    Great video - you've inspired me to step out of the workshop and do some baking. I won't be filming it though - it would be ten minutes of outtakes with a few things I got right added at the end! Good luck with the channel.

    Always wondered what was in a minced pie. I have not ever had one. The term mince “meat” made me think it was beef. Ooops. Those look really good! Love the star tops. I am going to make some now. So glad you started this channel. Merry!

      @jennybarnes4806 Thanks for the note. I looked it up and can see how mince meat pie has changed over the years. I read it had goose and beef tongue in it at one time. Oh my.

    Interesting to watch your mincemeat recipe, Matt which is very close to my own. I like to add slivered almonds to mine for a little bit more texture. I was surprised you didn't cook the mixture a little before putting it into the jars. I heat mine through on a very low heat for an hour, then add the brandy. Anyway, it looked very nice and one thing's for sure, once you make your own, you'll never buy a jar from the supermarket again. 😊

    Place the lemon and orange peels in a small pot with any herbal tea bag and let it infuse on a simmer. Quite lovely and gives it another use before you toss the peels.

    Like the new channel Matt. Made me laugh when the woodworker Matt said thickness of pastry rolled to 2mm. Can I ask wether you could make a gluten free bread? I’ve tried several times without luck. Think I need to stay in my workshop😁

    My wife is making the pastry as I type (mincemeat was made in October). You mentioned to bake at 200C - was that for a fan oven?
