There is the thing that in spite of there being a desire for independence for Scotland the question of what form that will take is not cut and dried or decided. It might be a Republic or it might be a Dual Monarchy like what existed between Austria and Hungary at the beginning of the last century. SNP plans are for a separation from Westminster and Edinburgh Parliaments at a political level. The question of Head of State is left open. The challenge for the Royal Family in the future will be to try and preserve the institution of the Monarchy north of the border regardless of what happens at Prime Ministerial level and below.
I think that the whole journey was planned time ago ..thats why she stayed in Balmoral so long lately...in order to give the opportunity to people of Scotland and Ireland to farewell her and to show she was their Queen too..and at last London as the Capital of UK..it wouldnt be the same if she happened to die in London..

I am an American, and I have this connection. I made the jet tail cones for that C17 Globe master. I made hundreds of them when most of that model plane was being built in the early '90s. Motors I made, metaphorically horses I raised, drew the queen's casket from Edinburgh to London.

The Scotts have been magnificent. It felt strangely sad when she left Scotland as if a part of her didn't want to leave the peace of the beautiful land and the kind thoughtfulness of the people.
Somehow it was strangely fitting that the weather was beautiful as she flew away from Scotland for the last time, as if the country itself made itself beautiful for her. And that it was raining in London as she landed, as it that nation was crying for her.

For the passed several days reporters have mentioned nearly all Britons have a story of either meeting the queen or connection with an event of the queen's. I am an American, and I have this connection. I made the jet tail cones for that C17 Globe master. I made hundreds of them when most of that model plane was being built in the early '90s. Motors I made, metaphorically horses I raised, drew the queen's casket from Edinburgh to London.
Deep Appreciation and Heart-felt Thanks to all the military personnel, and all others involved in taking great care for our late Queen.
