I cant explain in english, how i want to say "thanks" for your unbelieveable job! I have learned 6 songs by your lessons and this solo is the best for me in all music! Thank you, friend! Really thank you! You get me chance to feel this unbelieveable emotion!
Been working on this song for a couple days now. I have watched just about every video and looked up every version of this solo... this video was by far the best of them all. Perfectly laid out so I can see the tab and your playing. This version of the tab is also my favorite version to play, feels much more comfortable... ly numb.
This is the best video I've seen so far for this solo. I like the way you played it slowly with the tabs, then at regular speeds. This is going to help a lot, and I think you've got it pretty spot on.
I had lost faith ... Bt now with ur video lesson I hav a second chance .. Now I can play this solo better than b4 .. I'm still practicing n watching ur video at the sametime!! Thank u!! Keep it up!!!
This is by far the best Comfortably Numb instruction video I have found. I am very happy I have found it. King really understands how to instruct someone,. King: thanks for this inspirational video I will work on this lesson until I can play it like you do! I wish you had something simular for Gary Moore's Empty Rooms which is the other great solo I would like to learn.
Great rendition. There are only a few on youtube that have this solo down. You are one of them. Fantastic! I hope to get right someday in the near future. Thank you!
Very nicely played, and good lesson, its took me 9 days to get this correct and in time. Its the last quick run it throws me every cos its slightly different to the rest. This way of teaching on the net is the best in my opinion. People will say the tabs wrong because they dont realise the amount of skill it takes to make it sound right. The only way this lesson could be any better would be if you played the example slow parts even slower, although i do understand that this can be hard to do.
Thank you so much for your lesson. It looked almost impossible for me to pull off this solo as I started playing only 2 months ago. But your lesson gives me hope for the future. At least at this point, I can play the solo slightly slower than the slow motion :) But I get the feeling. Again thanx, I appreciate your time.
Wowwww! You're a GREAT PLAYER and a GREAT TEACHER! Your video is very well done and it helped me a lot! Thank you very much and go teaching on the tube! :)
Thanks for not saying a bunch obvious stuff for 20 minutes. I saw another video where he kept talking about tone and whammy. Dammit, just show me the solo and shut up, ha!
Lau Aversa do Brazil
Thank you Adam. I enjoyed the lesson and you have made it very easy to get through. Some of these critics are the same wanna b's I see at guitar center playing stuff in Dropped D tuning. No talent and numbing to the ears. Lol. Keep rockin buddy!
It is a amazing and the best video lesson I hav ever seen. Could you please teach us how you get such great sound which is alomost like gilmour.s sound and tell us about your gig setup. you are great and thanks for every things you have done for all of us. God bless you.
Thanks a lot! I also had the wrong notion that this solo is beyond me, but now I play it pretty much close to the original. If by any chance you like the smiths, I would really appreciate the intro for "this charming man" by Jonny Mahr- my favorite guitarist..
@IamSteve96 (Unless someone's already answered this for you), he's using the 'pinch harmonic' technique, where he picks the note using the very tip of the plectrum and edge of his thumb.. It's very difficult to explain, I'm sure you can search videos for the technique on here :)
I just read some of the comments on here 1 hes not gilmore his vibrato is naturally different, it is cool and unique. 2 the bends are correct he is bending to the correct note ( just seams different when he plays it slow. 3 his timing and feel is spot on even gilmore cannot play it like this these days. The solo was not a pure improvisation in the studio it took a lot of thinking and working out by gilmore. I believe it was six solos chopped up and put into the bars via recording software. Iv
@serban277 Its pinch harmonic. If you dont know what one is...well its hard to explain how to do it, you are best looking for a lesson. there are plenty of them. Its pretty hard to get right at first, but after a few days it should click and you can do them at a whim. Great fun!
hey man thanks so so much. been meaning to learn this for ages. tried tabs, tried vids. couldnt even start it. but your combo works great. your not rushing at all. thanks leanred almost all of part 1 in a hour session. any chance of posting the extended pulse section to this solo? cheers man
All parts (played in full speed)
part 1 - 2:54
part 2 - 4:40
part 3 - 6:28
