Just figured out both these solos. Slash really knows how to let those pentatonics scream! Like always great lesson! Now on to Sweet child o mine solo. Thats gonna take a little practice lol.
Thanks for the excellent video. Thanks for putting tabs along the bottom. Thanks for getting it CORRECT. Thank you. Learned both solos in about 15 minutes thanks to common sense videos like yours. P.S. No need for the intense bends on the last part of the 2nd solo 1:29 It sounds better if you just do a delayed slide for each note. Change just before each strike and you'll get that slide "wah" sound that you're trying to imitate with the extreme bends. Thanks again, awesome job
I always love this guys videos. It must take a long time to make these videos. I think im going to redo all of the sweet child o mine song just because you taught it different :D
i'm learning this it's awesum :) but is it just me or does it sound a bit better at 0:50 if after the bend on 19 instead of 19,19,19 it goes 19,19,18? O.o please answer :)
This would be great if you were in the right tuning and, therefore, playing on the correct frets. It SOUNDS perfect when you play with the CD and didn't feel like downtuning (the actual recording is played in E minor). But, this is useless if I want to play it live and the rest of the band is in the same tuning as I am. Why would I want to take the time to learn a solo where every single note is a half-step off?
+Jaymz Bondurant To play in the slash tone without downtuning your guitar every time ? And your band should play it downtuning too if ou want to sound like g n'r. So only you care about where you plays on the fretboard if you play in the right tone with your band
+Yonino ! That makes no sense. No matter you're tuning, the solo would ALWAYS start on the same fret. Otherwise, you'd be out of key. The only way you could play it this way is if your rhythm guitarist was out of tune by half a step. Why in the world wouldn't you and the rest of your band be in tune with each other? Here's a little experiment: Play the solo this way. Now start over and play the rhythm. You can't do it. You have to tune down. But now you can't play the solo. See the problem? It's impossible to play without one guitarist going out of tune (which is ridiculous for obvious reasons).
I think we're misunderstood. Downtuning the guitar and play it with the "normal" frets is the exact same than NOT downtuning the guitare and playing the solo a halfstep lower. Exact same. The only problem is when you want to really learn and understand keys and all. It's not usefull and helpfull to play those keys in the wrong frets.
But if you are not downtuning and playing it half step lower and your rythm guitarist which is downtuned and playing it "normally", goes to the exact same. If the downtuning is well done

+Yonino ! But, that's my point. Your rhythm guitarist should NEVER be in a different tuning than you. That's nuts.
should have lowered the sound of the music and let the guitar sound louder! but I am very good
@slash98080 no me gusta espanol
