Great series, really helpful. It's the little things that you don't even know you're doing wrong. It might sound silly but those couple of mins on how to eject the shells - very useful thank you!
I saw a post that you made a while back on the Shotgun World forum and I started watching your videos!!! Every video I have watched of yours is spot on. I have learned a lot from you!!! Thank you from South Louisiana!!!
Excellent stuff as always Lloyd. I always open the gun towards my stomach to trap the cartridges there. I will send this video to my new shooting friends Harry (14) and his dad Paul. Harry only started shooting last weekend and yesterday he and dad turned up in the bitter cold and cutting wind to do another two hours of DTL here in France. Top marks to them. Harry is eager to learn all he can at the moment so your videos will help him immensely.
I really enjoy taking friends out who are "clay curious", what you have done here Lloyd is make a video that I will now ask them to watch the night before. I will re-emphasise it all at the ground but this is really useful mate thank you.
Fantastic video! Just recently started clay pigeon shooting and in love with the sport! Thankful for these videos, fun, highly informative, and straight to the point (with excellent production quality) Many thanks & best wishes
great video. safety is 100% paramount and something that really needs to be emphasized to new shooters. And also im glad you showed the proper method for emptying the gun. it has to be the most common frustration when around new shooters
Brilliantly informative as always. Production quality seems to have really stepped up a notch recently, loving your content Lloyd. A series like this has been sorely missing from RUclips for too long. You’ve got the balance between the fun of the sport and the seriousness of collective safety perfect. Nice one mate
Great video Lloyd, might I suggest a bit about miss fires or more importantly no fires?. The amount of people I see who don't have a clue what to do when it happens, just a thought
I thought about mentioning that but I feel like a newbie shouldn't have to think about dealing with that, an experienced shot should step in at that point.
@@lloydyp I agree, and that's my point. They don't know to stay pointing down range and waiting 20/30 seconds before opening the gun, I've seen many open the gun straight away before anyone had chance to tell them otherwise. just a thought, keep up the great content
Really interesting, thanks. I only started scooting this summer and I’m learning loads from this series. I’ve also shared with some of my shooting friends.
Lloyd I appreciate it just an overview but I think it's important to say when checking a forearm you need to say / feel or do an action that confirms the chamber is clear/empty that's the point that needs to be emphasised or reinforced As always cracking & informative as ever thanks😁
I'm sending this to all my friends that shoot sporting clays. I enjoy all you put out here it doesn't matter I'm watching. Tomarrow is my last tornament shoot then I'll be working in the field judging some fun shoots its the end of the year winding down. Lloyd how can one get that hat your wearing. I live across the pond in Maryland. Close to a lot of great sporting clay facilities
I am working on something with regards to the hat, I will let you all know when that comes to fruition. Thanks for sharing the vid around, make sure they subscribe :)
Lloyd, as a loyal long term subscriber of yours, can I steal the opportunity on one of your less busy videos to ask you a simple question? Gamebore White Gold or Gamebore (Black Gold) Dark Storm for clay shooting? - is their ANY advantage using the Dark Storm over the White Gold for the price difference in your opinion?? (DS are 100 fps faster than WG I believe?)- cheers Lloyd, Dale 💥💥👍👍 Let me tell you what I think you'll say to me .... 'There is a tiny advantage using a faster and smoother cartridge like GB 'Dark Storm' - it depends on how deep your pockets are as to whether the tiny advantage is justified' - Am I somewhere close to the answer you would give maybe ???
My view on cartridges for 90% of shooters is that you should shoot the cheapest cartridge you can find. Premium cartridges offer an advantage on certain targets, but you will get more benefit out of practicing more with the money you save from not wasting it on Black Gold.
Lioyd, your safety briefing from 3.00 was exemplary. You covered all the bases that someone with no experience of guns/shooting would be able to understand and digest. Well done mate.
Great informative video! Thanks! Also do you need to put gun in slip between stands on sporting ground or can you walk to next sporting stand with gun broken but out of slip? Thanks
Good common sense, and would say it's not only new to the sport that can learn from this. You pass a driving test, and then bad habits creep/lazyness in. Nothing like reinforcing the reasons why it's done.
Thanks for this Video. I am new to shooting and this is the vid i wanted to watch. I want to be known for being safe and getting it right 1st time. I dont care if i hit or miss a clay. I want to get the safe regime into me as 2nd nature. I would rather be known as a shit shot but safe. than a good shot and dangerous.
Excellent tuition, just got back into shooting after 30yrs great job.
Thank you 😊
Great series, really helpful. It's the little things that you don't even know you're doing wrong. It might sound silly but those couple of mins on how to eject the shells - very useful thank you!
Not silly at all, I see new shooters all the time struggling with stuff like this as it's rarely taught. That's why I made the video.
Great universal video on safety. 👍🏻

Question - do English clubs not supply simple shooting vests for beginners? These make it super-easy to manage cartridges and empties.
Not usually, no. If you are on a shooting lesson, yes, but if you just turn up to shoot at most clubs, not so much.
Lioyd, your safety briefing from 3.00 was exemplary. You covered all the bases that someone with no experience of guns/shooting would be able to understand and digest. Well done mate.

Hi loyd you want to do a safety clay shoot with autos I see a lot of people use them and not safe
Yeah I need to do a seperate vid on Semi Autos.
Beautiful wood on the P gun. What length is on those barrels?
32 inch, go watch the making of video on my channel.
Great informative video! Thanks! Also do you need to put gun in slip between stands on sporting ground or can you walk to next sporting stand with gun broken but out of slip? Thanks
Imo gun slips are not compulsory as long as the gun is broken, however some people can be funny about it. Some clubs even have a rule.
@@lloydyp So guessing Bywell are ok with walking from stands provided gun is broken? oh and "Please send me a Woodie Hoodie" :-)
@@moton.v8412 yeah of course, I've never been to a ground in the north east where there is a slip rule but I know that there are clubs out there.
