Hi Ralph! first of all, Great video, Great review! You almost answered all my questions and doubts about this babies. Just one thing I'd like to know, is the fan too noisy? My plan is to have the light attached to the camera by the hot shoe and I don't know if fan-noise could be too loud and gent mixed with ambient sound? Many thanks and best regards from Barcelona, Spain!

G’day. Thanks. Well for that specific use you’d find the fan too noisy I reckon. You can’t hear it when studio filming but when it sits on your camera you’d find it quite annoying I reckon.

@@RalphMayhewPhotography Hi there, many thanks for your answer! I've decided to buy it anyway, as it seemed an affordable yet effective option for ENG lightning. Just to let you know, I received it today and in the first tests I made I found that in-camera mic does filters fan-noise (I just turned on the light for few minutes, but I could hear the fan on). That said, so far so good! Will let you know how it works in real-life conditions, maybe you'd find my feedback useful. Thanks again and best regards!

Thanks mate. That’s very helpful research in deed. What camera are you shooting on? I’ve found my Nikon’s pick up all those noises - fans, anchor points clanging and noisy lens AF.

    Did you notice overheating issues?

No I haven’t. The fan in them certainly gets going and cools down the unit after use.

Would 2 of them be enough in a small 10square m studio. Probably will not even use the whole room for shooting videos.

I think they’ll be effective (not knowing your setup, but they are bright and easily controllable).
