Thanks for the update! One downside off installing the underground pipes and cables now is that they could end up being significantly deeper depending on how much the roads are raised. Future repairs and maintenance may be more challenging and expensive. They may even need to use shoring boxes from a safety perspective. Would be nice if they could install pipes and cables outside the boundary of the roads.

ES great job. I feel it for them, but if the roads wasnt being done they would complain about the road conditions and not about the dust.

In the last town hall meeting, Dr. Stephen Shaw did say there are going issues with the dust, but even I still think they need to wet the road a few times a day

Any residual salt water from the swamp should flush out from inside of the pipe during initial start up and testing. Rust inside pipes is generally caused by a bunch of other factors.

When the French were building the highway between Port Antonio and Negril there was also a lot of dust and inconvenience. If CHEC is able to do what they have done elsewhere, the inconvenience will be temporary and the road will last over 10 years.
Nuff respect to the residents of the area. We understand the level of inconvenience.

The French didn't build any highway from Negril to Port Antonio? From Negril to Montego Bay was a contractor from South Korea, Montego Bay to Ochi Rios contractor from Argentina and from Ochi to Port Antonio a contractor from Denmark.

@@waynemcfarlane1233 The highway was built by a French company called Bouygues Construction. I followed the project closely. It was the pet project of then Prime Minister PJ Patterson. If you google Bouygues Construction Highway 2000, you will see for yourself.

Looking good. Water table high for real. How did they managed to get the right compaction density during backfill? Are they using the special concrete mixture anywhere for backfill that Mr. Anderson mentioned in the last townhall?
