I’ve been in the industry for 15 years managing, cooking, bartending, seeving. This is my definition of a true chef. There is a lot going on in that kitchen for a casual place and they’re doing volume. Well done.
Discovered this placed about a year ago by accident while on my way to a Lakers game. Was looking for a “somewhat” fast serving food place for a quick bite, to my surprise this place was plagued with multiple Michelline star awards and the prices were reasonable. This has become my wife’s and my best Mexican seafood spot!!! 😊 🌟 ❤
I remember going in 2019 after the worth it video dropped (they won) and I was in the area so i decided to give it a try. Haven’t stopped going and never miss a birthday there. Without a doubt the best seafood you’ll ever find in Los Angeles.
@@Upsidedownpopsicle no theyre not lol. just because youre broke doesnt mean everyone else. just because you cant afford a house doesnt mean no one else cant lol. the stock market is at all time highs. get some assets lil bub
I went before it got its Michelin star and it was phenomenal the tacos and the ceviche were so fresh and tasty the type of meal you eat with a smile on your face
You probably have but didn't realize it! Lots of sushi is dry aged. Most, if not all the fish in any edomae omakase will be dry aged. And in LA specifically, many popular places dry age fish - Yang's Kitchen and Providence off the top of my head. The Joint in Sherman Oaks is actually a dry aged fish market.
I live in Santa Barbara and I go on business trips n LA twice a month and I always cruise thru that part of town and eat there!! La comida esta muy bueno, A mi me Gusta!!!! I'm a white guy raised here in SB with excellent Mexican American people who are great people and excellent cooks...
Rikku's Godhand has gillionaire, Mimic's in Omega ruins or add ability/stats to armor/accessories and sell them, these are the 2 best ways I found to get loads of gil & I mean millions of gil.

Love how quiet it is in there. Sign of an organised team.

Totally different and nearly $1k but also try providence
Can I just say all the chefs on Bon Appetit are some of the most down to earth, service driven and team-loving people you'll ever meet.
Been going since they opened. Well deserved on the recognition
This is what I call a restaurant business owner, not only his owner, but he’s also a leader, helping out his fellow employees and friends
Holbox is genuinely one of my favorite restaurants in LA. Bravo for the recognition!
I'm not a huge seafood fan but this food is gorgeous. I love this chef's attitude, he seems like a great guy.
With such fair prices, they should be filled to the brim every day.
Put your money where your mouth is
600 person line
Not with this administration. Who can afford anything let alone going out. Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck

Went here twice my last time in LA. Best fish tacos I've ever had. Incredible, affordable, and friendly. Wow.
Love a chef that feeds the team before the rush. Great job!
料理の国境を超えて絶賛して美味しかったです。作る側の気持ちがメッチャ伝わってきました。❤
One of the best episodes I've seen.great job👍👍👍👍
I used to pass Mercado de Paloma every day and had no clue there was a food court in there
Let alone a Michelin starred restaurant. Not rated, but a star is incredible. Never judge a book by its cover 😂
A Michelin star restaurant in a food court 😳 who would have thunk? 🤔🧐
Food looks delicious 🤗
'thunk' is wild
*thunked*
I wanna thunk you
Singapore lol 😜
Well in case you didn't know there is a street food that has a Michelin star LOL.
I just love these series. Need make moreeee
It's legit impressive that they have a Michelin star with those kind of numbers
Quality and expertise. I’ll be eating here soon.
Five minutes in, and I'm learning how to properly store fish for cooking. Thanks!!!!
Wow, I'd love to try this tasting menu. I'm far away now but will remember this.
Another restaurant to add to my travel list. Very nice!
This guys love and passion for the food and what he does makes him more than deserving of that Michelin star
Been here multiple times and also before their Michelin star. Always a phenomenal meal every time. Staff is super nice as well.
Highly recommend
I went before it got its Michelin star and it was phenomenal the tacos and the ceviche were so fresh and tasty the type of meal you eat with a smile on your face
Amazing to be turning out food of that quality at that price point
Went when Holbox was featured on Worth It and was great. So glad they continued to be great and earned their star! Congrats!
Holbox is AMAZING love eating here!!! worth visiting for sure
I’ve been eating there for years. Since they open the Itza restaurant.
Everyone should try the different restaurants in the food court.
Thanks for sharing this-!! The next time I am around the area, I will try it-!!😉
This place looks fantastic. Love the care taken regarding the food.
Simply amazing!!!
Great energy!
special shoutout to the scallop taco, top 3 best i’ve ever had !!
Chef seems like a cool guy ✅
This is inspired cooking! Amazing
This look amazing
Love this video
Ate here twice in the summer of 2024. Absolutely worth the effort to visit.
Shoutout to Holbox. Amazing food
Dry aged fish. I haven’t seen that before and that urchin looks great

Congratulations on your success!
Yummy can wait to go eat some food.
i actually want to try this food. The octopus taco=yum
Nice one please continue
Cooking = science. Love it. 😍
The best tacos in the US full stop. You can taste their passion.
How do you prep constantly for that🤔😮 even with a separate prep team potentially 😮
😊
Another chef that could have his own TV series...
And I don't even like seafood that much
Mercado la Paloma is so interesting and yummy! Unfortunately I only go there if I need to go to the DMV. Now I need another excuse!
He's a great boss

I nominate him and his crew for training the chefs for the US school lunch program.
What chefs 🤨
@@VB-fo1oc Those who prepare food for school lunch programs.
@@stuarthdoblin I understand that but there are no chefs in most schools
I've eaten here. It's worth the hype.
Din Tai Fung is pretty cheap (I guess it's their Hong Kong Branch w the star) but the LA branch seems identical to me.
I need to get there!
Beautiful food ✨
I uave eaten here and it's awesome. I think he used to sous at Demian
One of his sous chefs did, she just opened her own spot called Komal at the Mercado La Paloma.
What about the duck restaurant in Taiwan that was covered by A Great Big Story? That's still $1.50 no?
by USC, of course. where else will a Mexican food court find that kind of dough. I used to eat there a lot and this wasnt there so must be new.
Great food at reasonable prices. I hate fine dining!
I’ll have to eat here
Just went first time: best ceviche all time
I missed my days at USC
Michelin Star makes this restaurant famous.
what's the brand of the lump charcoal?
Holbox is the truth!
The best of the best --
santa maria style
probably the only place on this channel that I've been to XD
Great video but i must say.. cooking is why i cook
👍
I’ll have one of everything 😂
Blue fin tuna is about to go extinct
Address? And what do i order for the Michelin meal? Being serious. lol
Dry aging is one of the best things since slice bread.
5:03 i should call her
Drive by here all the time. Im stopping next time solid......
I will never ever pay over 2 dollars for a taco
I kind of want to try sea urchins now 🤔

So i have to pay premium to taste this dying species :(
They are so small compared to what I remember in the sixties and seventies.... they are being farmed these days also.
There’s an Abalone farm in Santa Barbera, wild Abalone is much larger
That's in NorCal. HolBox and Santa Barbara both SoCal. Also, I believe these are farmed ablone.
Abalone is highly regulated and those served in a restaurant are farmed, not wild.
he was on triple d
👏👏👏
Place is STUPID FIRE
LOVE this! 👏 awesome! ✨✨🐟 🐙 🐠 🦞 🦐✨✨🔥
What's the story in the hot kitchen above the grill with this skillet with the bent handle?
lol blister is such an un appetizing word
Michelin has become a joke. Not knocking this place in the slightest.
Abalone Mole?!
