She looks like she is having fun and I love to see people upcycle rather than stuff ending up in landfills. If folks bought more recycled/upcycled items and passed on plastic, etc..we would all be better off for it. Good work!
What?? No way!! Don't pay any attention to those comments! You guys are BOTH amazing. I have watched each of you go through good times and bad. You are going through life just as you should. Sharing and taking care of each other.
I just want to thank you for keeping your projects on household items, homemade and budget friendly, I've lost interest in other crafting channels because they start using brand names. I understand they get promo, so typically it's out of budget for most. You continually keep your projects so that anyone can do it! And your work is beautiful if not way better than the fancy brand names! Absolutely love your channel 🎉❤
Love all of them. My mom taught my sister & I that thrifting is like treasure hunting. We have now taught our kids. I have things that my mom upcycled that are dated that I've upcycled. Helps me feel close to her. Ty for some wonderful ideas. Merry Christmas
I can't stress enough how you are probably the best and most true DIYer on RUclips. I get so fed up and frustrated with the pretend ones that run to Dollartree and buy, say a sign, come back and just repaint that nice sign, spending $10-$20 to add a bobble or two, and then say, "I just love this and hope you do too"! Meanwhile they have just spent a fortune redecorating an already perfect piece, that cost $1 to begin with. That's not DIYing. That's just redecorating expensively and foolishly. A true DIYer takes nothing and creates something with little or no expense. And one of the best of all is the fact you're Canadian, in a predominately American field of wanna-bees. I now have a whole section in my notebook dedicated to your channel that is full of every helpful hint, hack and useful bit of information, and my New Year's Resolution for 2024 is to watch every one of your videos. Here I go, and please keep those videos coming. ❤️❤️❤️ (🇨🇦😉)
With any can of paint if you take a nail and bang holes in the groove of the can the paint will go back into the can and you'll have a lot less waste and it will be a lot cleaner when you go to put the cap back on. Best hack I ever got
I saw a shovel turned into a woodpecker head by a metallurgist too. Most adorable re-use I have ever seen. This shovel was adorable to!! I cleaned out a family farm from 1898 forward. I kept some things. Now I have some ideas and kniw what some people bought fir recycling. It was a fin learning adventure during the sale!
Hi Deidra, just a suggestion, if you want to stiffen your doilies, you find, you can dip them in some Elmers glue, shape them, and they dry stiff. Holding the shape they were created for.
I would. Have bought the picture of the wagon,so neat ,I loved it just as it was, love old barns too., love all your old wood too. Turned out great. ♥️
Love Love Love the packing tape on scrapbooking paper, so amazing. I can’t find napkins for decoupage. I do have “loads” of scrapbooking paper. THANK YOU
Lovely video. I could sit and listen to you all day. Your designs are just charming and so fun to stitch. I am going to try your wonderful finishing idea of putting a small inside lid of box. Congrats on your new sweet baby. Grandchildren are our reward for getting older. Sending prayers for your husband.
Really pretty and nice to not see the gold foil center for a change. The colors are beautiful. You were making me a nervous wreck holding the molds while pouring the resin😅. This is the first time I’ve seen your video and I enjoyed watching. Thanks
Everything is just beautiful,I love them all, I just can’t believe how you put a napkin on a candle , using wax paper, it’s so pretty. I gotta learn this idea, I don’t have one of those machine the prints labels and other ideas, that is so neat, also gotta learn how to transfer to other items, Love all you did.👍👍Thanks for sharing with me, the big dummy,♥️♥️♥️😀
Hi ! Thanks for all your instruction and inspiration ! For sprinkling cinnamon on projects, I was thinking using a shaker would be nice. Then, realized most shakers have too-big of holes, you'd definitely be shaking tons out. So, either a salt shaker with tiny holes or make own. For anyone who's not done something like this for other reasons/came across it, It's nice to know you can make any container into a shaker by drilling small holes into the lid. To avoid injury etc., hold the lid steady using a pliers or vice grips etc. and have the lid upside down, on a surface like scrap wood which you won't mind drilling into a tad when u go thru the lid. Then, use a drill bit that looks about the size of the hole u want, erring on the too-small side. Idea #2 : secure a bit of cheesecloth or window screen around a jar etc. - alone or under a flip-open lid. Idea #3: Place cinnamon into a sachet bag/reusable tea bag type bag, and "puff" cinnamon over your project ( be careful not to inhale ! ). Store in a container between uses.
I love 😍the wooden wall sconce that you added scrap book paper to? The hack for thinning the paper is brilliant!!! Thanks for showing me that my 'hoarding because I know I can turn it into something else' disorder lol. I love to breathe new life into old pieces

First time seeing your amazing video. Im so impressed with your creativity and speed. Love all your recycled projects! New subscriber! Nice to learn about your homemade recipes for paints! Thanks!
@@OurUpcycledLifejust got to your pottery comment! Ceramics was my favorite elective classes at the Junior College! Check into the Raku technique firing… I think you’d really love the look and how there’s always random results/ surprises! Such a useful hobby to take up!

I have to be honest, the halloween vase was so stressful to watch. I thought it was going to be a disaster until it came together in the very end. It looks amazing! Blew my mind😅.
Lol. Yes It was a hot mess to watch. It looked ok on video with flowers but by itself...just don't look close.. definitely Dollar Store type project best left for jars or like here, an inexpensive vase.

I agree! The homemade/DIY recipes are fantastic! Crafting for me is a frugal past time and from time to time, I've been able to sale some things, but I have a hard time selling at prices high enough to cover the retail cost of materials.

Try using your heat gun on the white chalk paint over the mod podge. Ginger Chick does it all the time and it works 90% of the time. She uses straight white pva glue.(ie. Elmer's glue) instead of mod podge.

Some of these looked better in the before. That drip vase was a mess. I loved the wicker coasters. The doilies were beautiful, especially the one with the pink flowers around the border.
@@OurUpcycledLife I always watch. Our tastes are bound to be different at times but there is no doubt that you have amazing techniques that you share here on your channel. It’s also nice to share techniques that I am aware work when other viewers only have an ink jet printer to work with. I have also gotten some very good tips from other viewers in your community. It’s also great to mention other videos you have made that have helped me when I see others ask about something in the comments. None of my comments come from a malicious place. I’m direct and sometimes that can be taken wrong by others. I can tell your direct as well in your responses to comments. Most creators respond to tips or ideas a little fuzzier. Yours are short and direct. Tips and tricks from others should be embraced a bit more. People wouldn’t share them if they weren’t trying to be helpful. We all have fails sometimes when we create. We all also create things that others may not like for themselves but work beautifully for us. We should all help each other create beautiful things and expand our horizons with the things we can do as artists. I don’t just enjoy the techniques you share I also really enjoy your out of the box thinking when you create. Those are the creators I enjoy watching the most. So many channels share things we have already seen or have videos that feel very rinse and repeat using the same materials over and over. I know a lot of people enjoy those and there is nothing wrong with them. I just gravitate towards the creators who give me fresh new ideas I’ve never thought of before. Several of your videos have made me run to my stash and pull out an item I have had for years but wasn’t quite sure what to do with. I’ve learned a lot of new painting techniques from you that I really enjoy doing. I also appreciate that you show inexpensive products, that are easy to find or that we may already have that can be used to get the same results vs more expensive products on the market. I look forward to seeing your creativity throughout the New Year.
Very kind words and well said! ❤️ I’m very thrifty … use dollar store or new items as little as possible and always trying to find new and creative upcycles to share. You 100% right everything I do can be done in your own style with that technique. Glad to have you here in my community 😍
I got my Mod Podge to crackle by blow drying when it was wet. Then I repeated that after painting with white chalk paint. Worked great even though it wasn't what I had planned. I was in a hurry to get the paint dry and that's what happened.

Love Love Your Channel ❣️
Thank you so much!!
Some of these looked better in the before. That drip vase was a mess. I loved the wicker coasters. The doilies were beautiful, especially the one with the pink flowers around the border.
Thanks for watching!
I love your ideas.
Glad you like them!
You are amazing!!! Learn something every time I watch your channel!!😍😍😍
I'm so glad!
I got my Mod Podge to crackle by blow drying when it was wet. Then I repeated that after painting with white chalk paint. Worked great even though it wasn't what I had planned. I was in a hurry to get the paint dry and that's what happened.
I'm going to try your blow dryer hack. I love the crackle look!
Yes, I’ve had that happen a few times also but it’s not really consistent
I LOVE your channel!! ♥️😍♥️
I love all of this, but I did find that some of this old clear glass glows if you check it with a strong UV light. Just a tip before you paint it 🙂
Glad you enjoyed
