Quick question for you, Jack, if you don't mind, because obviously I'm botching my shed electrics 😂 I have 3 reels of 4mm singles (correct colour coding etc) which I managed to snag off a scrap man for a tenner a reel (yep, bargain). I'm contemplating selling them on ebay, but if they don't sell in time, can I bury them in flexible conduit to use for the shed installation?

Removed an electric fire and used the existing fused switch to feed 2 double sockets, if I turn on the fused switch while all 4 plugs are turned on my main fuse box trips, tv, skybox, 2x hue, Xbox. Doesn’t trip if Xbox socket is switched off but tv momentarily goes black screen if I turn Xbox on, sparky says I’ve caused a fault on my ring, he wants to rip my wall to bits but that ain’t happening, could a thicker cable help from the fused switch to my 2 new sockets?

I've got a question for you if you don't mind? When quoting a job, be it a full domestic rewire or whatever, and you charge for the 25m, 50m or 100m rolls of needed cable (1.5mm, 2.5mm, 4mm, 6mm, etc etc) - if there's spare cable left over at the end, do you leave it with the customer as they've paid for the reel no matter how much you use in the end, or do you take the spare away? I'm not a sparky, but I've seen mixed approaches. Some left it as essentially it belongs to the client having paid for the reel, and in other cases the spark took the spare away presumably to use on another job. Just curious what the norm is really? Seems like it leaving it would be fair since the client bought it? Dunno tho!

Great video Jack,thoroughly enjoyed that,and good on you showing the proper procedure for the wiring cos as you say diy'rs will do it anyway as youtube is the first place people go to when they want to save money and have a go themselves,when I was a Motor Mechanic and Auto Electrician in 70's and 80's there was no youtube and some of the botched diy jobs I had to correct were downright dangerous,obviously not high voltage but dredded Scotchloc connectors feeding accessories left right and centre causing burnt out wiring looms and vehicle fires, and worst when it was mechanical with failing breaks etc,big up big pal
