- Welcome back to the Metal Detecting NYC channel! I changed strategies this year and the signature find in this video proves that. When I metal detect the beach in the past, I spent most of my time during low tide in the swimming area. I have ignored the dry beach. I realized that it takes a while to get people swimming. The water temperature has to warm up and there has to be good weather (especially on weekends). In this video you will see me pull some beautiful jewelry with my XP Deus 2 metal detector in the dry section of the beach.

It's always a thrill to find jewelry with diamonds in it. My best to date is a .25 carat near flawless diamond ring. So cool. 😊

Your beach is paying off better than the one I frequent down here in Delaware. Congrats on the finds - I've got 2 of those "Angel" pendants, but mine weren't silver.

so did the diamonds pass a test? I really wouldn't expect diamonds in a junk plated piece. It never fails to stun me for what people will pay for junk jewelry ... or even designer real jewelry that only contains a small amount of precious metals just to have a brand on them.

I'm looking at this Hurricane Beryl.... The beaches are packed down there for the holiday. Now the hurricane moving things??? Then I thinking? Ya. The tropical storms are about the only thing that moves the sand in the gulf....🤔

You probably know that that key fob has a tag that can help Nissan ID the owner. The Nissan Fob is about $350 brand new, so if they can get it to work they may want it back.

I'm by Lake Erie in Ohio & I Can Dig the Beaches There but it's Not a Tidal Lake However ; it does Have Consistent Waves.
Any tips on What to Look for w/ no High/low Tide? ps. it's full of Black sand & Iron.
Ive always wanted to detect the Great Lakes! So fascinating that there are waves. That means that the fetch is significant enough for that to happen. oceanservice.noaa.gov/education/tutorial_currents/03coastal1.html#:~:text=Wave%20height%20is%20affected%20by,of%20wind%20duration%20or%20fetch.

Oh no! I hope it gets to you soon. For the fourth, I went to the beaches but ONLY A FEW were in the water. The water temperature is in the high 60's here!

Also, did you test the “diamonds” they don’t look set in place rather glued in. Don’t appear to have any prongs or channel settings. That to me would right off the bat tell me they prob aren’t of anything substantial. Still cool though. Nice find.
So the weather in clearwater beach FL on the 4th of July is 91 degrees with a water temp in the 80s+ what day was this hunt? Seems weird to have a springtime hunt video in summer.
This hunt was less than a week ago. The water temperature in NYC right now is still in the 60’s.

Ever wondered why so many zinkers end up on our beaches? I wonder where the gold is usually at compared to the different coins and why that happens.
I was talking to Terry Shannon about movement of objects and he thinks it happens constantly. Im in the camp now that there needs to be sufficient wind which fuels water movement. Sufficient wind happens every month but more frequently at the end of the summer and months late in the year. I think a lot of people see a zinc signal and skip it, but I have found a lot of gold at zinc numbers.

You can clearly see a makers mark right under the bottom row of diamonds , have a closer look . Seriously how can you not see that ?

How do you research the makers mark on silver and gold.
Say you found a silver ring that says for example “HK .925” on it. Put in Google “silver ring makers mark HK” then hit search.
Then see what turnd up, and also do an image search.

Someday all the junk you find metal detecting will be selling as valuable collectible artifacts. "Rare highly prized ancient bottle caps, only 6000 dollars each." Maybe aluminum will become so rare in the future that can slaw and pull tabs will be what everyone desperately looks for?
