40 Minute Shoulders & Triceps Workout | Level 2 | MOMENTUM - Day 7

    Today I am 29 weeks and 6 days pregnant and I'm so thankful to be able to rock this workout with you!
    Today's workout is a shoulders and triceps strength workout where we will work through 12 strength exercises after a warm up. We will complete 3 rounds of each strength movement for 45 seconds with 15 seconds rest in circuit format so you can challenge yourself more each round of the exercise. Make sure you push a heavy weight from the start of the circuit as each of the three rounds your muscles will be a bit more fatigued. We start the workout with the heavier shoulder and tricep circuits and work our way through the workout to end up with lighter weights.
    I used anywhere from my 5 pound dumbbells up to my 25 pound dumbbells for this workout.
    I also used my bench so if you would like to do that with me, grab your bench!
    The exercises:
    1. Shoulder Press
    2. Left Arm Push Press
    3. Right Arm Push Press
    4. Overhead Extension
    5. Seated Reclined Overhead Extension
    6. Flat Skull Crushers
    7. Lateral Raises
    8. Wide Bent Arm Rows
    9. Seated or Kneeling Wide Post Delt Flyes
    10. Tricep Kickbacks
    11. Bent Arm Raise in front
    12. Straight Arm Tricep Extensions

    Long time follower here and I gotta say, I love the 30 and 40 min, yet more intense workouts. I like how you link videos at the end for others who want longer workouts. I have a baby now and it is the perfect amount of time for me to finish a workout.

      Long time Sydney’s fan here too. I really enjoyed the longer workout but now doing the short workouts I feel I found a new favorite. I’m really enjoying the 30-40 minutes workouts!! Plus it fits perfect in my running schedule. Happy 🏋️‍♀️

    Gotta tell you, this morning I felt weak!!!! Not sure what was going on, I did push through but had to stop, reduce weights, swear….you all know how it goes!!! Completed and feel accomplished!!! This program is definitely the hardest one I’ve done in the 15 months I’ve been following Sydney!!! Happy Tuesday!!!

    Thank you for saying that lifting to failure is the goal. I was feeling so bummed that i couldn’t hang on to the weight for the full 45 seconds and had to drop down in weight, then you said that it is part of how you get better, truly made me smile and made me push thru the rest of the workout. I finished the workout feeling so damn powerful! You’re amazing Sydney! 🙏🏽

    Sydney's Daily Wisdom (42:35): "Make every rep your best rep. Then add one more on top of that." When I stop focusing on the amount of time I have left, and focus instead on the quality of my reps and trying to add just one more each round, it allows me to truly focus on my mind-body connection instead of my brain screaming, "HOW MUCH LONGER?" Have you experienced that same mindset shift?

    I love this program. It's pushing me with the 45 seconds of work time and pushing heavy weights. My arms were shaking today and reached failure.     Everything felt sooo heavy for me today. So many times I wanted to just give up cuz I couldn’t lift what I normally would. But I didn’t give up, I continued (struggles and all) and finished Day 7 of momentum. Can’t feel my arms 💪🔥💪🔥👑

    Took a rest day yesterday due to listening to my body. First round of this seasons pollen in VA has knocked me on my butt! Had a sinus headache before starting this but now am feeling SO MUCH BETTER. Movement helps so many things going on in your body. Pretty incredible

    Getting my best effort in the timeframe and not quitting. Even if it means closing my eyes and zeroing in on the move to get through it because I am stronger than the fatigue and burn. Day 7 crushed and feeling strong and getting stronger along with everyone.

    Only had the time to do about 25 min of this workout but HOLY MOLY it was insane! I felt so weak and I didn’t even do the whole thing! But I pushed through what I could, and it’s better than nothing. Shoulders are on fire!

    I’ve been experimenting with reducing weight recently-always felt like heavier was more efficient, but no-I am pleasantly surprised! Noticing a big difference in the burn and getting toned faster; felt the full circumference of my triceps during this one 🥵 - excellent feeling! Love you Sydney, thank you!

    Day 7 done! That first circuit was rough today, but I pushed through and am glad I did.

    So excited for this one. Does anyone else do this and then cardio in the day too? Should I do both? Still looking to drop a few more pounds. Love the strength workout with weights, but then I will also do some cardio too. 30 weeks!! Amazing! 2 more months until you get to meet baby 💕

    Not a fan of shoulder press first. Weights feel so heavy with arms not being warmed up yet. The double time for 45secs felt impossible

    I almost did not do this workout, because I was not looking forward to triceps and shoulders. I wanted something sweaty, but Oh boy was I wrong 😊😅 I did sweat and I'm so glad I did it, was difficult, but proud of me for pushing through and not giving up and throwing in the towel. Also learn something today- To focus on the quality of reps and not just trying to get through the time frame. Welldone to everyone for showing up and pushing through 👏💪🦋 Thank you Sydney for your greatness and motivation ❤️

    My shoulders felt everything!
    My triceps felt everything!
    Plus it was a cardio burner because I am sweating like I just ran a 400 meter sprint!
    Serving the pizza was so gnarly! It really forces you to control your core and make sure to extend the triceps out all the way. Wow!
