16:45 The funniest part was when matey left to walk back down the mountain alone. He wasn't staying up there with you lot to catch a savage a bumming in the middle of the night.
This is by far one of the coolest most terrifying videos I have ever seen, and I'm sure thousands of others have probably said the same. You guys are the epitome of courage, strength, fearlessness, and love. You give hope to a world of dreamers and success without stereotypes. You offer spirituality without words for a people who cannot hear, and vision to all those who cannot see. It makes sense why you all laugh and smile as often as you do, because you have been blessed by The GREAT SPIRIT, whose LOVE directs your paths as HE smiles down on you!
Just watch your video. Awesome. Bravo and congrats to your success in climbing the loneliest house on earth. I'm envious of what you all did. Totally awesome. I applaude & admire your courage - all of you. God bless you all in your next journey. Now I became one of your thousands of fans. CONGRATULATIONS & more power. - fan from Canada 🇨🇦.
Keeping high morale is one of the most important parts of making it through journeys like this and, because every moment was met with a smile, what could have been a grueling trek is one of my happiest memories. Friends, thank you for the invite on this trip. And, to you and everyone here who watched and enjoyed the ride with us, thank you for being such great company. It's been a joy and an honor to adventure with y'all :)
I agree with you about morale. Having a positive mindset will get you up and over, around and through every harsh obstacle you will come across. The trick is to look for small things you love and appreciate along your path. A pretty flower, a cute bug, a nice view or just something goofy you experience. I've traveled a lot across America and even walked from Florida to California.
At this point, Yes Theory is beating all odds and doing some of the craziest, wildest things anyone could ever challenge to do. Truly inspiring and amazing.
You guys all seem like pretty chill guys and great friends. One of the coolest things for me is how a random hiker could just join your groups and seem like he’s been there the whole time. I wish I had friends like this. Props for making this trek a reality!
Imagine planning for weeks to go alone to the most lonely cabin in the world, almost getting there on your own on the most perfect day, just to find a group of 4 bro's filming a youtube video heading to the same cabin.
So what that there is 4 guys there exploring the earth 🌎 !! If you wana be alone stay in your room, like the guy who showed up out of nowhere.. he was super weird and rude and made their experience uncomfortable. Only weird individual's have a since of entitlement. Imagine one day the indigenous ppl start asking everyone to leave America.
To all the brave and tireless people who carried all of the materials and contents up to build & maintain the cabin over the years I am in awe..of your greatness!
@@glennwall552 That's my bet, too. Make a nice bundle of parts or even the entire hut somewhere nicely accessible and flat, then have a nicely beefy Sikorsky Skycrane or S-58 carry it where two people put some holes into the rock and cemented in anchors for it. In winters, this hut must withstand insane conditions!
They used pack animals to carry the materials until they reached the final rocky area with the ladders. Then a tram system was built with ropes to carry it the rest of the way up. What's even more interesting is they had to blast the top off of the rock the cabin is on in order to have a flat surface to build on. They most likely used TNT for tha
Well. That was definetly the adventure of my Summer. Such a pleasure to have met you guys and shared that experience up in the cabin together, thanks so much again for inviting me up there. The sunset and sunrise was like anything words could describe. You all are incredible humans. I'll be watching your next adventures closely, and remember: "it's bad luck to kill a sea bird."
I have to ask, did you really go up there totally alone and not know the other guys would be there also? And was it your first time at the cabin? Or had you done the trip before? We need to know 🤘🤘🤘
@@omegaentertainment1 I had no idea who they were. I was there alone. I had hiked this a month before but couldn't get to the top because I didn't have the proper gear and there was much more glacier coverage. At the point I turned back I told myself this isn't worth possibly dying over. Cause I was alone then too. Coolest thing was if I got up there I would have never met these cool guys cause I wouldn't have gone again a month later. Or. Ya know. I would have been dead.
@@Antheraws That's awesome and I think it makes for an even better story! I wish they had asked you these things and included them in the video, because the fact that they ran into a total stranger who was alone and not in a group on the way up was one of the most fascinating things about the video. That's flippin' amazing, man. I would also like to know more about Don coming up alone even though he's obviously done it many times. Did you pass him on your way back down as he was coming up? Also, I would've loved to see you stay and go back down with the group instead of heading back down on your own, but you obviously have plenty of experience and confidence in your abilities. If you're taking these types of challenges all alone, you should totally make a RUclips channel to document your travels. I think lots of people would watch. Either way, we're all glad you made it to the top and back down safely!
@@omegaentertainment1 thanks man plenty of people tell me I should but the equipment costs a lot of money and it's pretty hefty to carry. Those guys were carrying lots of filming gear to make a great product. There's also a lot of video editing that Tommy does, which takes a degree and patience I just don't see myself making time for. I did run into Don on the way down. He sure seemed to be a crusty type of dude and hope they all got along up there. I needed to be somewhere that evening and following day, so I headed out before them. The coolest part that was not mentioned was I saw them getting ready in the morning. They asked what I was up to and I told them I wasn't going to spend the night up there because I really didn't need to I just wanted to get up there and experience that. I also know people go up there as couples or groups in a more sentimental setting and I didn't want to impose on their experience because they came out from France to experience this. They passed me on the way up because I had a huff huff bike and they had e-bikes. When I got to the top no one was there and I was like man I wonder if they made a wrong turn or something. When I was a good ways down the mountain I ran into them on their way up and asked how the hell did I beat you guys to the top? This was a significant ways down the peak as well. We chatted for like twenty minutes. I didn't want to go but I needed to get to my camp site where I pitched my tent before dark. I was maybe eight minutes where I was climbing that rope to the top of the spine where I heard "HEY STEFAN" It was then I popped my head over the ridge just like a gopher and said. "YEAH?" "WE'RE GOING TO HAVE DONE WHISKEY TONIGHT IN THE CABIN IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT SENTIMENTAL!" (This was Alex, Tommy had suggested to the group that they should invite me) *Paused* "FUCK YEAH!!!" and down I went that rope again and up that leg of the mountain and rickety ladder again. I can't thank those guys enough for asking me to join them. I really got to know each and everyone of those guys, they all are raw and so very humble. Beyond that I had no idea what I was turning away from and missing out on the most fantastic sunrise and sunset. Very fortunate I went twice and experienced this adventure with these guys.
@@Antheraws crusty...hope that is a good thing. I had left the parking area at 5am with a 44 lbs pack and a board strapped to my back and I was celebrating my 64th birthday. I probably was a bit crusty when I got there about 3:30pm. They were young, fresh and bored from staying there the night before. I was a little tired and they were not but we shared a very special place together that night and had a great morning. They did not mention we watched the Bolt Creek fire from the lookout that morning. I did share stories with them. The history of the lookout IS the real story. Don
I have been binge watching your channel for the last little while and I must say, if I were 45 year younger, I would love to do what you are doing. Your lives will be filled with so many memories and adventures and friends. Please appreciate what you are able to do while you can. Life is very short.
@@KneeJerkReactor Just start by going to a local wooded area. Big enough to drown out traffic and noise, small enough to walk in any given direction you'll find people. Its a great way to start regardless of your fitness level. If you wanna be super super careful, which at any level of doing this you never can be, just bring a backpack with medical and rescue supplies(GPS, emergency radio, etc)and some snacks and just be out there for a couple hours. Sit in a single place if you'd like. But do it. And as far as not eating being a problem, if you FORCE yourself into a situation where you cant obtain your vice, you will slowly start to overcome it and it will snowball into recovery. Always needing to eat? Go where there is no/little food>Be proud you did that>Go a little longer>be more proud and it will help you. I did this with alcohol and cigarettes. Its slow, but a sense of pride will always be beneficial, you just need to take that first step.
Imagine back when this was first built. Bringing all of that up?! AND building it in general. Also the people that still maintain it to this day. Truly incredible. Now that might have to be added to my bucket list
When hiking the mountains to stay in cabins we always bring something to leave behind for those who come after us. Coloured pencils and paper, books, board games, tinned food, utensils… It’s always amazing to find these little goodies from others before us. And the artwork that decorates some of them. What a thrill!
As someone who has hiked dangerous trails in the mountains of Europe I can say this touched me. Loved the storytelling and editing. Extremely proud of Thomas and Tommy for going all in and succeeding. Much love!
Hats off to whomever built that cabin. I will never again complain about having to make another trip to the hardware store to get something I forgot; never!
This video brought me such unimaginable joy, especially the little anecdote at the end. So much of an experience is just the unexpected connections you make along the way... and a shared adventure brings you closer than anything possible. I want to give Tommy a massive hug - to do this for one of your first hiking and camping experiences is INSANE. I'm so happy he said yes. And for Alex - I totally agree. You want to go on adventures that push boundaries, but it's so hard to find people who will go with you. I'm so happy he found two new friends in the area, that is so beyond wholesome. I would like to do this hike, let me know if you're going!

Now THAT IS AN ADVENTURE!!! Good job young men! I'm a 67-year-old retired emergency RN who lives rather deep in the woods of rural Maine and has done so for the last 37 years...meaning that I appreciate how being immersed in nature can change one's life. Relish the memories that will now tie you all together. You probably haven't yet figured out how such an adventure will continue to change the entire course of your lives. Fezzy ❤
I went there and climbed this alone, it was the most breath taking event in my life. It was my way to say goodbye to one of my brothers who died of cancer. It is so far from other people that when the only other two on the mountain passed me as they were coming down, it was then I knew I was truly alone.
@@slv2thaGrind much harder in the winter months. I've known only two people to do the entire ascent in the winter. Becomes a technical climb and you have to deal with and face snow fields that become much more dangerous. Also the cabin was first built with a combination of carried in supplies and helicopter assistance. Part of why it only lasted for 6 months was the difficulty in keeping it well supplied. The remoteness also meant a higher upkeep than originally planned. Combined with better methods it quickly became obsolete. Amazing history.
I can't believe that you guys still manage to make such amazing and different content, when you've practically done just about everything. I've been a fan and subscriber for years, and I'll keep being one.
There's so much they can and will do. They've sure done all the typical "extreme" stunts and adventures, and yet there's so much more unique things and places to see.
I love your comment. I think there's lots of positivity behind it and I'm glad you're part of the YesFam!!! The only issue I have with this comment is the "I'll continue to be one" part....please, keep being a part of the Yes FAMILY, but while you're at it, let the family inspire you to seek your discomfort!! Get out in the magical place we live in and BRING CAMERAS and lots and LOTS of batteries!!! Start filming anything and everything you see or what you feel should be shared with the world!!! Start a family of your own!!! Why not? It can't hurt. It can only inspire others to do so as well!!! GET OUT THERE!!!!!
Thanks for the Disclaimer... As a mountain rescuer, we see so many people inspired by youtubers and instagramers to do hikes that are FAR out of their comfort zone
In New Zealand we have over 300+ huts in our National Parks which people can freely hike to, and stay in. There often equipped with a fireplace/stove, sleeping quarters, benches, tables, and great views of the surrounding landscape. I just think there's something so special about getting into nature, away from the hustle and bustle, meeting like minded people and sharing memories and adventures in the great outdoors. Thanks for a great video guys.
Same here in Scotland, they're called bothys. People doing expeditions, hikes or treks can sleep in them for as long as they like. However, they're pretty empty its mostly just for shelter and a bit of comfort.
I would be too scared to go up there, and too scared to sleep in that cabin. My imagination would make it impossible lol. Very impressive, guys! I was freaking out watching this haha
The lookout was built over a three-year period between 1930 and 1932 by Harold Engles and Fred Benesh. Engles and Harry Bedel had first scaled the peak in 1929, to investigate its feasibility as a fire observation site, given its visual prominence. The site was prepared by blasting 15 feet (4.6 m) off the top of the pinnacle to create a level foundation. Construction materials were brought by pack animals to within 600 feet (180 m) of the summit, and transported via a tram system to the work site, which was accessed by a series of ropes and ladders. The building is a nearly standard example of an L-4 Forest Service lookout, lacking only an outside catwalk due to the site geography. Engles and Benesh had originally planned to place a smaller D-5 lookout, a 12 by 12 feet (3.7 m × 3.7 m) structure that was standard until 1929. The building is one of two gable-roofed L-4 models still standing in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The building was staffed seasonally between 1933 and 1942, and was then abandoned for financial reasons. Everett Mountaineers, a local mountaineering group, has taken over its maintenance. The roof was replaced in 2015 using materials delivered via helicopter by the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. Major repairs were completed in 2021 by the volunteer group Friends of Three Fingers Lookout, including replacement of broken windows and shutters.
These are the kind of adventures I’ve always dreamt of!!! I feel like I was born to live these moments! I feel my life so small and so repressing and so caging… I’d love to know many unknown places around the world, like you guys do, adventuring and connecting to people I never met from everywhere around the world!!! In other words, to LIVE this life, and not only surviving. But… I didn’t have the luck to be born in a country where I could have some conditions to afford that. Even working a lot. And I really feel caged in here, in that place, in that job, in this body, in that city… without having any chance to accomplish my dreams and fulfill my life… If I only had the chance… 😢
Alex is so right. It's crazy hard to find a person, more or less, multiple people, who are on the same level of adventure and exploring, or even the willingness to try something like this. This journey you all took together, was heartwarming, and no doubt something you all won't forget. For the most part, I hike alone. Not by choice. So I can understand, that when you do a hike on this scale, your emotions can get crazy. It's hard to find the words to explain what you see and feel. You push yourself, but when you finally make it, you're on top of the world and can see it's beauty. When you can share it with someone else, It's just that much better. Thank you all, to everyone who shares their adventures, that most people can't take themselves. Godspeed and keep getting it!
Couldn't agree more. I have the added factor of living in NYC, so just finding anyone who even truly enjoys nature and getting away from the city is like finding a needle in a haystack. I've met many a person who likes the idea of adventure but they lack the follow through.
Story of my life. Haha. I'm in the mountains of NC. Fairly close to the AT. Like you said, Everybody like the idea of doing something, until it comes time do it.
The character development of Thomas is literally something out of an anime series. It's so fulfilling and incredible especially if you've watched yes theory for so long. To see a dude who was so scared of heights before and so many other tasks, to go on top on one of the highest peaks and meditate like a goddamn MONK was friggin epic. And we can't forget tommy. Yes theory really feels like characters in a tv show, and you watch each of the cast grow throughout the various challenges they come across
@@jacksongayton9915 much appreciated man, I will say there was a lot of off screen footage where we all bonded. I think it was meant to be just that. It wouldn't be natural if a camera was involved you know? Who knows. Maybe I'll be seeing yes theory again for another adventure. Or perhaps here from Alex and Jake. If not. I sure had a hell of a time getting to know them and introduced to this channel. I will say too the beautiful thing about this is since I moved away from home in 2018 people ask me what I do and now I can show them this video. Simply beautiful stuff. Cause an explanation and photos doesn't capture what theses guys did.
@@Antheraws You’ve inspired me to do more stuff on my own and to stop waiting to “find my tribe” to do the things I want to do. I mean, I’m not planning to do any dangerous hikes - although I do enjoy watching you who have the courage and the physical ability to do such things, but I have a lot of other things I’ve been putting off until I felt like I had a supportive group to do them with. Eff it. You going out there on your own has told me that you can find likeminded people along the way. And they may just be people you bond with for one adventure, or they may become lifelong friends. Either way it’s worth the experience. ❤
usually physically demanding hikes like these take months of training leading up to it. Its highly impressive that you guys were able to jump right into it! This is one of the most incredible videos Ive ever watched
Those bikes looked like e-mtb's, if they weren't then yeah, a few thousand ft climb before an 8 mile hike is hugely impressive. With e-bikes this is certainly not an easy hike, but it's within the realm of what someone in decent hiking shape can take on without much lead up (although you should get a little glacier training, like glissading and self arresting).
e-mtbs (which basically make effort zero for the first leg) and 4k over ten miles. Its hard but as long as you are physically active, you should be able to go out and do this tomorrow.
The thing is that along the years, you guys are getting better…. Better at storytelling, editing, shooting… the quality that you guys have delivered is phenomenal! Congratulations, keep doing it the right way!
Yes Theory making 20-minute movies and documentaries on the weekly is a feat of itself. Considering the high quality and diverse content as well, I honestly have no idea how much work you must all put in every single week. Thank you for all your amazing content!
Absolutely. Their vast incentive and ability to achieve what they do is phenomenal. You don’t even get this kind of documentary content with the BBC, at the cost of every UK household having to pay them £159.00 a year just for the pleasure of owning a TV. I love watching these guys, their humour, energy and passion for travel to the worlds most weird, wonderful and extreme places seems to have no boundaries. For someone like me who is disabled and housebound, high quality film content like Yes Theory is a portal to a world I cannot physically visit. Especially when my passion to travel is just as insatiable as theirs. I wish them every success in film and documentary, they deserve it.
@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040that would be ridiculously dangerous, as zeppelins lack precise control during the 30s, could drift easily many feet sideways. On such close proximity to hillside would be VERY dangerous 😅
It's unreal a group of people even got the building supplies up there. You watch how hard the hike is on it's own. Imagine carrying lumber and glass windows with you. Pure determination
The US Government built these fire lookouts all over the country during the Great Depression. I think hiring people to build these things and man them was more about FDR's New Deal plan to put unemployed Americans back to work than actually preventing forest fires because most of them were swiftly abandoned as soon as WWII broke out. There is one about a mile up the road from our family farm in eastern VA that was built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps for the VA Department of Forestry. The old widow lady who owned the farm across the road from us when I was a kid told me they built it with hand tools because there was no electricity out there until 1947. They needed water to mix the concrete for the foundation and her husband told them they could get water from their well but the (hand dug) well at their farmhouse quickly ran dry so the Feds brought in a drilling rig and and they got a new deep well out of the deal. The one by our farm is a small 7'x7' metal cab atop a 120' metal Aermotor tower (they also made windmills) and I was told it came in crates so it was like putting up a big erector set. When I was a kid back in the 80s it was starting to show its age but was still manned during the hot dry summer months and I used to ride my bicycle down there and climb to the top to talk to the Forest Service employee manning it. He showed me how they used triangulation to determine the location of a forest fire from a plume of smoke. For the system to work they had to have all the lookouts in the surrounding counties manned as well. The old guy told me to "come back any time" so I imagine that he was glad to have some company to break the monotony even if it was 12 year old boy. LOL I guess whoever manned this one on top of that mountain back in the day must have stayed up there for weeks at a time because that is one hell of a commute to work!
@@gtd360 per the National Register of Historic Places nomination form: "Horses and pack mules were used to carry bundles of construction materials and equipment up the trail to within 600 feet of the site. A tram was constructed to transport the supplies most of the remaining distance. Reportedly, some cable and wood remnants from this system still remain on the mountain. A series of three ladders and hand ropes had to be installed to mount the steep rock face at the top of the peak."
When Thomas starting meditating, and the drone started panning over the cabin with the music. My whole body was covered in chills, I remember saying 'wow' and thinking, this is exactly why I love yes theory. To feel what you feel in moments like these, just behind the camera. Thank you for bringing us along, you really keep me in awe of you guys with every single upload. ❤️
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share some good news with you all. Let's just put it this way, the Ten Commandments are called the Moral Law. Ask yourself this. How many lies have you told? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever used God's name in vein? Have you ever hated someone or ever looked with lust? This is for you to judge yourself, but chances are that you are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, fornicating, adulterer at heart and you HAVE to face God on judgement day. Now ask yourself this. If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. We must trust alone in Him to save us. In just a moment of time you can pass from death to life. Jesus said, "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again." That is how we enter heaven. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️The true joy of Christ dwells in me!!! Does it in you? I know where I'm going when I die! Do you? I have an ETERNAL victory! Do you? I have more joy than ever because of what Christ has done. I have been down both roads. The road of the wicked and the road of Christ. Christ is way better and my cup runneth over with true joy and salvation. If you do not know the One true God and are not sure of your salvation, I promise He will never fail you. Turn to Him in repentance and faith. Repent means to confess and forsake your sins, never turning back to them. I tried changing on my own but I couldn't. It took the power of Christ on the inside of me to do it for me. He will give you a new and clean heart with new and clean desires and you shall be born again. A new creation in Christ Jesus!! Hallelujah! Jesus said in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again! Thank you Lord Jesus!✝️
it boggles my mind how they managed to build that cabin on that rickety precipice. The amount of dedication to carry the materials, let alone yourself, up and down the mountain is unfathomable. edit: read the wikipedia article on how the place was built, very interesting. Was built by Harold Engles and Fred Benesh over a period of 3 years.
I believe that the Wiki article you're referring to is at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Fingers_Lookout A fascinating story of how it was built--even using pack animals. George, Canada
Dear Guys…..what an adventure. Can you imagine just thinking about your trip, going through the memories of it when you reach your 70’s… (I’m pushing 75 in a couple of weeks) you will hold onto your special newly made friendships for the rest of your lives. You guys will always be there for each other. Thank you especially…for taking us along with you. Please write a 4 part (there were 4 of you, right? Maybe 4 1/2, including the single fellow that came up to the cabin on his own.) book, with each of you writing a part of the book. Your adventure through each of your eyes. Thanks Boys.
The shot at 15:34 is one of the most beautiful shots I've ever seen on RUclips, props to the cameraman. And the ending at 22:15... so sweet. The way you craft stories from your adventures is incredibly skilled. You've mastered the art of storytelling honestly.

Hallelujah!!! Jesus said in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again! Thank you Lord Jesus!✝️
As an avid climber and backpacker, I've been dreaming of this summit for a long time. This is definitely the most comprehensive video I've seen and super useful, thank you soo much for making this!
I absolutely loved this video, as I do all their videos, but my favorite part was at the very end when Thomas said that Alex, Jake and Stefan all bonded and continued going on hikes together 💖 Truly the best part of their videos is when people make real connections and new bonds with others from their experiences together. The true meaning behind what it really means to seek discomfort is to not only do something really difficult and out of your comfort zone but to make new connections with people that you had never thought possible before doing something outside of your comfort zone and growing and learning together. These guys are truly an inspiration to what it means to be human and learn and grow in life, it's the most beautiful thing about life to me. Now I just got to follow along and stop hiding from my discomfort!! Thank you guys for all of your videos and inspirations to this world, y'all are really amazing people 💖💖💖
ive never been on a hike in my life and i genuinely teared up watching this. this looks so incredibly beautiful, and it makes me want to go out of my comfort zone even more and travel to places ive never been
I've only been up a couple of mountains in my life, not as crazy as this one. And both mountains I had times where I thought it would be safer to go back. I would panic a bit and get anxious. But if you manage to push through that, which you CAN do - you will have the most calm and relaxing feeling afterwards - there's nothing else like it!
Thomas, that shot of you meditating on the top with the drone encompassing the background took my breath away. If you see this comment, thank you for documenting the unexpected and most thrilling adventures. This channel has been an inspiration to me for the past few years that I have been watching you guys. Easily one of the best channels on RUclips :)
If this channel keeps your entertained, I know mine will surely put a smile on your face. I may not be the best just yet but with your love and support,we’ll definitely be at the top 1 day 🌟🫶🏼!!
Wow,this was indeed an adventure of epic proportions. Congratulations guys for making it to the top. What a view... It makes it all worth it. Nuff respect Bless up 💓
Literally teared up at the end of the video - Alex's experience has always been mine in that I don't know anyone who enjoys doing the things I do in regards to the wilderness and hiking. The last line you ended the video on was really touching and I suppose it just makes me think that I need to say yes to things, even things that might not interest me, because those favours return themselves.
Loved this. I was the person who grew queasy just climbing on a chair. I've experienced altitude sickness which is quite awful. However, I've managed to go on a few adventures and banishing the fear. THIS I COULD NOT HAVE UNDERTAKEN
Bro, my hands are sweating just watching this. I have zero interest on doing anything height related, so I appreciate people like yourself who do these things and upload them for the world to see.
I love the forest, the mountains, snow, and getting away from people as often as humanly possible, and live near the Cascade Range in california, but this looks like pure and utter hell
That's my home state, thanks for showing the beauty of the cascades to the world! I've seen that cabin online before and wanted to stay in it, now it's for sure on my bucket list. Also, it's a shame that it was so smoky when you guys went up, unfortunately that's our new reality with so many wildfires in the summer. It smells like smoke as I'm writing this.
Thank you for supporting one of the local gear shops, Ascent Outdoors! And I'm glad ya'll got to meet Don, he's a pretty neat guy. Would have been neat for a bit more of the history of the lookout to be included in the video, it's an incredible story.
I thought a history and part of the video of the cabin itself. I noted the cables here holding the cabin in place during windstorms. Reminds me of the large building on top of Mt. Washington in New England where large huge chains go over the top of the building and are secured to the rock to hold the building in high wind!
The ICONS that built this cabin and the ICONS that maintain it-YOU ARE AMAZING! Y’all are amazing for making it to the cabin! Thank you for the video bc I could never!
Been watching this channel for a while, and has given me the confidence to book a one way flight to the other side of the world to travel Australia on a budget by myself
Good job showing how grueling the climbing/hiking can be. It takes so much out of you...I live here. One time I almost gave up, but out of the woods came a 72yrs old lady who asked me to step out of the way, and she breezed by me. I swear that old lady was like a soldier, and I thought "If you wimp out and the boys see that old lady do it, you will never hear the end of it" I pressed on...lol...the summit was worth it
Ah, it still amazes me that only 7.88 million people know about this channel like what?!! They are the most incredible channel and I'm so glad I'm a part of the yes theory fam. Once again, the cinematography, the script/voice-over, the history and the way the film is delivered. Absolutely breathtaking. I love their friendship and the way they are making so many people face their fears and share the joy and adventures of life together. I really hope I get to meet Thomas, Matt, Amar, Tommy, and Eric one day because they are some of my hero's and have inspired me to seek discomfort. I love you guys. Thank you for all of your hard work and laughter.
I also have a fear of heights and I shat myself when they reach the top. I climbed a much smaller mountain in Yellowstone and I was shaking the entire way. I cannot imagine how you felt inside during the climb Thomas. You are an absolute legend.
I literally teared up for you guys watching this. Amazing experience. Thank you for bringing us along (btw this is the first video I’ve watched on your channel!)
I just found this channel. HOW?WHY this channel has only now been recommended me, I don't know. This is my new BEST CHANNEL on YT. This is exactly why I quite buying conventional cable almost 20 years ago. The production, stories, narration and spirituality are simply the best. Reminds me of a more sane, less troubled Anthony Bourdain approach to exploration and commentary.
My favorite thing about this channel isn’t how many friends you make with complete strangers but it’s how many of those strangers find friends with other complete strangers in their own town because of you guys 🥰
As a PNW native, he's never gone camping and you're taking him up our hills lmao "We pulled off from the store and we are immediately in the wilderness." Welcome to the PNW! The moment you're out of any city, you're in a literal rainforest in the middle of no where. We're secluded up here, even the big cities like Portland, Seattle, or Vancouver.
I carried a board up for one of the broken shutters. I helped carry up more boards the next weekend. It was also in celebration for my 64th birthday. There are instructions on how/where to go to the bathroom but now that the lookout has become so popular we are working to have everyone blue bag their human solid waste and carry it out.
Dollars to doughnuts this was part of the Civilian Conservation Corps' efforts. Early in his presidency, Roosevelt created all sorts of employment initiatives to give young men jobs and aid struggling families during the Depression. (I believe two thirds of their wage had to be sent home to their parents.) Many of the trails hikers use today were blazed, maintained, or rejuvenated by the CCC, as well as fire look-outs like this one and roads through wilderness areas.
the scenic drone shots up there made me physically hold my breath. insane video you guys, all my respect to yall and to the volunteers like don who keep this cabin intact!!

That is amazing! The longest hike I’ve done is up a Munro in Scotland, about 1KM high. It was the most physically and mentally demanding thing I’ve ever done, particularly because it was raining heavily, so I can’t imagine how difficult it was climbing to that cabin. Huge respect to you all for doing it, and to the volunteers who do that climb regularly!
How to put it? All in all, I think this is a very meaningful thing. And they document it all and share it for people to see, which is respectable. Do you still go up the mountain often?
Such luck, I'm not really sure if I survived this without countless panics, heart-attacks and I don't, maybe I;m having panics just watching it while also being so emersed and enjoying it imagining the being up there. Thank you for sharing this beatiful experience with us. Traveling is on the top of my todo things. Edit: watching this from Mogadishu, Somalia. Hope you will be here day asap, and please the entire team.
Being born and raised in washington my whole life, so happy to see you guys highlighting some of our amazing sights, thank you again for putting this out there, more people should visit washington and see what it has to offer
I spent spring 2021 to spring of 2022 in Washington as a travel nurse and had an fantastic time chasing waterfalls, hiking, visiting Mt St Helens, seeing Olympic NP and NF, Rialto Beach, Cape Flattery, and so many other adventures. I already have a huge new list of places to visit in and around Mt Rainier, Mt Ellinor, several other lookout east of Seattle, the North Cascades and this (name withheld) lookout is on the list.
Out of everything you guys have done, this adventure is the most endearing, crazy, and amazing yet. I got non-stop goosebumps while watching the video.

My dad was one of the volunteers that helped maintain the cabin! I’ve hiked up to it several times with him, and it’s unlike anything you’ll ever see.

It looks like it's more towards Alberta side than Vancouver. Is that correct?

Keeping high morale is one of the most important parts of making it through journeys like this and, because every moment was met with a smile, what could have been a grueling trek is one of my happiest memories. Friends, thank you for the invite on this trip. And, to you and everyone here who watched and enjoyed the ride with us, thank you for being such great company. It's been a joy and an honor to adventure with y'all :)

Hey man. Would love to get you on a bike and hike. 😎

In winters, this hut must withstand insane conditions!
They used pack animals to carry the materials until they reached the final rocky area with the ladders. Then a tram system was built with ropes to carry it the rest of the way up. Well. That was definetly the adventure of my Summer. Such a pleasure to have met you guys and shared that experience up in the cabin together, thanks so much again for inviting me up there. The sunset and sunrise was like anything words could describe.

Your a real one for that ❤

@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040that would be ridiculously dangerous, as zeppelins lack precise control during the 30s, could drift easily many feet sideways. On such close proximity to hillside would be VERY dangerous 😅

LOL
I guess whoever manned this one on top of that mountain back in the day must have stayed up there for weeks at a time because that is one hell of a commute to work!
I was thinking helicopters, but those weren't invented until 7 years after this was built. I'd assume at one point they had a winch and pully system.
Mules lol
@@trevorn9381 That was a great read. Cheers Trevor.
At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.

Same! Well said!

This RUclips channel deserves much more recognition. Cheers to YesTheory
what more than almost 8 million subscribers? lol
Hahaha yeah but I really like this RUclips channel, I think they still have plenty of room for growth

I need a 1 hour video of the top of that mountain with the sunrise and that lil cabin on it. I could look at that forever...
You guys are so blessed to have each to do adventures like this. Love the bro love. Hopefully, I'll find my adventure buddies someday.
This is amazing! Great video as always... Also, those drone shots thooooooo!!! beautiful

The history of the cabin would be a good video for the Seek Discomfort channel.
I thought a history and part of the video of the cabin itself. I noted the cables here holding the cabin in place during windstorms. Reminds me of the large building on top of Mt. Good job showing how grueling the climbing/hiking can be. It takes so much out of you...I live here. @@OrdinaryJoe12 it is a personal experience story, not an informational documentary
