I just wanted to say that. I really appreciate your channel. Even though we are very different people. I'm much older than you. I'd like how you are frugal with everything you're doing. You make it just seem natural and that's the way more of us need to live. Thank you for all your hard work.
Rebecca on Dollar Tree Dinners uses those beef patties a lot and she rinses them after cooking (if she crumbles it up for a recipe) to remove the salt- she says that they are quite salty. I have the same reaction as Brooke- the idea of beef hearts is creepy (but I’m fine with hot dogs so go figure). Great video.
I add leftover taco meat & some cheddar & cook in the microwave. They are delicious. If I am feeling crazy Ill add some sour cream, lettuce & tomatoes. It reminds me of school pizza as a kid. Its amazing for 1.25++
I think it was Rebecca from Dollar Tree Dinners where I saw her put the baked egg roll over rice (she chopped it up first). I tried it and I liked it that way.
The chicken egg rolls from Dollar tree are very similar to the egg rolls at Jack-in-the-Box! And I believe that big one they sell for what three dollars. Yes air frying them is the best make sure they’re hot in the middle. I am hooked on your channel, thanks for the down home humor the honesty. That’s what makes you the best.
WAY back in the day when I first moved out of my parents house I used to LIVE off of those Celest pizzas. At the time they were always under a dollar, and I'm pretty sure they went on sale a lot for 4/$1. They're not great, but they fed me for really cheap and did the job when I needed it to lol
I like them, the crust is high moisture, but they make it like that because breads nuked are notorious for getting hard and inedible. They're good fried in a pan with olive oil soap and spices like garlic, onion, cilantro and a few Italian herbs. They're great if you put a little pizza sauce on them and fresh cut vegetables.
Oh Brooke, I am way too worried about Dollar tree food. Thank you for confirming that. I just stumbled on another RUclipsr called “Mexican Cooking on a budget”. - she could be your Mexican twin. lol 😂
When I got out of the hospital with covid, my daughter-in-law came and cooked up a storm and made individual meals to freeze so all I had to do was heat and eat. She also brought little munchie things. One of them was the pizzas you’re trying. I found the best way to cook them was in a fry pan on medium with a lid on top. When the cheese was all melty the crust was baked through and just a wee bit crunchy on the bottom. I was sad when I’d eaten them all. 😂
You are so amazing to me. You’re a momma and real. Just know you have lightened my days since I found you. And I can’t lie I have new recipes I’ve been making my family try lol Have a beautiful day ❤
I'm a new subscriber and I love your channel. Your boy's are precious and I love seeing a family who loves and cares for each other! I have two grown children and four grandchildren lol. My grown kids are still my babies 💕
Those hamburger patties are good for making beef patties with gravy too. Just cook em with some diced onions and then make the gravy like usual. Serve with some mashed taters and greenbeans or whatever
This is a good way to cook them. I have ground it up while it browned. Put it in some hamburger helper and also made tacos with it. The pizza box should of had a foil piece on the box that you cook the pizza on. You aren't suppose to microwave it without the box. 🤔
That reaction was hilarious...."Why did I look?" I actually have those in my freezer right now, I'm afraid to eat them now....Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Beef heart is VERY good for you Brooke!!! But I truly understand your reaction! Whenever we buy beef, we get the organ meats and I make homemade dog food (can it and freeze dry it) - my dogs LOVE it!! And I know what they are getting :)
Hey Brooke I live in middle Tennessee and I went to United Grocery outlet and they had totino's 3 meat party pack pizza's which is 4 pizza's for $2.99. I bought 3 boxes my kids have been happy. Dusty trying foods he has a face of Lord don't let this kill me! Thank you for putting your life on the line for dollar tree frozen foods. I love potstickers I get mine at sprouts they are so good. Love your family!
We used to get those from the commissary on base. Pizza and movie night we did Fridays. We all large group met up a one house. Linked numerous VCRs together and records/ watched movies
@@Itzybitzyhuskies--yes, Totino’s have been my favorite for a long time…but the cheese is different…it’s cakey - like thick, powdery. Not like mozzarella.
And never Chorizo! Haven’t had it since I read the package while I was cooking it about 6-7 years ago, but I have a heard time knowing my food once was a living animal, I still eat animal products after my pastor guided me, but some times I struggle, it’s really my only food aversion or hang up, I will try anything from another culture, and I only have one food that is an absolute no, liver, even when it was prepared to look like chicken fried steak, and I thought it was, as soon as it touched my tongue I gagged lol. But that’s it so anyways 😂
I have never commented on RUclips before, but I just HAD to say how much you had me cracking up at the end when you ate the burgers. I even had my 11 and 9 year old watch and kept filling my husband in. Almost makes me want to run out and try them. You and your family are great. Thank you for inviting us all into your home. P.S. I love temu to!!
You definitely have allowed me to consider trying more of the food in the freezer section of our local Dollar General. So far, I agree with all your ratings of the ones I tried. The fast bite cheese burger and BQ sandwich have been my favorites so far. Now I want to try the vegie roll and maybe the meat patties. It's cheap entertainment in the way of affordable dining in a small town that doesn't have any fast food except a subway, which I haven't even been to since I lived here. We do have a few restaurants, but I really have to justify spending over $20.00 on average for a just okay meal... that's before tip and tax, too. Thankfully, we have a grocery outlet, which is where I buy most of my food. Since they liquidate odd lots its an adventure of its own shopping there because you never know what you'll find... just always be sure to check the expiration dates! You know being poor enjoyably is an art form, and teaching how to shop and cook on the cheap like you do is an honorable endeavor! Not all of us picked these kinds of skills up growing up like you did... keep up the good work! I appreciate all you do! ❤
Thanks Brooke, I always avoid the frozen foods at the Tree, I have used their hot dogs, the pkg is smaller but only cooking for 2so it's ok. I think I will have to try the pot stickers now though.
Mama Celeste is banging. Lol when we first got married we were broke no joke and lived off those and ramen and peanut butter. 19 years later we get to have steak night once a week just because we can, thankfully. ❤
Thanks for trying these foods Brooke ! If you get a good buy on a beef heart at the grocery store buy it, bring it home cut it in 1/4’s snd put it in your insta pot with some beef broth and high pressure it for 60 minutes it will be tender and delicious and make gravy out of the liquid broth or you can cut it up like stew meat and bake it in a dish covered with foil in the oven with an envelope onion soup mix and a can of cream of mushroom soup. With a can of water like you would a roast bake at 375 for 2-3 hours it will be tender and delicious serve with mashed potatoes , a veggie , and rolls or biscuits to enjoy with the gravy ! I grew up on a farm snd we always loved beef heart cooked in gravy or in the pressure cooker , you can cook it whole and slice it or cut it in 1/2 length ways and bake it that way for slicing !!
