The pro version is for people like to complete an entire project from start to finish. You can mix, master, sequence and release and entire project in one software.
The Chord track is easily worth it, it's like Scaler for your entire DAW
Thank u bro
You can’t master in the artist version?
@@accentontheoff you can use plugins to master but the Pro version has a dedicated Project page where you can master and sequence an entire project, I put metadata, and export it as DDP if you wanted to press up CDs, upload directly to SoundCloud and other platforms or save as disk image.
@@AJWise Ah I see. Thanks.
Not only do you sound honest, you look trustworthy and down to earth. Thanks!
@CHARLES 13X You sound stupid.
@CHARLES 13X You are an idiot.
Exactly… what does “trustworthy” look like… sir? 🤔
For what you do, you need the professional to complete a project from start to finish 💯💯👌🏾👌🏾
Love the HONEST review here! Great watch for people in the process of making a choice. Thanks Bolo, love from Spain! 🙌
Started with Studio One Prime, messed around with a few different Daws but found my way back to Studio One and upgraded to Artist, was the best choice I've ever made, Love the user friendly setup
Artist is great I’m not upgrading, it’s VST compatible and unlimited tracks and MIDI, the loops and instruments you get are great also!
Thumb up
Basically, if you are a professional, get the professional, if you are just an artist, use the artist version. The clue is in the name! thanks, Bolo :)
Refreshing to get a overview where the presenter just tells it how it is without loads of blah blah thanks man excellent advice.
Welcome to the community officially sir. I stand by studio one Pro all day. The community is great as well. Glad you’re on board now because we need more urban producers showing techniques in this dope daw. I try covering this ground a little bit on my channel but more beat makers like you is always better.
Thank you for this.
I can see clearly that I don't need to upgrade from Artist.
A retired one man shop like me is very happy with Studio One Artist.
Your presentation rocks!
Thanks for the honest assessment of Pro vs. Artist. I'm just a vocalist who only imports backing tracks and then mixes a vocal track with the mp3 file. You saved me some serious money that I can put towards some equipment or more tracks.
Thanks Bolo! that was some great info. I love studio one too. Shout out to studio one crew.
Well I faced one of my biggest fears today and told one of my friends about my producing. Feels good 😂
💪🏽
You be on it bro ✊🏾✊🏾
As with all things Pro, it is best to use the Artist version so that you get that muscle memory, along will all the easy things first. Going straight to Pro will be a steep learning curve for most novices. The same would be applicable to Plug-ins, VST's, Templates and all manner of extras, both free and paid for.
I appreciate that, great straightforward advice. Thank you
Good honest view of both versions. Thanks mate!
I appreciate your in depth review. Thank you for the upload. When I'm ready and get better with " Artist", I will upgrade to "Professional" version.
Hello Bolo,
Glad to see that you are on the "Professional Platform". Hope you enjoy creating great productions in the Presonus Studio One Professional environment.
Man that's great when you get time test out the console shaper. And the channel strip collection. I have been having so much fun with them.
Thank you for the honesty. Subscribed.
honest feedback Bolo, thank you
Subscribed! Shout out from Cali! Real supports real! 💯
Thanks, BoloDP! This is very helpful! You got my thumbs up!
Thank you for sharing your insight! I've been using Studio One 3 for years and I'm about to upgrade to Studio One 6 artist. It will be arriving tomorrow!
I love your videos! I have the pro version, however, I still like mixing better in Cubase but I love recording all of my midi in PSOne5!!!!!
Appreciate your honesty....thank you
thanks for your honesty
Differences in stock plugins, extra ways how to do things like chord track etc, mastering page, live show page, mixing options & more. The mastering project page alone is worth the upgrade & everything extra for mixing. With pro you have everything you need from start 2 end.
THANKS MAN🙌🏼
I would agree! I have to say though if you do the subscription there are some great features as well. like all new plug ins with updates. Sphere is interesting too.
Really good info. Thank you.
I been on using studio one since version 1.1
cool video, love studio 1.
Thank you so much King
PreSonus Studio One Professional is my go-to start to finish production tool for any musical compositional project, and creation techniques that you desire to employ. From songwriting scratch versions to the mastering finished release-ready production. PreSonus Studio One Professional can get the job done. Hands down. I really enjoy the stability of the platform, and the engineers and Presonus are constantly just "fine-tuning" and make the product the most "Stabilise" it can possibly be. I am so glad the I was turned on to the Presonus ecosystem. Great Product.
I have found the Artist version is missing only one feature I wanted from the Professional version. Definitely not worth the upgrade cost for me to get that single (though very useful) feature.
What feature ?
For real what feature?
Seems we never found out the one feature then
Get acquainted with pattern mode/variations. I think its highly slept on. I may have to make a vid showing how I use it for making beats fast. Even for 808s , you can have it show just the notes in that scale in melody mode and clicking them in if you dont feel like playing by hand.
Interesting 🧐 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have Artist and full FL versions and I can use them together I'm good now... Thanks for your Real and Informative videos. 💯👍🏿👎🏿🤷🏿♂️
Got my equipment today and was looking to stay with studio 6 artist or upgrade to pro. Thanks for being honest man! I'm green and learning.
I'm going to buy the artist version still, I'm producing in the prime version and it's very difficult to handle the drums there but I'm really enjoying the daw
You could get Studio One Pro on Splice on Rent-To-Own
This was something I really had to look at closely when I got S1-5. It’s not my only DAW, and I have an extensive collection of 3rd party VST’s and PlugIns. The Artist version does a lot. I’m a pianist and keyboardist with just over 40 years of playing, and S1-5 Professional just wasn’t necessary for me when considering what I already owned.
Is it possible to use 3rd party vsts and plugins with the artist version?
Thank you for your honest opinion. I’m seeing this on Black Friday 2023 when the Artist edition is priced for $99. I bought an ATOM SQ after seeing a review two years ago. I was planning to get ProTools after that purchase since my favorite country artist uses that. I was not sure the SQ was compatible with ProTools, so after researching, I learned that the SQ only works with Studio One. The DAW is the last thing I needed to complete my recording set up. I was asking myself if I really need to pay extra for the pro version. Thank you for providing me with a clear answer. That chord track does look neat, but I don’t really need it. I’m not into heavy mixing. I just want to record the songs I write and make them sound as close to what I hear in my head as possible.
For me the big difference between Artist and Pro is to project page. It has every bell and whistle you would need for any kind of professional mastering project - done easy. If you do a LOT of mastering this matters a lot.
Thanks for that info. I plan on installing Artist soon as I bought the Studio Live Series III mixer and Artist came with it. (Model 32S). I guess i will see if the upgrade is needed once I start using it. Thanks.

Wow Great....
Very helpful thx... I use Logic Pro but I'm going to give studio one a try
I just want to personal thank you for the Honesty, You sir have answered my questions on what i need to do.
lets talk about it:
The upgrade is about further mixing right? Well why do you need to mix so much when you have the talent to begin with?
Thank you sir 4 this video.
Pro feature Video Import/Export Player is handy for creating to motion i.e music videos etc. CTC-1 Pro Console Shaper also allows vintage-inspired artifacts like console cross-talk, surface noise, tape saturation and bleed, and more. Keep up the conversation on this extension of the mind DAW.
How does the video thing work? I want to make short videos to showcase my music on IG
I got artist when I got their studio in the box
I'm having a moment where I just wanna quit. ever go through all of your beats and feel like they're all trash? well that's the mood I'm in right now.
when that happens go full random. pull your beats and add plugin randomly add and fuck around with the mix and buses. every time i do that i find new usefull technic that i use to make my beats more original and groovy
Main man. Delete. Start over. Do you! Not them. Pick ya face up homie.
You probably been listening to them for a long time. Trying remixing them or move some drums around if you can. I go through it sometimes as well but don't quit homie
Start remixing some of em. I mean like back in 90s when a remix sounded like a totally different song
I appreciate all the advice 🙏🏿. Time to pick my face up and go get it!
There's a sale right now to upgrade!!
Another great point Black Friday is coming up soon they’ll probably discount the upgrade and purchase price which is good.
The question you left unanswered was should you subscribed to sphere which is the better option than just upgrading
How do you feel about the workflow, shortcuts, and natural intuition...compared to other daws. For me I felt like getting into studio one was the easiest to learn I didn't have to go to Google/RUclips every 5 minutes to do things. Split S, Duplicate D, Bounce B...Have all the vsts on the right ready to be dropped instead of looking through a long list. So many things that make you really hate pro-tools lol. Also the in this case the PRODUCER edition seems like it's literally for the producer lol. Artist you get by with the tools an artist would want. That's the only daw that's exactly what it says it is with the version names.
Please more Studio One Videos
💯💯💯💯
So I am switching from FL studio. I do everything in it. I’m still learning studio one from a friend who has it and I’m wondering can I get by just purchasing the Artist edition until I get the full amount of money to buy the professional version?
👍 It did say PRO edition.
Thanks 4 the video. About to make a update is melodyne available in artist?
Hi there, I might be migrating from Mac to Windows and from Logic Pro to Studio One. Will Studio One Artist or maybe Professional match up when it comes to the wide range of instruments available in Logic Pro. Thanks.
The pro version come with ready made beats kits and loops too..
BOLO!!!!!!!!!
I use the artist version. I play all instruments manually.
👍
I ended up copping professional via Splice so I could merge production, recording, mixing and mastering all in one DAW
I use maschine and FL when I'm mobile so I can look at the screen less but will port it over into S1 in my home studio for that efficient mix and master workflow
Honestly, I haven't upgraded since 3. I do mostly rock and metal. Would it be worth the upgrade?
when u upgrade do they give u a new product key or they send it to your email?
i understand that artist doesn't have the chord track & harmonic editing, but is choosing and locking to a scale when programming midi an option? not sure if this is part of "harmonic editing"
But did you still get the gumbo recipe? >_> Most of my reason for Professional was, well, I've had it since Artist didn't have much at all and was probably close to Prime or whatever, and I also use Project mode a lot. I love love love Project Mode. It just helps me take my mindset from mixing to producing/mastering when I'm into that, organizing tracks on an album, etc. Artist has definitely come a long way since it was first around.
Studio One Professional is available on Splice’s Rent-To-Own program...only $17/month and after 24 months, you own a full license.
Had I not settled into Ableton, I probably would have gone this Studio One Pro route.
You can use S1 simultaneously with A/Live. Check out ARA
@@kreativetechnologistsaka882 that would be an adventure for down the road. I would certainly be open to the idea of incorporating multiple DAWs into my workflow... but I just don't have that kind of time to take that on at the moment. I'm keeping my eye on Studio One for the future though.
Which DAW you like Better ? Logic Pro or Studio One Artist?
Once you complete Your Music on Your MPC .. and you need someone to Record Vocals etc ..
What gear do you get cheaply Artist with? As far as AI they bindle version 3 only
👍🏾
I just switched from full HW mixing to the Artist version (came bundled with an interface) last week, from a 20-25 yo Yamaha AW4416 + QY700 (+other HW). The chord track and mixer scenes were available 20 years ago and seems like nonsense artificial limit to push purchasing the pro version. It's nothing new or high tech. I'm willing to pay for something that needs lot of research and development, like AI based tools, but forcing to pay for simple old tech is rather annoying and demotivating for me. I think S1 Artist is a great product, but I would put limits elsewhere. Maybe that's why I'm not marketing audio tools :)
Yo, Bolo...RUclips throwing salt in the game. I ain't getting any notifications of your new videos.
I figured that…. I don’t know why they are doing that 🤦🏾♂️
Hi, I'm a vocal producer I don't make beats, I am only mixing the vocals and mastering the track, wich version should i get? artist or professional?
Hey! I appreciate this video! I'm thinking about getting artist with a presonus bundle, and I still have a question. In the listing of the 2, it doesnt mention pitch correction in the artist version but it does in higher versions, and I'm wondering if artist has that? That's something I would greatly apreciate having
A REAL ARTIST AND PRODUCER WILL NEED PROFESSIONAL
BOLO!!! Hey you ever use Live?
Not yet
bolooooo
my main question is and you already answered it but as a person that has no clue how to navigate or does not understand any of the fuctions and how they work and how to even get anything to work or even arm a track let alone insert ad ons that cost money that wont work unless i know how to use the computer, i can not even get past the fist recording or scrap track to even concern about perfection, i come from old 8 track recorders that were even a bit of work to use, now this has been a nightmare and even if i had a book to pay for feel it would most likely read in terms i can not transfer to my start page, i have recorded some fooling around but only from following from a you tube video and unable to use any ad ons in the studio one artist so why whould i think more money would make me capable in pro? how can i be schooled on how to use my investment and i have no problem buying anything as upgrading to pro and easy drummer but i need to know where i can get directions on how to use this product not just brief hard to follow wrong applications of it.
Does the artist have drums?
Can we buy profationals features in artist vr ?
Yes
I have a serious question , is it one time purchase?
Yes… but there also some extra plugins for a bit more
What about Presouns Sphere
for algho
my ego required that i get pro 😂
but actually just got it and super excited to GTFO of pro tools 🤸
If upgrade to Studio Professional 5.5 will I lose Artist 5.0
First
I hate desktop or laptop DAW’S, Because there’s so many damn features and options even little minor petty stuff that shouldn’t even be in there. Particularly if you’re new to it. Your gonna be spending about 90% of your time trying to figure out where things are at and very little time creating music
S1 is pretty easy to get around on and learn.
Of course you should. If you feel you don't need to, then you are actually a beginner and you have no idea what S5 does and why it's a beast. I'm a Power User since v1.5.
I'mma give this a good laugh for the effort
What is a power user??? LMAO
@@itsrelativ3967 If you had to ask you already responded to the wrong comment. 😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😳😳🍷🍷🍷
Raleigh Simmons SoundCloud “Hebrew I AM” Would love to do some music with you. Holla.
I’ll check ya out
sucks triton costs 250 bucks. hella expensive
As far as i understand, you cant use third party plugins in Studio One Artist (?)
Now u can
Only problem is Studio One is full of bugs and the things that they sell it todo hardly ever work. also they depend on youtubers to solve issues and create tutorials. Their support is minimal. If some RUclips hasn't figured it out you won't find help. Its a good production tool, but the bugs will drive you FN insane. I know once I get into logic I'm done, its just I've learned studio one so well.
