first time by diving from above and entering a shrine, it took a few attempts but I did it
The rocket waiting to be fused outside the shrime:
You could have also used a feathered edge rather than a fused weapon
You can dive into the korok forest and activate the shrines, I did it with all 3, i might be able to post a video of it later. It's very tight tho
When it comes to korok forest, im pretty sure after killing phantom gannon in the trunk you can enter the forest the same was as in botw
you CAN get into korok forrest from above, i did it. Here are the steps:
1. Go to the depts and unlock an Lightroot under korok forrest.
2. Move like 20 meters to the side.(so you can do the next step without the cursor snapping to link)
3. Open the map and put your cursor on the shrine but don’t click.
4. Move your map to the overworld and put a stamp.
5. Close your map and get above korok forrest.
6. Jump down, line yourself up whit the stamp VERY PRECISELY. Hold r to dive, and just before you hit the ground pull out your paraglider(you don’t have to do that if you have the full set glide armor upgraded to level 2) and spam a.
7. The cutscene will play and it will send you out of korok Forrest right afterwords. Now you can teleport back to the shrine and you are in korok Forrest.
Thanks for reading my comment. 😋
Yep, I knew that it was possible, I was just never able to do it so I found another way
The amount of effort you put into your videos is nuts how do you only have 11k subs
I'm looking to increase that number
I'm just glad they didn't put any gyroscope puzzles in this game
I think I saw someone use a fire hydrant fuse onto a shield at the moment they got shocked to drop the shield which made the hydrant stay on, and going into stasis till a fully maxed battery ran out to lag the game enough that they would fall through the ground on a steering stick like with zuggling. It's an easier technique if you didn't need to go into the stasis which uses runes... but yeah not updated and the shrines are all possible, congratulations!
You should be able to do these on 1.1.2 as well because there is another zygote glitch however it’s very tedious but I guess that never stopped you.
IIRC, the runeless ruleset you were using bans the use of any fused weapons even if they weren't obtained via the Fuse rune - requiring you to destroy the attachment when you pick the weapon up - so you cheated with your guster.
Fortunately, while YOU failed to complete the challenge, you DID prove it is possible, because the special ability of the Rito tribe's weapons, which can be obtained in the Hebra region, causes them to act as a guster irrespective of what you fuse them with or even if the weapon is fused, except for gemstones that will overwrite the effect due to turning the weapon into a rod and causing it to shoot the gem's magic projectiles instead of create wind gusts.
Yeah, I dropped that rule for these shrines because I hadn't learned about the Rito weapon. That was always just a bonus challenge; avoiding the runes was the most important thing for me
long throw finally has one single use XD
16:00 an alternative way you could have done this one is just by dying because for some reason you keep the key,
Bro thought we wouldn't notice him sneaking megalovania in there
3:30 it's not "video game physics", it's called density!!!
an object's ability to float depends on its density, not it's weight!
most boats are extremely heavy, but that weight is spread out over a very large area, so they become less dense than water.
An object's wait doesn't correlate to density. A battleship can float.
“But have you tied bombs?”
0:00 i remember doing this shrine and i still dont think i did it the right way
put one minecart in front of the other then ultra handed it as high as it could go, then put that one behind the other one and recalled it, then i put the recalled one in the front and recalled the other one, and every time i got just a little bit further, then i made it to the top and accidentally fell back down so just bomb shielded to the top. i actually have no clue how you're supposed to do it and would love to know
Apparently you have to use bullet time to get the dazzle fruit trick to work.
The only time someone wanted LOMG THROW from a rocktorock
your are a total giga chad. great work
Soooo... A block of ice so large that Link would fit inside would actually weigh more than a car. Somewhere between the weight of a sedan and the weight of an SUV. Of course, a giant stone slab SHOULD also weigh about the same as a car, but we can pretend it's made of a super-light zonai magic mineral or something. Maybe super-asbestos since it can prevent ice from melting even with giant flame jets pointed at it?
@Drengodr Brazier can be pronounced bray-zier in Britain and Ireland so you're not necessarily wrong
cool
If you want too fly With the weapons jump of a Cliff and get in bullet time and then do a sword JUMP and the AS soon you do that Go into the quick shield Option and equip another shield and then you realise that you have too Go in bullet time again and then do every step again
I am now thinking that all the dungeons might be possible.
