Ive installed these & they are good but, unlike EVO & Indra for example, if theres a problem with a BG charger x amount of months after install & its a manafactuers issue they will not give you a penny for your return site vists of which there will be at least two. Piss poor customer service to the installer BG.......Great vid SOTA
That’s shocking about no payment for warranty work!! Things like that make me stay away from certain brands, I will definitely highlight this with them. And thank you!! 👍👍
Hiya just a thought and not a criticism at all. If there is Type A RCD presence at the EVSE csu and within the charger itself both of 30mA then does that not cause you a selectivity issue when testing and commissioning with regard to RCD testing. Assuming your cable type and installation method does not require RCD protection for the supplying circuit?
Further more on a seperate note maybe i am getting grumpy in my old age(not even that old) but it irks me slightly that aswell as ensuring every install complies with BS7671, DNO equipment considerations, installation notifying (to DNO and for new install), CDM, Health and Safety etc and now we have to also be IT support for EV kit just to get it up and running so we can get paid 🙄.
It's not a selectivity issue like having a DB full of 30mA RCBOs and a 30mA RCD main switch. I install EV chargers full time and we almost always put a 30mA DP RCBO up front mainly because it simplifies installation. Also the RCD in an EV charger is often an electronic device which doesn't meet 61008 standards so there is some debate about whether these are actually compliant.
@@adugo9719 I know I have spoke to a sync EV sales rep about it, they might include it in the future, the cable on the CT is not as long as the one that comes with the zappi so watch out for that. I’m installing a tethered one in a couple of weeks and going to film that one if your interested. Give one a go though, would be good to hear your feedback also! Thanks for watching as well 👍
Whats the customer-facing app like? Can they activate and de activate charging ie lock the charger?
Brilliant video. I will now be looking at the BG on your recomendation now.

A rave from the grave. Look how the van racking has changed. Great.
Thank you sir
Does it require a CT clamp?
Good Afternoon A Dugo, yes it does, I installed a CT clamp with this charger but it is sold separately from the charger.
SOTA electrical thanks for your reply mate, that’s annoying it doesn’t come including, Definitely going to give one a try 👍🏼🚙🔋

@@sotaelectrical i think that CT clamp for dynamic load management is optional thats why they sell them as extra accessories.
@@DerekHundik are you installing these chargers without one then?
👍👍👍👍👍
tidy install 👍
