Big up Jack. Was that a Scotty cameo in disguise, said about as much as usual 😂 Big up to all your subscribers too ❤ but not those naughty viewers that don’t hit those buttons 😂😂 Nice install fella
Nice neat job, we have to wire back to the board where we are, on the odd occasion I put in an outside fuseboard I put a little grey alloy shelf above it to stop water getting behind on sitting on it.
Quick question, I have seen few videos of the install from different engineers and they all have run through the fuse box while your video shows everything done form the outside meter box, so my question is, after watching the full video. I’m also on a new build property where the meter box is on the side of the property and the fuse box is inside the house( basically far away from each other) I am looking to get a ev charger installed but had few engineers who suggested that they need to drill the inside of the house walls to feed the wire from the fuse box. Can it be done straight from the meter box?
Yeah it’s around the live just after meter so everything is going through it If it was fed from 1 fuseboard it would be round the live feeding it so would read everything the same
Thankyou, the board is metal and the setup app for installers is easy, input wifi settings, set perimeters and how you want the charger to behave (app to charge or plug and play) and away you go, the rest of the setup is the customers side
When you said about if another heavy load is used then it limits itself. Do you have to set it up for max mains fuse or anything? Another top vid mate 👌
You set in the app what amp the charger is and what amp the incommer fuse is then the ct talks to it and if there is any more high loads being pulled it will limit the charger Cheers gary
@@JRCElectrical more along the lines of what results to expect and if not getting whats expected, then reasons for bad readings etc, . Quick question jack I've 2x boards in cabin one off peak one daily, can I get a double board to take both peak and off peak ? Cheers 👍

Noice install. Fiddling with electrics in the rain, what could go wrong. 😎 I assume you can set the grid limit within the charger, incase the mains fuse is smaller?
BG can certainly do some nice looking gear. It's a shame they went budget at likes of Screwfix for diyers for some of their stuff. Great video & tidy work.
Yeah there gear is class, looks awesome and I agree about screwfix but at the end of the day it’s the installer who throws them in it’s not the product it’s self that’s the problem
Hi Jack Same sort of question ...as I have a install for charger trunking through garage....as bg charger does have rcd protection built in? Have you put one in ip unit so has a test button to test 6 monthly? Good video thanks 👍
Hi Gary if the cable your installing has mechanical protection ( ie it’s swa or it’s installed in trunking ) then no it doesn’t require an RCD /RCBO but the charger itself should have RCD protection built in or you could use an external device to achieve this for example a Matt E

Ahh okay, reason I'm asking is, I have quoted a few EV Chargers recently, all around the 1k mark but customers seem to only want to pay £20. So frustrating

Anything like that is going to help the product last longer surely, in my eyes tho it’s an IP board so it should be fine 🤞
