- Welcome! If you are new to the channel, I'm ti8ick (pronounced tibick or tibs), a Streamer/RUclipsr that has fallen down the rabbit hole of Warhammer 40k. I started with the game Rogue Trader (I love RPGs and normally my channel is about them). I'm going through the lore and even I got myself some minis to build! If this interests you, stay with us!

Tell them that we are falling back to a more strategical position to hold our lines and reduce the loss of numbers. Therefore, to continue this war for a longer amount of time. Don't worry, they'll get all giddy.

They tried to hold trenches against the Krieg haha. The Krieg were born in the trenches molded by them, they merely adopted them. My favorite Krie quote was when a planet being attacked by Tyranids was overrunning the defenses. The leader of the Krieg regiment told the other guard regiments his would stand and hold the line so the rest could retreat. They said that was insane you would all die, he responds "This is the Death Korp of Krieg did you think that was just a pretty name?"

That is from the book Warriors of Ultramar, right? One of the Uriel Ventris chronicles books.

What i liked most about Sodaz animations was, they showed a semi realistic combat scenario with combined forces instead of just a singular squad of Space Marines. Its a great tragedy GW forced them to stop doing 40k. But the Fallout animations Sodaz is doing now are great as well

They are the only ones that commisars try to keep alive as much as possible, because they are so willing to just run in and die in battle XD
That's meme, they don't care about individuals but they don't just run with lasgun and scream

For the Deathkorps, 99% Casualties and Achieving their objective is acceptable. The Deathkorp are sent for when a war of Attrition is the game, months long bombardments are needed, static trenchlines, they are specialists in a long forgotten form of Warfare. Trench Warfare.
They're also crackshots compared to the majority of the Guard

The best moment is shortly after you asked if they are bullet proof : When the artillery fired while they advanced. Normally there is one of two options.
A) You are a Space Marine and your forces are so precise and disciplined that this could work.
or
B) You are a crazy zealot that gives a fuck about his chances and does it anyway.
But there is one group in the entire Universe that is different. That is both at the same time. It is
C) Death Korps of Krieg

So the Warhammer Animation Controversy happened cause around the time Astartes was coming out GW announced "Warhammer +" a paid subscription platform for Official Warhammer Content.....right afterwards GW started pressuring the Warhammer Animation Community into Signing Up to make things for "Warhammer +", the catch was all their content had to be scrubbed from RUclips & their Channels closed. Many in the Warhammer Community saw signing up with this as a Betrayal & attacked any creator that decided to do it. Even then for the people that did sign up GW ended screwing most of them over in the end.
I´d like to point out, that the Space Marine survived a hit by a rocket launcher, that seems to have just made a hole through his chest...the guy was probably back in action within days.

Janovich has a series on both the Krieg Civil War (their origins) and is continuing another concerning the Siege of Vraks. It's in a similar style to Kings and Generals (Wizards and Warriors); so if it isn't your cup of tea, then Leutin might have a video on it [I think.]
Arbitor Ian has some great 40k videos(for learning) also
There is an interesting 3weeks old video called "WHO'S IN CHARGE? How the Imperium of Man is Organised" by him. It nicely presents you the "hierarchy" in the imperium...Even tho its not exactly that.

There was a lot of shit that went down when GW decided to start going after their fans who were making animations based on their I.P., later it turned out because they were starting their own streaming service (Warhammer TV).
If those idiots actually knew how to make money they would let people upload fan animations to the platform for free

Ah you've discovered SODAZ, good animations. Also I'd check Arch's playlist that details not only the Death Korps of Krieg, but also the Siege of Vraks that they partook in.
Imagine being that Khornite Berserker, you probably lived through the siege of terra, the great crusade before that, have thousands of years of combat experience, and you just taken out by some random kamikaze.

The version with sabaton playing over it is freaking awesome.
While every other Imperial Guard Comissar struggle to keep their men and stopping them from fleeing, Death Korps comissars struggle so bad to keep their men in line so they don't charge straight up into battle in a berserker mode. And it's not just a joke, this shit is canon HAHA

This is such a good one. Krieg is awesome, and your excitement was so fun to watch.
As a recommandation, "The Last Church" by "Kill Team Hungary YTC" is a very interresting story about the last priest on Terra
Kriegers are a special breed, much happy gasmask noises when being told an offensive is coming.
The Kriegers feel they betrayed the Emperor and to atone for that, they send their people to die for the Imperium in the most dangerous warzones.
Krieg's tithe to the Imperium is it's soldiers who are trained from a very early age with live weapons so deaths in training are not uncommon. Those who fail are used as live ammo target practice or are killed in training.
The paint job on your Krieger looks amazing.
Hehe back in basic training the official name for our shovels was KLAS (Kompakt Lätt Attack Spade) = Compact Light Attack Shovel.
2 very important rules
1: don't fight World Eaters ( unless you're a space Marine)
2: Definitely don't fight a World Eater in a confined space 😅
last rule is: If you must fight space marine in a confined space, you must have the meltagun pointed in their direction.

not bad for child soldiers... right ?!!! also the krieg hate soldiers who are wounded and survive more than traitors... and they can sens cowardice from the start... that is why the helrider (that is the name of their cavalry unit) stared at the poor tank operator !!!

I have limited knowledge about Warhammer and most of I know is from Luetin but Death Korps are basically not afraid of death and that whats makes them so dangerous.

Hey! For those of you interested in Sodaz's animation, they still put out videos. They have a phenomenal Halo animation and there's a Fallout series in progress right now.

The commenters might have already told you, but just in case, the "Whispers of the Warp" , in other words rumors, say that end of this year or more likely 1st quarter of next year , Krieg is getting a full army release.
No one knows what they might get , smart money is on Death Riders, the horse units, either as a full kit or a kit upgrade of the Rough Riders , Krieg specific character units , heavy weapon teams and a upgrade kit to most likely add Krieg bits and pieces to things like tanks.
SODAZ 40k animation (as well as Fallout, Titan Fall, Stalker etc etc) animations are great, it's a pity that 40k have missed this creator. SODAZ ongoing series about Fallout New Vegas (NCR taking over Helios from the Brotherhood of Steel) is MUST watch if you are familiar with Fallout series. But it's still not finished yet, maybe should wait a year-two.

In case anyone wondered why the old "trenching shovel" had serrated edges on it... Well, one of the reasons. :)
The krieg lore is so over the top. In lore they had to hold them back so they wouldn't go and die so eagerly in battle. Their asthetic is WW1 expect the krieg guys actually want to assault the entrenched machine guns.

First video of the list - 40k Lore, The Death Korps of Krieg! - is about the origins of the Death Korps, and is 74 minutes long. Great introduction to shovel boys :D

The only unrealistic part is a world eater leaving a marine alive while he deals with guardsmen, if he had the dark angel down it would be a chain sword in the throat.
Sometimes Chaos Marines are cocky, especially if the Bolter got destroyed.

the horses are not... horses. those thing agenetically engineered warmounts. first thing to notice is that they don't have hovves, they have talons, similar to the Emu or Ostrich. and you don't want that in your face....
Yeah, the gasmaskers are pretty hardcore.
From what I remember in comments of the video itself and all likes, it was received very positively. So doubt he got hate over that, but probably for him accepting to work with Games Workshop.
Since they are on like this crusade to ban or copyright strike anyone who has done anything warhammer animation related.
For example why the creator of If the emperor had TTS has stopped making anything about Emperor TTS, because he was afraid he was gonna be next and would lose money or his channel. But said he would come back if Games Workshiop would calm down.
I also think Sodaz is just letting the hate get to him and focus too much on minority hate when he recieved huge positive feedback. I get it can be hard for people making content for like first time and have hard time to isolate from minor hate.
It's like the guy who did Death of Hope, he stopped making it entirely for some minor like 5% of likes was dislikes.
While some did love the video and just generally gave some good critique of feedback on how he could make it even better, he took it as hate.
Corpos does a lot of things like that. It's a tactic they use to pressure small businesses and artists to work for them or sell the creations or just want them gone due to those small businesses/artists does better work than the corpos. What the corpos do the pressure them is of course the white collars hound them daily to sign on a contract or sends their thugs to harass them.

In a way the krieg have earned their redemption a thousand fold…but they are far to useless as instruments of war to EVER be told that. Some actually believe that the emperor of man planned for them to be like this and allowed for this to happen…because he needed cannon fodder that would never back down

Yeah, even just looking at Astartes, Sodaz, and Alfabusa, you can see a range of different responses to the media situation. I'm not as well versed in it all as I was a couple of years ago, but of course it's healthy to investigate a bit yourself and find the anecdotes, similarities and differences in the situations with each creator. Many channels covered it, and Alfabusa ending TTS seemed to be the biggest headline for a time...
I could go on, but back to my usual, haha. The earliest I recall learning of the Death Korps of Krieg - yes, with a K at that time lol - was in the December 2001 White Dwarf's Chapter Approved article. Chapter Approved handled all sorts of additional 40k content from Q & A, to rules for then new units or whole army lists with art and lore.
Much of the Krieg lore and look was already there, especially the grim accord with mortality, and the gas masks, but we still saw a few bare faces then.
While some of the art went further, the first Krieg minis were simply repaints of another then really new Imperial Guard regiment, the Armageddon Steel Legion. You'll find out about that bunch when you watch Helsreach... I could say more useful information before you watch that haha.
Ok so, back around 2nd edition, among the earliest and most iconic 40k characters were Imperial Guard Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, and the infamous Ork Warboss Ghazgull Mag Uruk Thraka. Oh boy, their rivalry was the stuff of legend. The legends of The Second War for Armageddon.
Fast forward to 2000, both have new minis, indeed most of their ranges got refreshed for 3rd edition, so it was time for a rematch! This would be a bold new concept. Codex: Armageddon was released, with four expansion army lists: Black Templars, Salamanders, Ork Speed Freeks, and the Steel Legion guard. Not only that, boardgame results could be logged online to sway the narrative, and you'll catch some of that, with most of those forces soon!
Before the Krieg, it was the plague marines of the Death Guard whose minis and art carried the creepy gas mask vibe, back in 2nd edition. Search "Oldhammer Death Guard" if you wanna check them out. A lot of impressive stuff can be done with mini design now, but I still have a soft spot for the understated Death Guard and Space Wolves minis from back then (before it was "all the wolves, all the time" hehe, but that's fine too) 😌
