I can be feeling kind of down, being alone after my husband passed and i rush to your videos and i am 👍 OK. I get happy watching your sweet face and hearing your voice and it takes me back when i cooked for hubby and kids. Your house and lives are so much like we were. Thanx Brooke, you are so precious, thank you. Love you bunches❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
long time lurking, first time commenting... I'd like to see a slightly different type of "budget" meal... you mentioned a while back (sorry, I'm still catching up on months old videos cause I'm busy) that even fast food places like Chipotle can be $75 plus for your family and I totally agree that those prices are out of control these days. while I have some disposable income, they still make my the head spin! so my request is, what can you do with $50 for a really special occasion single dinner for your family of 5? I'm thinking special birthday, Valentine's, anniversary, congratulations on getting into college, etc. NOT Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc that might include a bunch of extra people. Just a really, really special day!!
basically somewhere that a "traditional fancy pants" meal that may have been $75-$100 for a SUPER extravagant night before COVID and the resulting inflation but would now run into the $200-$300 mark. I know this is a bit out of your wheelhouse, but sometimes we just need to celebrate. I figured $10 per person was reasonable for a super celebration since that's still cheaper than a Chipotle burrito/bowl or a McDonald's big Mac/quarter pounder "value" meal.
I LOVE how your children appreciate the simple things ,my momma would get tired too from everyday life, and sometimes she just didn't feel like cooking a 4 course meal, so us kids would get fried egg Sammy's, carrot sticks n tator tots , and we'd all be so greatful just be eating. I'm 63 now have raised my kids the same way. 😊 You are an amazing woman raising her kids an takin' care your man. 😊❤
I have my own cast iron pans but use my moms 61 yr old stainless steel pots to cook w, there still in good shape and do the trick..Faberwear…dont knock it….lol
I’m SO happy I found your channel. I just love you - you’re so upbeat, you have the best accent, and most of all you have so much love. It’s in your food, how you take care of your family, and when I saw you fill those blessing boxes I immediately went to my husband and said we need to be more involved and help where we can. I would never think you’re bragging. You just jump in and do what needs to be done. Sending you much love and MANY blessings for you and all of your family.
same for me- being old alone and depressed I get motivated to eat when I see her videos- sometimes I don't want to have anything but coffee- but she is very inspiring- and her family is her blessing praise Jesus
Brooke, Ive been watching your videos for about a year now. I also came here to say I just love ya! You are real and wholesome and fun. It's always like a hug from a friend when I put you on. Wishing you and your family all the best in 2024 ☀️
I think this lady is hilarious! I don’t make her recipes, but she is so cheerful and her kids are so polite and sweet I can’t get enough of her videos.
Some of them eggs you could make a quiche.... ham, bacon, sausage, veggie, brocc and cheese one. Or a fritatta, deviled eggs, pasta salad, potato salad, oh the possibilities :) Loved the dinners. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thanks for an honest review on the sauce. Its $10 a jar in the PNW! I'm not paying that, especially if it tastes like a store brand. We actually like our store brand better than more expensive sauces we've tried.... 🙅🙅🙅
I find that to be true of a lot of items! For instance, Aldi had a version of Chunky soup that I simply loved....you might know, I had barely discovered it and they stopped carrying it and started selling the Campbell's version which I don't like as well!
Thank you for all your endless ideas! We are on a fixed income and the food prices are out of hand! I have enjoyed cooking again because of you, using what I have and my family is so happy too! I enjoy seeing your beautiful family too! You help more people than you know.
I buy Ronaldi’s when it’s $1. Dump in a sauce pan, add a jar of water. Let it simmer on low for about an hour, add more water if it thickens too much. Bake my chicken coated in breadcrumbs and parm. I make spaghetti to go with it. Hubs (gram from Italy) loves it. Last time I found some half price ravioli with cheese and spinach I served it with!
Rao’s is popular because it is low carb. If you aren’t interested in low carb, you can find cheaper sauce that is just as tasty. Now their pizza sauce is amazing.
I really really love how you respected your son's wishes not to be recorded when he made that meal.... you are amazing and I absolutely love you and your cute lil family ❤
Oh I feel ya on your chickens hiding eggs!!! That chicken had some wonderful color to it! Ryder's dinner looked so good! Tell him great job!! The chicken parm looked so good! I think on top of some thin noodles with more of the Rao's would be so good! Those taco bowls!! Brooke!! Well done! Have you tried making a Dutch Baby Pancake? It uses up some eggs and its really tasty! That breakfast for dinner looked so good! Gotta love egg salad! Nothing wrong with an easy night! Thanks for the wonderful video!
These are all wonderful dinners and I just so enjoy watching you I feel like we’re in the kitchen with ya chit chattin’!!! Brooke you can toot your own horn anytime girrrl!! You rock!!! Love from NY!!!! Happy almost Spring!!!! 🌸🌸🌸🌺🌺🌺
Just started watching this video and I'm already excited! These are my favorite kinda vidoes!! I love watching you just cook all normal like using your pantry, freezers and home canned stuff 🤗
Brooke if you have a lot of eggs you should make “Shakshuka” with your extra eggs, it’s a middle eastern recipe. It basically a tomato sauce with sunny side up eggs cooked on top. The tomato sauce has a bit of a kick to it, you can spice it up to your taste. And you eat it with homemade bread. It’s delicious! Great for dinner or breakfast.
I just figured out how to comment. You have guided me how to make due with what I have. portion control I needed big help and seeing your plated food I have learned a lot. I am making better choices. I retain water can't wait to do low carb.
Love love your channel! Put a couple of dry paper towels in your bag of lettuce, cabbage ,or spinach and it will last longer. The paper towel will absorb moisture and prevent it from turning bad.
A quick suggestion: when making quesadillas, put the tortillas on to heat but add your fillings across the entire surface. Then put a second tortilla on top. After the cheese partially melts, use a large turner to flip them over to brown the second side. Once done, set them on your cutting board & cut them into halves or even thirds. Much easier than folding them over.
You can make a breakfast pizza with them eggs. Just scramble a whole bunch, as many as you want. Put on a prebaked pizza crust. Add bacon bits and cheese of choice and bake a few minutes more until cheese is melted.
Egg salad on celery sticks is so yummy! Great for summer when it is hot and it is hard to eat a lot of bread. I have also filled up small romaine lettuce leaves with egg salad and ate it like a taco. So good.
My mom always beat them first and added a pinch of salt. You can do a dozen in a mixing bowl and just pour into the ice cube trays. Transfer to ziploc freezer bag when frozen. Great way to get ahead for when hens aren't as productive.
that's an amazing tip I'd never heard of before. I recently bought the biggest upright freezer I could find that would fit in my dining room ( I live in a very urban area where garages and backyards are only a dream) so I could do better for my kids. can't wait to try this out!
I made this Cheeseburger melt meal for a family get together. I used ground turkey since one of my family members doesn't eat mammal. It was a big hit. Everyone enjoyed it and it was so easy!
Raos wasn't life changing for me. I honestly prefer snagging the cheap 'can' of the hunts traditional "pasta" sauces and herbing it up. But, I'm not yucking anyone else's yum!🤗💕
Rao’s tends to be salty. I’m Italian and while it’s good for the fresh olive oil taste and fresh sweet tomatoes, I can live without it and doctor up sauces or just fry down tomatoes 🍅 myself and not even crushing them I add to spaghetti, I agree not to rain on anyone’s parade. Plus affordability is important.
This baby boy has grown so quickly! I don’t know that I’ve watched you for a whole year and have learned so much. Thank you, bestie, and squeeze Kylen for me (sorry if misspelled).❤❤
I enjoy your video's so much...well done! Could you please tell me where you got the white bowl with the thin black rim and red and blue flowers inside it? It reminds me so much of a bowl my grandmother had and I would love to find one. Thank you
I have a can that i washed and keep in my cabinet, I use it for chopping and cutting biscuits..works great! And anytime you open a can of something you have one ready to use
Your dinners all looked so darn tasty and good.. I love that Ryder made dinner it looked so good . I'm impressed... Your meals are perfect .. I love y'all so much. Stay safe and God bless y'all.. ❤️❤️❤️🥰

I made the cheese burger melt and it is another keeper😂 I actually used the left over poormans steak patties, chopped up, that I had from the day before. Came out great!!
Black beans are my favourite too, but thanks to you, I’ve been eating beans - pintos, black or garbanzo at least once a week. I even had soup beans and cornbread a few times, inspired by you. I was thinking of you this weekend when I made up my beef and broccoli. It’s your recipe except I always forget to add sugar. I don’t seem to miss it, though! I like your new biscuit cutter. Fancy! 💖
If I hadn't found the sale and had a coupon, I would have never tried it lol But now that I have, I can honestly say it's just mediocre. Nothing special about the taste. Some have said the ingredients are better than others though. I'll stick with my $1.25 cans of hunts lol
I would love to know Ryder’s recipe. It looked so good and I love seeing that the boys are learning to cook and be budget conscious. Ryder will you share your recipe please?

@@CarrieVukichit was my son's 21st last week, I was broke. I made butter chicken and naan. Cheapest yet a true celebration meal.

My sister's and I still using my mother's cast iron pans ♥.
I have my own cast iron pans but use my moms 61 yr old stainless steel pots to cook w, there still in good shape and do the trick..Faberwear…dont knock it….lol
She lives on❤
I love my Revere wear pans. Got most of them from the thrift store.
I also have a collection of the Revere pans hands down the best!

Fried rice with a few extra eggs too.
I’m so glad I found your channel. I don’t have anyone to teach me a Moms cooking so you are the best and I love your personality
Really nice to have your boys cooking!
Preparing them to be independent. ❤
Absolutely 💯 ❤
I totally agree about Rao Pasta Sauce! Apparently it has better ingredients...less sugar...something like that. But it's SO EXPENSIVE!
Much less expensive to make your own pasta sauce for sure buying a pre made in jar is insane
Same as you; I couldn't tell a difference between the Raos and my store brand.
Same it all tastes the same, in my opinion.
It was disappointing
Thanks for an honest review on the sauce. Its $10 a jar in the PNW! I'm not paying that, especially if it tastes like a store brand. We actually like our store brand better than more expensive sauces we've tried.... 🙅🙅🙅
I find that to be true of a lot of items!
For instance, Aldi had a version of Chunky soup that I simply loved....you might know, I had barely discovered it and they stopped carrying it and started selling the Campbell's version which I don't like as well!
As long as you and your family like it, who cares.
Egg salad is the best. Love the veggies on the side. Perfect.. will be making this for dinner .❤
Thank you for all your endless ideas! We are on a fixed income and the food prices are out of hand! I have enjoyed cooking again because of you, using what I have and my family is so happy too! I enjoy seeing your beautiful family too! You help more people than you know.
Couldn't have said it any better! Thank you!
You are authentic! That’s how you cook momma. I’m lovin it! Thank you for what you do for your precious family. I’m all for it. ♥️
You did it again. I am going to try the cheeseburger melts.
I refuse to pay 7.00 for a jar of sauce at a discount grocery store just because it's the best So my house will never eat Rao's
I'll never buy it again, even if it is on sale lol
I buy Ronaldi’s when it’s $1. Dump in a sauce pan, add a jar of water. Let it simmer on low for about an hour, add more water if it thickens too much. Bake my chicken coated in breadcrumbs and parm. I make spaghetti to go with it. Hubs (gram from Italy) loves it. Last time I found some half price ravioli with cheese and spinach I served it with!
I just buy cheap sauce and add extra seasonig to it.
I couldn't taste any difference.
If you have access to Aldi, they carry one with nearly identical ingredients for significantly less.
Thank you. Be positive, kind, happy, and let others be happy. It's a great way to start my day!
Absolutely 💯 ❤
Brook when you’re on I stop everything to watch you!
Me too! I love her! She's like a bestie! I know that sounds cra cra but true lol
Thank you for the love and support!!!
I agree, definitely a bestie@@Ninetysixgal
@@SouthernFrugalMomma❤ you
I add a little sage to my chops when they are for breakfast just like breakfast sausage has. Just adds a little surprise and breakfast feel.

Aldi has a pasta sauce that is low carb, tastes very similar to RAO's.
I made the Cheeseburger Melts for my family and they loved them! Thank you so much for your wonderful videos!

Thanks for the wonderful video!
I began buying the Save a Lot brand of pasta sauce. My daughter loved it and truth be told one of the best I've ever had.
Instant makes great boiled eggs. 1 cup water and eggs cook 5 mins natural release 5 mins ice bath 5 mins. The peel easy!
This! I cook for 2 minutes, 6 minutes natural release and 5 minutes in very cold water. Perfect every time. Love my Instant Pots!
You can use a round lid from like a jar, canning ring, top of a cup to make your round biscuits.
These are all wonderful dinners and I just so enjoy watching you I feel like we’re in the kitchen with ya chit chattin’!!! Brooke you can toot your own horn anytime girrrl!! You rock!!! Love from NY!!!! Happy almost Spring!!!! 🌸🌸🌸🌺🌺🌺

I love what you do!! thank you from Québec,Canada, have a Nice Day!!!
just love watching you cook everything looks so delicious..especially great for any new brides out there..just loving on your family 😃
I make my own sauce I am also Italian. I use any sauce in a pinch as a starter but spice it up.
So glad you tried the Rao's pasta sauce so I don't have to. 😀
Rao’s Italian sausage best ever!
Angel food cake takes care of a dozen eggs. Use yolks to make noodles.
Do you float your eggs too see if they are good for ones that didn't get collected daily because they hide them.. If they float out they go !

Oh Ryder cooking that is so cute. Good job. Looked really good 😁

My Mother-in-law always Browned her flour just a little bit & it made some delicious Saw Mill Gravy.
I would eat every one of those! Thanks for sharing!
I use a bit of mustard inmy egg salad just like yours.
Black beans are my favourite too, but thanks to you, I’ve been eating beans - pintos, black or garbanzo at least once a week. I even had soup beans and cornbread a few times, inspired by you. Rao is 8.50 at Walmart up here in Michigan. 👀 I cannot afford that sauce. Nope. No way. No how. LOL
If I hadn't found the sale and had a coupon, I would have never tried it lol But now that I have, I can honestly say it's just mediocre. Nothing special about the taste. Some have said the ingredients are better than others though. I'll stick with my $1.25 cans of hunts lol
Your breakfast for dinner looks so good. Now I want to watch that. Lol love all the meals. You do such a great job. 😊
Love too see ryder and brayden cooking. Good job guys❤ looks bustin

Hi Brooke, next time you make Chicken Parmigiano, put it on top of Spaghetti.. Really good that way too. .😊😊😊
Great video, again! I love an Indian Curried egg dish, the sauce is coconut cream. It’s delicious and a great way to use up excess eggs.
Thank you Brooke for sharing your week ❤
I made spaghetti with meat sauce with Rao's and it was good but not worth the price difference. You can make the whole meal for the cost of a jar of Rao's sauce
I really loved the way you cut the tomato, I’m going to give that a go. Great video. 💕
I just found your channel a little while ago. I love it.
Thank you so much for dinner ideas.. I'm definitely going to try the chicken parmesan out! Much love to you and your awesome family. 🙂❤

I luv Ur cooking and I'm a 68-year-old northener (Delaware) now living in Southern Cali.
All looks super good thanks so much you're the best
I love egg salad...i add dill or paprika depending what I'm hankering for. Also add shredded cheese adds some flavor.
I add onion powder to my tots, and it gives them a Bojangles Bo round vibe.
I love burrito bowls!! Yum!!! 😋
