4:00 It's surprising that you found this place and not many tourists knew about it (even the local Chinese). FYI, this is a very old temple why back in KL before KLCC was built, if not mistaken more than 100 years. The food canteen (vegetarian) were run by volunteers to cook and prepare food for the less fortunate people, of course public can go there too and pay at a fee as donation to the monastery as well. Thank you.
Malaysian cuisines famous with strong flavors and unique taste Being “approved” by Italian is something next level. Italian palate is hard to satisfy. The lucky part is, both Italian and Malaysian love strong flavor food and quite picky about food quality standard.. It is hard to say NO for Malaysian dishes when even the street food were something mind blowing tasty, what must be the restaurants’ one. Bellasimo🎉
@matandangie many countries in South east asia do not hv vegan or vegetarian food options like us. We can eat in temples or stalls. No need fancy restaurants
Asam boi is a type of dried sour plum often salted but in a drink they make an excellent natural electrolyte drink, never seen or had the ice cream version but the effects should be the same. I suppose it taste like a sorbet.
wow, i don't even know some of these places. i have to go try them. thanks for sharing, they all looks great and i'm glad you are enjoying vegan food in k.l.
Go and try them all!! 🤩 to discover vegan restaurants in new places we use HappyCow, the app can be downloaded for a fee, but the website is comp free and so useful 🥳 maybe you can discover even more places 🥰🥰
Malaysian food is all about experimenting with your own terms. You can Mix and divide anything in your plate the way you want, that's the beauty of it ❤
Exactly. There is no set rule, no definite rule. Just let your palate do the exploration. Just make sure that not only your stomach feel satisfied but your tongue, your lips, your teeth, your gums, your mucosa and your taste buds are all equally satisfied. That's it.
Thank you! We actually tried Jalan Alor street Market 😊 the video about it is now online 🤩 where can we find vegan versions of Ramli Burger and Roti John? 🥰
Imagine editing the vlog 😂 the most difficult part of the food tours is actually the editing process ‘cause when we edit them we have no more that food in our stomach 😂🤣
We enjoy watching your videos and you both get to work hard! I also heard from other RUclipsrs that behind the scenes, it is indeed a tough job! Oh yeah. I hope every new countries will compensate all these hard works😊 I hope you both had enjoyed K.L and next time do visit my beautiful state, Sabah!
Thanks for the tip, we’ll definitely add it to our travel bucket list! It’s definitely a full time job but we still love it so much that most of the times doesn’t feel like “working” and we are still doing it just with our savings 😅
Hi Both :) Great video! Can I ask how much money you recommend taking for food for a week and were you able to use card at the shops/restaurants? Thanks in advance
As a Malaysian, I only scoop adequate amount of curry or any sauce to the rice, first the curry taste is intense and secondly I don't want to turn my rice into risotto curry 😅
I see a lot of comments saying no about the curry. But there is no rules on how you eat in Malaysia. Eat as you like here, people won’t complain as long as you have a good time and if it make it more tastier why not????
In Malaysia, if you're served a rice dish with many side dishes and condiments, usually you're expected to mix them up and eat them all together in one spoonful.😂😊
The Hungry Tapir and Kusa are the best vegan restaurants. Seems you missed the first one. Also you should have tried the ramen soup in Kusa, its their best seller.
All strange tasted foods are only strange when you had it for the first time. Go for the 2nd time and the 3rd time and so on and you will soon feel strange to see people who do not like them. 😁

some of vegan food is highly processed and spiked with a lot of artificial additives such as taste and chemical based texture enhancer, go for real vege and beans, lentils instead of those soya based processed products
Totally agree.. our usual vegan diet is whole grains, legumes, veggies and fruit plus seeds and nuts. But when we eat out we like to indulge even in vegan processed food guilt free, we don’t like to stress too much about health cause personally I, Mat, have found in the past that doing so affects my general mental health and happiness. And to me that’s really important more than the fact of how bad it is to eat some junk food once in a while 😅

That’s so good about Malaysia 😍🤩

True but we are always scared of eggs and milk (butter) at vegetarian stalls 😅
No need to pour all the curry onto the rice just scoop bit by bit to suit your taste
