I am very behind in the 'what's badger up to now' gossip! I am so happy to have watched a few of your latest videos, Matt and to find out you are now cooking too!! Look forward to catching up with this channel too. Brilliant. Claire x
What a great idea to do this channel. As a long time viewer of 'Badger Workshop' I'm confused as hell watching you bake rather than make stuff. Time will equalise my brain. Looking forward to the future ones, cheers!
great video being a single guy into workshops and projects etc what a great crossover! you keep it simple, might have a go myself. good luck with the new channel i will watch with interest, i'm off for a mince pie!!!!!!!
Great video - you've inspired me to step out of the workshop and do some baking. I won't be filming it though - it would be ten minutes of outtakes with a few things I got right added at the end! Good luck with the channel.
A busy year indeed! I’ve been knackered just watching you getting busy 😂 And next year seems it’ll be busier still what with the new channel! Subbed already and enjoyed the mince pie video. Thanks for all the content here and all the best with the new channel. I’d better get on with that mincemeat mix prep… Cheers!
Badgertastic! Out of interest, RUclips recommended this channel to me, before I watched your Badger Workshop update video or knew about this channel. I thought, wait a minute, that looks like Badger Matt, and jumped on in. It appears that the algorythym is smiling upon you.
Always wondered what was in a minced pie. I have not ever had one. The term mince “meat” made me think it was beef. Ooops. Those look really good! Love the star tops. I am going to make some now. So glad you started this channel. Merry!
@jennybarnes4806 Thanks for the note. I looked it up and can see how mince meat pie has changed over the years. I read it had goose and beef tongue in it at one time. Oh my.
Interesting to watch your mincemeat recipe, Matt which is very close to my own. I like to add slivered almonds to mine for a little bit more texture. I was surprised you didn't cook the mixture a little before putting it into the jars. I heat mine through on a very low heat for an hour, then add the brandy. Anyway, it looked very nice and one thing's for sure, once you make your own, you'll never buy a jar from the supermarket again. 😊
Although I am no cook, I really enjoyed this Matt. Not a Bosch tool in sight!! Just love the presentation and you have worked so hard to get it all together. Great Stuff Chef. Bob (Weston super mare)
Place the lemon and orange peels in a small pot with any herbal tea bag and let it infuse on a simmer. Quite lovely and gives it another use before you toss the peels.
Very well done Matt, continuing with the great standard that we have come to enjoy from your Badger Workshop channel. These mince pies surely looked delicious, but I cant help but wonder if they needed a good sanding down before painting with the egg varnish...
Excellent video. You sipping that brandy brought to mind Keith Floyd. Looking forward to more cooking videos, maybe you can do some videos on basic kitchen techniques, like knife skills, chopping/ sharpening? Keep up the good work.
Move over "Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall" Matt has entered the kitchen! Great video matt , wishing you all the best of luck. PS the mince pies look awesome too!
Fantastic video matt. As an ex chef myself I really enjoy the kitchen /workshop, as it's all creative as is my job(heating engineer) great job great new channel can't wait for more content.
Fantastic Matt, we very much enjoyed that, love mince pies and those looked really yummy 😋. Subbed & good luck with this new channel. Surely your Mum will watch this one 😂
Great content Matt, I watch your woodworking all the time. Be great to see you make some solid oak worktop to replace the grey one there ;) I'm also liking the removal of the kitchen cupboards in favour of the shelves, hmm, might suggest it to the wife :D Keep it up
Like the new channel Matt. Made me laugh when the woodworker Matt said thickness of pastry rolled to 2mm. Can I ask wether you could make a gluten free bread? I’ve tried several times without luck. Think I need to stay in my workshop😁
Thank you. She is definitely well organised! Love the new channel by the way - me and the missus only watch three youtube channels together and you're now 2/3 of that list (Scott Brown is the other one).
Heard you talking about your time as a chef on the podcast, I did wonder how long it might be before you started doing some cooking videos. Best of luck with the 2nd channel.
Hi Matt, congratulations on the new channel, Inknow it will be as successful as your woodworking channel, sadly I do not like Xmas mince pies, I have also subscribed to this channel, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
@@KitchenRamblings-in5py cool thanks. Loving the kitchen. i want to upgrade ours. Thinking outside the box of the traditional top cabinets and use shelving instead is an inspiration :)
Really fantastic video. Not too complicated and really easy to watch. Out of interest, have you taken some kind of class recently on video production? The artistic quality of your videos have really gone up a notch recently.
I'm disappointed you abandoned this channel. I love your cooking adventures as much as your woodworking.
Woodworking Matt sent me….
Glad you listened to him
They look great ,very talented, and you never look harassed, either in the workshop or kitchen very impressed
Thank you very much
I really like making open mince tarts then topping with icing once cooked instead of a pastry top.
Inspired me to take on woodworking. Now inspired me to get back into the kitchen. Fantastic Matt. And thank you.
Thank you. Enjoy doing some cooking
I like DIY and Cooking they are both creating so I’m not surprised your doing cookery videos and the first one was great! Thanks

It's about time you shared your chef skills on video ❤

Love the new channel. What a kitchen conversion. Just a thought - how about doing some food that's Slimming World friendly?
Great video - you've inspired me to step out of the workshop and do some baking. I won't be filming it though - it would be ten minutes of outtakes with a few things I got right added at the end! Good luck with the channel.

Perfectly pretty pies! I’m sure they’re delicious too. As an American I’ve never had a mince pie but I think it’s time to make it.

I have never tried making it. But I will have to give it a go
Tell you have an Amazon list for your cooking equipment? 😊
I will have to create one
My wife is making the pastry as I type (mincemeat was made in October). You mentioned to bake at 200C - was that for a fan oven?
You are well organised. Yes 200 in a fan oven
Thank you. She is definitely well organised! Love the new channel by the way - me and the missus only watch three youtube channels together and you're now 2/3 of that list (Scott Brown is the other one).
Pleased to see you drink Yorkshire Tea lad. Good luck with new channel. Great idea 👍
Definitely the best tea
Heard you talking about your time as a chef on the podcast, I did wonder how long it might be before you started doing some cooking videos. Best of luck with the 2nd channel.

Loved the vlog, can I ask where you got the bun tin from please 😊
Thank you. Sorry I can’t see a makers mark on it
Subscribed. Aww man I love mince pies. Never liked them for years till I tried them a couple of years ago and no I work next to a Greggs.
Thank you. I was the same. Now I can't get enough

Yeah Badger kitchen channel!!! 🎉. Is this in your house? Or your mom’s kitchen?
It’s in my house
Hi Matt, congratulations on the new channel, Inknow it will be as successful as your woodworking channel, sadly I do not like Xmas mince pies, I have also subscribed to this channel, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Thank you. I never used to like them
Hope this gets some traction.
Thank you. So do i
cool vid. :) Do have you got an alternative to brandy? I don't drink alcohol or buy it. would be much appreciated thanks :)
You can just leave it out. Maybe add a little more orange juice
@@KitchenRamblings-in5py cool thanks. Loving the kitchen. i want to upgrade ours. Thinking outside the box of the traditional top cabinets and use shelving instead is an inspiration :)

Similar ingredients and smells to Chelsea Scrolls!
Really fantastic video. Not too complicated and really easy to watch. Out of interest, have you taken some kind of class recently on video production? The artistic quality of your videos have really gone up a notch recently.
Thank you. I have been using two cameras in the kitchen
Now, do you think Keith can cook?
I think he is quite a keen cook
@KitchenRamblings-in5py a spin off podcast?
So what other skills are you gonna demonstrate in your 3rd channel? 😂
Haha I’m running out of skills
