- King Charles III is officially crowned as King of the United Kingdom during his coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. Charles' enthronement comes after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.

My mother and I have seen the Coronation today on German TV. My mother becomes 97, same age as The Late Queen. Last year, mother was sad, that HM the Queen left her alone. I thought he looked serious. This was an formal oath to serve his people and country which of course he’s done all his life but it’s a solemn, religious ceremony. If you watch Elizabeth’s coronation, she’s looking serious and stoic also. This is not a moment to flash smiles and kiss babies.
