Yes, yes, I’ve heard the arguments against, but the monarchy speaks of cultural value, of dignity and nobility, not just of a given family, no, but of an entire people-and I daresay of humanity. Elizabeth was special to us all because she meant something to us all that we could identify with.

We hate the most famous monarchy in the world and it brings in billions a year in revenue!! All these anti monarchy idiots need to look at the bigger pic and if they have a solution then maybe they have a point !!!!!! So what will happen to the hundreds they employ just indoors and the hundreds of farmers who work on their land ?? All the gift shops that would shut down ,the cafes, restaurants, also the hotels, b&bs ,taxis etc etc because tourists have nothing to come here for !! So when them idiots who want no monarchy can come up with a plan to find employment for the thousands out of a job then maybe they will have a point 🙄 and !!!!! As for " the tax payer's money "we pay less than £3 a year to them 😊

    • @michaelmontagu3979
      @michaelmontagu3979 8 месяцев назад

      @kingofrandom4816 It's more complicated than that. The coffin has two lids. The top, false, lid has the Royal Standard attached to it. Then the cushion for the crown is fixed and in its centre is a mounting to hold the crown securely. The fittings for the orb and sceptre are screwed into the false lid. When the coffin goes down, it arrives in a small room, and is then taken through a corridor into the Royal Vault, which is under the Albert Memorial Chapel, not St George's. It was placed on the ledger stone and the false lid and fittings removed. Then both The Queen and Prince Philip's coffins were brought back up and interred on shelves in the King George VI vault, ready for the committal service.

I became I’ll on Thursday 2nd February, 2023 and I thought it was just a normal 24 hour sickness but i was throwing up for 74 hours straight without eating for 4 days because every time I tried eating something, I’d throw it back up. I remember the night when Mummy, Princess of Wales rushed Woody.EXE to my bedside when Mummy, my 2009 Woody and my sister were already there and my 9/11 movie was too. It got to the point where i had to be admitted to hospital and Woody.EXE was the one to do this as my 2009 Woody, my sister, Mummy and the 9/11 movie reminded at my side until I got better 3 weeks later. I actually nearly died at only 20 and my 2009 Woody was about to have the throne with my sister.

In the last few years people have tried to tarnish her name and the monarchy, so seeing so much love for her is so reassuring. We are really feeling it here. The last 10 days have been surreal and we still cannot fathom what's happened. We've lost our sovereign, the nation's grandmother, and security blanket. This will NEVER be replicated. No monarch will ever be able to attain this sort of legacy. This is a huge loss. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, from a friendly Londoner (and historian). Love and peace to you all.

    As if the removal of the Imperial Crown, Orb & Scepter (symbolically UN-crowning her late Majesty) wasn't hard enough to witness, what hit Me the most was when her Lord Chamberlain (whose final task was the planning, organization & overall direction of every facet of this state funeral) broke his wand of office, signifying his job was done and the reign of Queen Elizabeth II was sadly...over.

      @@pauljordan4452No kidding!! lol Did you miss:"symbolically" prefacing my metaphoric allusion? But as you appear to be a stickler for protocol, then you must distinguish the [concept] of "the crown"(aka the title of sovereign) which DID pass immediately to her late majesty's son, from the [tangible hardware] of the jewelled coronet, which following it's removal from the coffin, was placed upon the chapel's high altar, where (to quote the video's caption detail) it will remain thusly ensconced, along with the orb and scepter, until King Charles official coronation in 2023. However, to again re-use my above adjective: I might further speculate that the afore-mentioned Imperial regalia now displayed therein, is in reality even MORE "symbolic" as I'm certain even now it's already one of the many (quite authentic looking!) replica sets of the crown jewels, and the real ones have been safely returned to their vault in the Tower of London.

    Now the symbolism of those were powerful. This is the reigning kingdom for a reason. Like seriously they did fantastic. One thing the Brits got on us is their loyalty and unity. It’s amazing how *NSYNC they all weee today walking standing and throwing flowers. End of an era but her legacy clearly continues. I love to see it.

    That round globe thing looks like it's so heavy and could slip out of the bearer's hold pretty easily, especially since he's holding it with only one and gloved hand.

      The orb is actually hollow & the scepter were made for the coronation of Charles II in 1661 and have been used in every coronation since. When Charles is crowned he will carry the orb in his left hand, scepter in the right during the procession leaving the abbey when the coronation service is over so I’m assuming it isn’t heavy at all as he has to carry it all the way down the nave to the state coach that will take him and the queen consort through the streets of London and Buckingham Palace for the iconic balcony wave.
