    I have been using this DreamWear Gel pillow mask for 2 months and happy with it, the only problem I have is sometimes I wake up and have to expel air out of my mouth, I turn off the machine and on again and all fixed! I use level 3. Thanks for this video!

    hi there, i have just been diagnosed with Sl. Apnea, i went to pick out a mask, and picked the latter one on your video, that the tubing has the on the head where it (if you move to your right side, the tubing turns with you, and vice versa). With this tubing there, i can just do a bit of reading, shut my light and go to sleep. I have NOT found that it has a noise at the facial areas that run to the nose. None! it's very very quiet, it's the way you put it on, if you don't have it right, it will make noise in the tubing, you have to make sure that some of the tube comes down the jaw line, then above the ears. Thank youo for posting!

    I just started using the Dreamwear mask three days ago. So far, I'm unhappy with it and I don't feel like I'm sleeping much at all. I've used the Resmed nasal pillows for 7 years with very few complaints. I'd like to try these pillows but I'm getting tired of having to pay to try the "newest".

      Hi Douglas, thanks for sharing your opinion on this mask. From our 794 reviews we have it currently at 4.5 out of 5 stars. 561 of those reviews were 5/5 and 95 were 4/5 stars. Everyone is different and different people prefer different mask models/styles. Best wishes for the future

      I hope you didn't misunderstand. I'm not complaining. I haven't yet used the Gel Nasal Pillow and I'm looking for assistance and input. I sleep with my CPAP every single night, but I need help moving into the "new technology" that is available. Your review has me wanting to try the Gel Mask Pillows very much. I've used the standard Dreamwear mask for three (fairly miserable) days.

    First of all, thank you for your review. Of all the youtube reviews about this mask, I think your video is the best!
    According to Leftyhanky from the usa it is exactly the other way around. The Gel Pillows have leaks for him and the under the nose pillows does not.
    I have now tried both and must admit that I find the under the nose pillows more comfortable, however, I have here more leaks when I sleep sideways or on my stomach.
    With Gel Pillows everything is secure and I think might be the only solution for me.
    The reason is probably because the standard version does not leak with larger pointed noses, but with smaller flat noses, especially Asian noses like mine. I don't know.
    What annoys me is that the gel pillows lift my nose slightly and thus the nose feels a bit sore at the bridge of the nostrils at night. I am also afraid that the nose will change a bit due to the little uplift.
    What do you think about this?
    And do you think light sores from lifting the nose up will eventually go away?
    The nose also gets dry quickly, but a nasal ointment for the nasal mucous membranes that I use sporadically and a humidifier helped me.

    • @dmurphy9341
      @dmurphy9341 2 года назад

      I was told years ago with another mask, that if you have the mask frame too tight/small, you will put too much pressure on your nose (lifting it up). Perhaps your masks frame needs to be bigger....

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  3 года назад +2

      This is a nasal variety so the mouth needs to stay shut. If you open it then it will feel awkward as you will have the added air pressure rushing out through your mouth. You can use a full face mask if you have trouble breathing exclusively through your nose. Thanks for your question and have a great day. Nick

    Thanks for your good videos and help

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  3 года назад

      Hahaha. Thank you! I do get this a bit but i don't see it myself. I would definitely try a nasal mask if you have yet to try one and i wouldn't trust any advice your clinician tells you. From my experience 90% of them don't have any idea or any real life experience with cpap equipment or sleep apnea. With a nasal mask, you don't really need to worry about the Frame size, it's more the cushion size and most of the time you can download a size guide which you can print of to size yourself up. Some nasal masks also come as a fit pack so you get a Small, medium and large cushion included in the pack. About 70% of the time men are going to be a medium size so if you look in the mirror and you think you have a pretty standard nose then chances are you're gonna be fine with a medium. If you get it wrong you can always buy a different size cushion that will fit into the same frame :-). I always encourage my patients to start with a nasal or nasal pillow mask! Even if they have been told by a 'specialist' that they need a full face mask. Best wishes

      Lane, I use the Resmid full face mask and had a lot of problems with leaks at first. This is my evening routine: wash my face with soap and water. Put moisturizer on my lips, if it is cold, turn on the heat in my bedroom to avoid "rain-out." Fit the mask in front of the bathroom mirror. Once in bed, check the fit of the mask again. Now I don't have problems with leaks. Call your respiratory therapist if you still have leaks despite this advice, and ask for a "fit kit." Good luck!

      Have you checked you've got the right 'frame size' ? Sometimes you just need to try another mask although i do like the dreamwear masks. The ResMed P10 is one of my favourites :-)

      Yeah, I had that. Solved with a solid eye mask. YOu know, one of those things people put over their eyes on an airplane. Get a good one, like Unimi. Feels like you have nothing over your eyes!

    How can add 100% regulated oxygen into this machine?

      Hi Val, google cpap oxygen adaptor. It's a little device which enables you to add oxygen. Cheers

      There's an adapter that your O2 hose will connect, this allows your O2 to flow into the mask's hose and into your mask. Very helpful especially if getting used to a new mask

    Why are you afraid to put the mask on so we can see how it fits?

    I don't like how Phillips calls the masks pillows and cushions. Just call it a face mask or nasal mask.

      But there's pillows then there's cushions... Wouldn't make sense calling both the same thing.
