Nice to see someone else using a cartridge belt bag. I get funny looks when I put mine on most of the time. It's just so convenient!
Indeed, I just dont get on with vests, never have.
They're quite common in the US, especially if one reloads.
Great video Lloyd, I'm always sadly interested in what other people carry when out shooting. One thing I rarely see anyone carry or talk about is a first aid kit, out of habit I carry a bleeds kit (simple pressure dressing, some gauze, gloves, tough cuts etc,) and a small 'boo boo' kit of plasters and wipes. I know shooting is safe, and accidents are rare, but being first aid trained I'd rather have a few bits on me 'just in case'.
Fair comment. I always assume that the club or ground will have first aid equipment on hand. I would say that everyone right now should also be carrying hand sanitizer and a mask...
Thank you for your time sir.
My pleasure
I used Randolphs XLW, went to pilla this year. Never been happier
Nice one :)
I used to have one off the cheeper Randolph ranger and went to the Pilla outlaws this year and I don’t ever want to go back to anything else
interesting, what didnt you like about the REs?
I’ve been intrigued by that cartridge bag for ages and bought a canvas alternative at this years shooting show purely because it was all I could find. It does the job so I can’t justify buying another for £120 - but I’m working on it. Great video.
Thanks man.
I carry a 3 piece cleaning rod, you never know when you can get a bad cartridge and a wad stuck in the barrel nice to see you travel light 😉
lol always.
Very hard not to like Hull Cartridges. 👍
You will get no disagreement from me.
Everything but the kitchen sink. My range bag includes; cartridges, water, microfibre cloth, 1 pilla lens, sunscreen. When shhoting comp I try to stay as light as possible. Keep room for lightweight roll up rain poncho if needed.
I always have waterproofs but they live in my boot rather than in the bag. I could do another quick vid on my chosen shooting clothing I suppose.
nice and practical. I glad I'm not the only one that carries a bag with "essentials". I do admire the cartridge bag, quite popular here in Qld. I usually use the large pockets of my shooting vest. I like the idea of the bag but not the price. Expensive out here. well done.
Thanks John.
see now imo the bore snake is a game changer, so simple and gets my barrels squeaky clean in as little as 1 pull through on each barrel,.
I am afraid I don't believe you are getting all the lead and plastic fouling out of the forcing cones with a pull through.
@@lloydyp my barrels are spotless lloyd, and i use 1 good spray of napier decreaser and 1 pull through on each barrel and they perfect. I only shoot 150 carts each so often tho, not like a chuck 400 a weekend through it
Boresnakes/Pull throughs do not clean your barrels!!! All they do is smear the bore. Nothing beats correct bore cleaner and brushes. Have a good one
@@d-rayphelps1630 let me tell you, a blast of napier barrel cleaner in each barrel and 1 pull through on each barrel with the boresnake and they are squeaky clean like a mirror
My kit is nearly identical, but instead of the large box for glasses, I also have a small ginsmithing toolbox. Includes punches, screwdrivers and a small hammer with 3 interchangeable heads. I'll look for your review on defenders, can't wait to see it!
Thank you John.
Nice rundown, I love my macwets and the owner of the company is second to none
Never a truer word.
Thanks for your great vids! I’d love to see a comparison between different shooting specs and maybe an in-depth review of Pilla’s. Also I’m looking forward to your review of the new Browning B725S. Maybe also a little legal info. I live in Belgium. If I have a European weapon pass can I come to the UK to visit one of your great shooting grounds and bring my gun? Has anything changed since Brexit? Thanks.
Thanks man, Pilla video definitely on the way. Sorry ref EU Firearms pass as I twould need to research that for you, I have no idea how this currently works off the top of my head.
I carry a cleaning kit with rods incase I ever get a barrel obstruction (hopefully I'll never need to use it!), and always carry my license, plenty of cartridges obviously, and a spare hearing protection - I currently use Walkers Razor Slim Electronic which I think are great value for money!
Good shout.
When I first saw you uploaded this I thought 'I bet Lloyd's got a range finder in his bag' haha
lol but why?
@@lloydyp I genuinely have no idea why whice made it funny when I found out you actually do have one lol
Hi Lloyd, any chance on a video for very newbies how to look after your gun? Here you show a spray, grease, cloths, would be great to show the very new to shooting how to use these I’m guessing critical bits of kit for regular maintenance. But then there must also be a monthly cleaning schedule? Thanks in advance.

Hi Lloyd I’ve Just acquired the new browning 725S, I’d like to here your thoughts On the gun. I’ve always shot Beretta but shot this at my local clay ground and fell for it So purchased one couple weeks ago scores are up already.
Thanks Duncan. I am on a promise to get one sent over for review but with the lockdown I haven't spoken to Browning in months. I might give them a bellband see what's what.
"Self sufficient" aka not big idle barr-stards. We have been known to actually walk more than 300 yards within a 24 hour period, while carrying stuff. Imagine that.
I’ve been shooting randal ranger specs for nearly 2 years. I love them, really nice. But I’ve not been able to compare them to Pilla’s
I know loads of people who swear by them, but I have been unable to get any to test.
I’ve got the Ranger Edge’s and a pair of Pilla Outlaw 6’s. I prefer the rangers - i suspect its the tint. HD lens in the rangers and the blue “bank kit” in the Pillas.
Roadbull not sure why pilla did blue lens for clays, the colour shift is kind of offputting but everyone’s eyes are different.
Lloyd Pattison I have red/green deficiency , the blue does make the orange pop for me but I’m thinking of trying one of their red or cherry options.
Wraparounds, also suggestion on gloves, and ear protection
Gloves, Macwet, ear protection, CENS, and Pilla do the outlaw frame with a prescription insert. Talk to Ed Lyons eyewear.
Hi Lloyd, is there ever an issue in the rain with an open cartridge pouch like that? I'm guessing not considering that's what you use, but can you explain a little please?
Never had a problem with using mine in any conditions. It's no more exposed than keeping them in the pocket of a skeet vest.
Got a cartridge bag only use it shoving all my bits and pieces in as well as cartridges , got some of those Macwet gloves the other day , really comfortable and you can’t tell you’ve got them on , not sure what they are like in the wet yet thought
Grippy, there isn't much warmth in them admittedly but I can't shoot safely in thick gloves. I would rather have a good feel for the gun and use my pockets.
Lloyd Pattison I got the climate one which are supposed to be for colder weather will have to see when it starts to get cold
Where did you get the belt from plz as I've been looking for one like that.
"Belts" www.police-supplies.co.uk/belt-kit/belts
Thanks for making the video. Great insight in what I should take for comps and ect. Been looking for a belt like that for ages and can't find any decent ones
www.police-supplies.co.uk/belt-kit/belts
@@lloydyp thank you so much. Is your chortling still a go l. I'm liking the hats
Love your videos ! Spot on ! My addition to your gear bag would be a tourniquet (know how to use it), some Kwik Klot blood stopping powder and an Israeli compression bandage. They don't take up a lot of space and could save your life or a friend's. JJP
Thanks for watching man.
Great clip and gear Lloyd.
I also like MacWet gloves. I have a pair of the climatech ones, have not tried the micromesh ones, but I don’t tend to wear gloves in the summer.
I have Randolph Ranger “Sporter” frames. Pilla are a bit out of my price range. What I like about the Randolph Sporter frames is they are excellent quality and very good value for money (in my opinion). I wear prescription lenses, what I also like about the Sporter frames is you can use the frames alone with clear lenses or attach a coloured clip-on. The clip-on’s are sturdy, but easily changed as the light or background necessitates. I have a collection of half a dozen clip-ons in various colours and shades.
My only criticism of the Randolph Sporter frames is I found my Peltor ear muffs would not seal as well while wearing them compared to my previous glasses. I solved this by getting custom moulded ear plugs which are also excellent. Mine are just the standard passive ones, not the fancy electronic ones.

Thanks man, like I say though I need to find a friendly distributor to try and get some on test.
What a beautiful video I always learn new thing from your videos thank you.
Will you do any review on boots brands like Le Chameau, Harkila, Haix, Aigle, meindl on comeing days that will be great
Love to Hasan, but I will need to go begging for samples and I have failed on this front so far.
Great video I’m thinking of upgrading to CENS ear defenders and I was wondering if you think the DX3 model is worth the extra money over the DX1 which you use
I will discuss in my review.... 😉
Do you have a code for the macwets? Need a new pair and would like them to know i got the recommendation from you.
I don’t, but I can ask.
Hi Lloyd, can you tell me what model Beretta Range bag that is?
Always great video's , Thanks
Beretta Uniform Pro Bag.
Love your videos and would love the chance to shoot with you someday maybe. Just appreciate the lack of pretence, a regular guy (though a good shot it appears) without apparently a huge ego who enjoys his sport. Thank you.
Thanks JB. I'm at Bywell every weekend, by all means swing by and say hello ;)
No cleaning rod? How do you clear a "squib load"?
@@ronaldjohnson1474 never had one in over 30 years of shooting.
Muy buena tu valija de equipo, pero te sugiero llevar siempre una linterna!! Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Gracias hombre lo aprecio.
I have a small first aid kit just incase of cuts or the worst.
Fair comment.
Hi, new to the channel and appreciate your videos so much!
If you’re shooting in rain, what would you do to your gun post shoot with your oil? Esp, if you have a long drive home?
Wipe the gun down, light coating outside of oil, and snake down the barrel with a light spray also?
Pretty much all of the above. 👍
@@lloydyp I appreciate the reply. Not many youtubers take the effort! Top man!
Keep safe, I have plenty more of your content to binge on! 🥳
@@robpowell9162 lol enjoy mate.
Great vid, I gather you can put your towel in the bag too.
Always know where your towel is man.
thanks Lloyd! On your Pilla review, would you please advise which 3 lenses you would have if that's all you could have. I'm thinking clear bright day, cloudy overcast day and sun in your eyes for the three. FWIW i currently use Wileyx and they are ok but i forgot them recently and had a loan of Pilla glasses and now i get it but i can't afford a huge amount of lenses...
I can certainly tell you which 3 lenses I have, but your eyes may be different. I'll explain in the video.
@@lloydyp cheers Lloyd! look forward to it!
Lloyd, how about the Wiley X Rogue or Wiley X Saber Advanced, at the cheaper end of eye protection, for those that need it they can be used with a prescription insert?
Do they have a UK distributor?
I don't know, but I'll have a look I do know that firms Sportsrx and UKsportseyeware (UKeyeware) among others sell them. I'll post more if I find more, cheers TB
Great video where can I get the glasses from in uk
Thanks Scott, obviously Bywell stock a good range of shooting glasses including Pilla but assuming you are talking about ordering online: www.sunglassesforsport.com/shop/brand/pilla/
www.starkeyheadsets.co.uk/pilla/
Are your shooting glassess Prascription ? ..
No, I wear contact lenses.
Can you suggest shooting glasses that are prascription
Yes, are you looking for wraparounds with prescription inserts, or actual prescription lenses?
I am a novice clay shooter and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good brand of shooting glasses other than the high end ranges pila etc, as i am unable to afford anything high spec just yet.
evolutionsunglasses.com/product-category/shooting-eyewear/ seem reasonably popular but the lens quality is no better than any sunglasses.
@@lloydyp Thanks for the info, will check them out👍
Could you do a video on the browning b725 sporter s1 if you get the chance to get your hands on one??
Long in the tooth now, but if a used one comes in i'll keep an eye out for you.
@@lloydyp cheers pal. Keep up the great work with the videos too 😀
Thought about comparing your Pillas to Castellani’s?
No, never seen a pair of Castellanis. If they want to get in touch however I will happily test whatever.
Is this leather pouch in dark Havana
It is indeed. Well spotted.
I need to buy me a new shooting clay bag
Lots to choose from.
Youre still locked down? Ours ended weeks ago in the saff
My wife and I are both vulnerable due to medical conditions.
Lloyd Pattison ah fair one, stay safe mate 👍🏻
No buggies? You saying us Americans are lazy?
Nope, I'm jealous as hell I don't have an excuse to buy a Polaris.
