I recently moved to Hachijojima to teach English on the island. This video is so beautiful and I feel so grateful to be on the island now. I managed to explore the Royal hotel a week or two ago and thought it was stunning. Very dangerous but also such a surreal feeling to the whole thing. That undeveloped film is an absolute gem of a find. I was looking to see if there was anything interesting like that, the best I found was the Piano in the room with all the vegetation. It would be so cool to film someone playing on it

I doubt that the piano will still work if it's in a room with a lot of vegetation. Piano's and moisture don't go very well together. Would be an epic sight for sure tho!

Depends on the cause of the demise. Mass extinction events knock out wildlife and nature too, be crazy to think what would take over if it wasn't trees and vines. Back to enormous mushroom spires maybe. New nature.
What problems are we facing except crazy hysteria? The vegitation is increasing at a fantastic rate and we have all we need. I know that the business people want us all to buy a new car but that will not help or harm the planet in any way but it will make certain people slightly richer. For the rest of us our lives will go on.

The school in Ikeshima made me both happy and sad. I was happy that the staff members were still so enthusiastic about teaching those 3 kids but also sad about how quiet the school seem. I’m a preschool teacher and I adore the usual bustling noises of a busy school day and children laughing and chatting away at recess.

dont worry, japanese people are quit people who look for peace, as they are also government workers, they get paid a good amount of money. I also think those 3 students are the final remaining students to graduate before they shut it down.

I'm so amazed by the second location, both regarding how 50% of it is completely weather torn, and the other 50% of rooms opposite some of the decayed ones are almost in pristine condition.

I'll always be amazed on how the Japanese people looked out for each other. I remember the news about the train station that was supposed to be closed down but not until their one and only passenger graduated and not need it. Just like those teachers teaching those kids.

I'm pretty certain the last guy in the developed pictures before the Yes guys ones was another urban explorer that was there before them. Looks like the person took their picture and left it there. Thats crazy to think

Leaving items behind when moving or abandoning a property is known as "mottainai" , that roughly means to "not waste that which is valueable" i.e. to avoid wasting things that still have value, even if they are no longer needed by the person leaving them behind, but could be useful for anyone who might stumble upon it. It's hard to describe that feeling that abandoned places can give off. It's a mix of loneliness and emptiness. It's a reminder that time doesn't stop and eventually we are all forgotten. There are probably still people who have vivid and great memories of these places. All that remains now is the shell and a glimpse of the past. You can't help but wonder who lived and worked there and what their lives are like now. Memories remain but you can never revisit them. This is like walking in memories. Awesome video!

All my life, I have always fell in love with collecting different things, especially things with historical impact. Those developed photos are truly breathtaking, something like that where you find a strangers' childhood memories is a once in a lifetime find. I was searching through books in a Goodwill and found a photo of a stranger between the pages. I assume his wife donated the book after his passing, but it's crazy to uncover something valuable and a memory lost in time, just for the next person to find.

I can’t believe they visited that resort! I only learnt about the resort the other day when I stumbled upon it so I’m surprised to see a big RUclips channel like Yes Theory do a video on it. I was looking up the Island and learning about it because I thought it would be interesting to live in such a place and then in the pictures on google I saw these pictures of this big abandoned hotel and I was intrigued. So I looked it up and read about it and I thought it was really interesting. When I saw the thumbnail for the video I was like “no way that’s the same hotel I’m thinking of. Man I wish I could go to Japan.. I keep begging my parents to take me there for my senior trip and even told them that I’d put all of my money from working into it but they keep saying that we dont have the money for it. I’ve been dying to go there for more than four years and be able to experience the different culture and people and food and sights. I’ve literally never left America and it just feels like there’s nothing more to the more to the world sometimes. Thank you guys for your videos, they’ve kept me optimistic for so long.

Jesus doesn’t only reference hell, he describes it in great detail. He says it is a place of eternal torment (Luke 16:23), of unquenchable fire (Mark 9:43), where the worm does not die (Mark 9:48), where people will gnash their teeth in anguish and regret (Matt. 13:42), and from which there is no return, even to warn loved ones (Luke 16:19-31).
