This movie is so iconic. It showed where Indy got his iconic hat, why he started using a whip, and how he developed his fear of snakes. It also showed him as a teenager, which was so impressive it spawned a very successful TV show. And the addition of Sean Connery as his father was perfect. They had great on screen chemistry. I just love these ladies. Constantly remarking how daring our heroes are, and never considering their own daring in watching a movie they know full well is going to scare the bejeezus out of them. You are MY heroes, girls.
The banter Indy shares with his father is heartwarming and the best part of the film. Be it Indy infiltrating a castle to rescue him or Jones Sr. expressing grief at believing his son fell to his death with the tank despite their sometimes rocky relations, this is a perfect father/son adventure movie.
I like how their adventure is fantastic, but their resolution in their relationship is quite realistic. Their dysfunction isn’t resolved all that much, but they do gain more appreciation for each other (and realized there was already more there than they thought). Seeing that they still have things they haven’t worked out with each other always felt genuine to me.
Hello Movie Munchies!!! Hey guys !!!! 😄 The third film is Spielber and Lucas' favorite (and mine too). Young Indiana Jones was played by River (Jude) Phoenix, who sadly died in 1993.
River was the big brother of actor Joaquin Phoenix, the villain Commodus, from Gladiator. 3:42 this scene serves to explain Indy's phobia of snakes, while the scene with the lion 4:16 explains how Indy got the scar on his chin. (Actor Harrison Ford actually has a scar on his chin, the result of a car accident in his youth). Sean Connery (Indy's father) was the first 007/James Bond in cinema and the actors' age difference is 12 years. 37:59 Indiana is the name of George Lucas' dog, creator of the Indiana Jones and Star Wars saga. Lucas loved driving with the Indiana as his co-pilot. (Incredible how this dog was responsible for creating two iconic cinema characters: Indiana Jones and Chewbacca from Star Wars). I hope you understand my rusty English. 😅😅
This movie's plot is based on the Arthurian Grail legends. Many medieval motifs play out, such as Indy storming a castle (Brünwald), jousting (the motorcycle chase), and fighting a fire-breathing dragon (the tank). The Holy Grail is the colloquial term for the cup used in the Last Supper and is one of the 2 symbols of the Eucharist, alongside the Communion Host. Some legends say the same cup was used to collect Jesus' blood after his heart was pierced on the Cross, which is where Spielberg and Lucas got the "drinking from the Grail gives eternal life" thing.
@@davestang5454 AFAIK Spielberg and Lucas combined the Holy Grail with the Fountain of Youth for this. Also it isn't really eternal life as you must constantly drink from the Grail and can never leave the temple.
The scene where Indiana Jones and his father are tied to the chair while everything is burning around them. Indiana Jones tells his dad head for the fireplace which is ironic because it's the safest place to be from the fire is the fireplace 😂😂😂
And that's the third and final movie in the Indiana Jones trilogy, and it's my favorite of the three. Did I mention there are only three movies? Yep, no more Indiana Jones movies after this one.
0:50 Don't worry you two, there are no snakes in this film. ;) 3:26 "Oh shit..." That sounded adorable. 3:48 He pulled a snake out of his pants. :) 4:20 Chi: There's a snake on the wall...! :D
ELSA DIDNT LET IT GO!!! amazing, i saw this film when it first came out and many times since, and i never realised the connection with Frozen. amazing reaction again!!!
Ladies, the kid in the beginning of the movie is Indiana Jones, the old guy that kind of dressed like Indy is the person who's style he copied when he grew up.
Threw me for a loop too until she mentioned hearing it in another series. Then I remembered that she's seen How I Met Your Mother (recognising Neil Patrick Harris/Barney Stinson from Starship troopers) and memories of the 'You Chose...' episode came flooding back
I mean it's not the worst thing but transparency would help, other reactors say "hey i saw it a while ago" or "i do know a few lines" but their whole channel is foreign girls react like they're completely new to these.
5:22-Lotsa fun watching you girls scream your way through the opening..Now you know How Indy got the hat, learned how to use a whip and his hatred of snakes. Sadly, the actor playing young Indy , River Phoenix, died at 25. He was really good already and would've went on to be great. ( He was born/raised about 100 miles away from me in Madras, Oregon)
The other River Phoenix movie that these girls _must_ watch is _Stand By Me,_ after which they will know everything they need to know about my childhood. Other than the fact that it's set in the early 60's instead of the mid 70's, this movie could be a biography about me. I even grew up in Castle Rock Washington, close enough to Oregon as to make no difference. (Note that less than 20 miles from Castle Rock Washington is the little town of Vader. I'm not even kidding. Look at a map.)
Everyone talks about the chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery, but to me the prologue with River Phoenix as the young Indy is the movie's true highlight.
@OzBaxter To be honest, I always found this to be one of the lesser entries. It just felt like a mimic of Raiders to me. Plus the humor felt way too forced for me, like the stamp scene and the "Go between them" bit.

Watching you guys reminds me of seeing them for the first time. Watching you discover them is a new experience and always worth watching. This was actually my introduction to the series a few years ago and it got me into series. It also made me happy to learn this is the fan favorite of the series. And (to many) the very last one in the series. 😅
I love this movie. It's right up there with the first one for me. Not only is the action good, but the humor is timeless. It's just as funny today as when it opened. I've heard the "No ticket" line a bunch of times.
The neat thing is that the actor who played Jones Senior, Sean Connery, was the original actor who played James Bond. In the scene where he's shot by Donovan, he is shot with a Walther PPK, the same kind of gun James Bond used in most of the series.
Ladies.😭. Young Indiana is River Phoenix. In those years he was one of the best. You have to watch his movies. " I Love you to Death" & "Dogfight" are amazing. He's no longer with us, if he were alive, he would be the one playing Indiana.
34:37 I really like that part that it wasn't magic but just an illusion. 35:35 "You chose, poorly." Is Hella the knight. 37:33 Yes exactly. Sad scene. 700 years he waited alone for this. :( 38:21 Perfect ending for a movie trilogy. Great story. Such a fantastic film.
These where the original trilogy of the Indiana Jones saga. The next 2 are not all that great if you decide to indulge in them. I saw this movie in the theather and I couldn't stop laughing. The onscreen chemistry between the 2 Indies was what made this movie so enjoyable. Once again great reaction from my favorite Vietnamese girls.
This is my favorite of the three. The father-son dynamic is played very well. Note that Sean Connery was the original James Bond in the movies, so this character is completely different from the world's greatest spy and yet he was totally convincing. What a way to end the trilogy, riding off into the sunset! Great reaction!
Pat Roach, who was the muscular Nazi in _Raiders_ and the tall Thuggee overseer in _Temple of Doom,_ is also in this, although most of the footage that had him in it was cut from the final film. He is briefly seen accompanying Ernst Vogel to the Zeppelin.
