Quick question, I have seen few videos of the install from different engineers and they all have run through the fuse box while your video shows everything done form the outside meter box, so my question is, after watching the full video. I’m also on a new build property where the meter box is on the side of the property and the fuse box is inside the house( basically far away from each other) I am looking to get a ev charger installed but had few engineers who suggested that they need to drill the inside of the house walls to feed the wire from the fuse box. Hi Gary if the cable your installing has mechanical protection ( ie it’s swa or it’s installed in trunking ) then no it doesn’t require an RCD /RCBO but the charger itself should have RCD protection built in or you could use an external device to achieve this for example a Matt E
