- In a ceremony which dates back to at least 1837, King Charles III was officially proclaimed monarch at St. James's Palace in London on Saturday after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II. The accession ceremony was followed by the King's declaration and taking of an oath.
I have been the recipient as a American of the generosity of this Moarchy. God Save the King
Tbh I can't recall ever hearing Charles speak and he sounds like a proper english King.
God Bless the King of Canada.
Splendid!! So much civility and proper care. An example to follow. Long live King Charles III! 🤴 ❤
1000 years of tradition. I love my country ❤
What an extraordinary thing to see - the formalities of an ancient constitutional monarch. Penny Mordaunt - Lord President of the Council - did a grand job.
Cool to see such ancient traditions. Hope England keeps these cultural rituals to preserve historical past events
Human tradition binds us together in times of great sorrow, making us all aware that even when we pass on, life, duty and society goes on. Its comforting.
God Bless our most gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and may God save the King.
Quite the ceremony, after such a long reign this is undoubtedly something most have never seen or witnessed before! A new Era is upon us, God you see and know all, so Father God may your glory fall in these dark and sad days. Comfort all those who grieve, and give them peace in days to come that all may know true joy in Jesus Name, Amen
I have got to say, this comely woman seems to be used and very adept at holding and presiding over ceremonies of this level! I'm italian, I don't have idea of her name but... congrats! She has done a perfect job!!!
I like watching official ceremonies of all kinds from everywhere.
Very historical moment
One of my favorite King of the world. It is the English language that bring so much out
I am in favour of the Monarchy, and am gratified to see the honoring of tradition with this glorious event, Long Live the King!!
Charles is very eloquent, this is going to be a great era for the monarchy
Very moved by the ceremony with the Heralds of Arms proclaming the King Charles the Third of the name...
How beautiful! Glad that "nobody" was there to ruin this. King Charles looks regal. Beautiful, beautiful ceremony.
Another interesting thing: All those "Orders in Council" to make use of existing seals. I was a US Navy Officer, and I remember at every change of command, the new Captain gave orders that the former Captain's instructions and orders remain in force until new ones are prepared. Same thing, only on a national scale.
While I'm not in favor of monarchy, this is a valuable tradition that gives visibility to English culture and religion.
