Love it. Hey Mike. You were our savior during the pandemic. Other than the chaos and loss happening around us, I discovered your cooking channels and it made seclusion bearable.
All of these places are cheaper than the fastfood chains. No wonder the chains are closing down. You get a much better, larger and often, healthier meal for cheaper. Good going!
For everyone complaining about Mike only featuring expensive meals and buffets on this channel, are you happy now? For the record, he's always mixed cheap eats with the pricier stuff so I've never understood the complaints anyways.
For me, a peasant, I actually prefer the buffets and luxurious meal videos. Why? Because I definitely can't afford them. So I watch how they look in videos like this lol. Cheap street foods are okay too. But they are less interesting for me.
Honestly I'd rather Mike just do what he wants. People will always complain. I come here to enjoy his reactions, the good vibes, and to see the kind of food that's out there
The first two places are LA Metro accessible. They are within easy walking distance from the Metro D line subway station on Western and Wilshire. There is also a Villas Tacos at Grand Central Market, which is only two blocks from the LA Metro Historic Broadway station.
Next time you’re back in town, you have to try La Azteca Tortilleria’s Chile relleno burrito with Chicarron - the gooey cheese pull combined with the crunch of the chicharon is almost orgasmic
The Chiayi chicken rice is traditionally made with turkey, they cook the skin down and drizzle the oil over the meat, it’s so good 😂 that Lu-Rou-Fan looks amazing, have to give Liu’s cafe a try for sure. Another really good place for Taiwanese food is Golden Leaf in Temple City.
Some people are commenting on the pinkish color of the chicken. The color of the meat isn’t always an indicator of it being raw or undercooked. The types of chicken used as well as the marinades can keep that color on the pinkish side. You can choose to not eat there but to call it undercooked is false. It’s the same with smoked meats. Also this is a Michelin star food video. They’re not getting their star because they’re consistently serving undercooked food. On a side note I love La Azteca and their Chile Relleno Burrito is the best.
yes! At my work (i waitress at an elderly home) the chicken is sometimes the tiniest bit pink and it’s not cause it’s undercooked! If that was the reason, all the 75+ elderly people eating it would be very sick
When Michelin star’s original started it was all about the tasty food and not about how pricey etc it was. These are bib gourmand which is extremely tasty food for decent prices not exactly a Michelin star but some of the best food for the price.
Thanks for your videos but you skip through the name so quick and it's not clear...I know you write ithe info but it would be nice if you actually show the storefront with the name first in full.. like holbox I had to go back to look at the name several times and it's hard to see the names most of the times of the restaurants
Next time you're in LA, check out Rowland Heights. Its where middle to upper class Asian folks move to escape the bustle of LA, and there are some truly amazing Asian restaurants out here
It’s funny but when i think of the mercado la paloma i think chichen itza for chinita pibil. As far as Hatz, the tanginess could also be chavel or as i know it sorrel. :)
Holbox!! I went there 2 months ago and i still DREAM about that place. We had it twice on our trip. You should've tried the ceviche mixto. So fresh so clean.
I want him to go to town at Burma Superstar and some of the Vietnamese places that do the 7 courses of beef. Plus the the awesome Italian deli shops. Oh and Ethiopian! 😋
God Bless America! It's people like Mike that reminds Gen X what it's always been about, but also shows Gen Z what they've been missing all this time. Tik Tok's Algorithm says, "no likey!!!"
At the 2nd stop where they did the Roasted Chicken. You are supposed to mix the green and the yellow sauces they have together for an added flavor that just takes everything to the next level.
To be fair with "under $10," most are for an item like a taco which won't fill you up like a full meal. That said, even if you got three tacos for example, it's under $20 which is still a solid deal for top quality food. The other places don't break you bank either, but you're likely paying closer to $20 for an entire meal over just one thing like a couple pieces of chicken.
It's not that cheap, but the quality is high. I have a place near me that has cheap food, it's called Wonderdog, it is in East Peoria Illinois and they are known for their $3.29 chili dogs. But they also have a daily $8.00 special, on Tuesday it's the Tenderloin. You get an 8 inch round Tenderloin, fries or tots, and a drink for $8.00, now that is a deal, and it's pretty good too.
@@pandersonnike When I want Tacos I just make them myself, for about 50 cents each, so 2 for a dollar. And they are the way I like them, with a lot of meat, a lot of cheese, a lot of tomatoes, and just a little lettuce, with my favorite Taco sauce, Ortega hot Taco sauce.
I’m so sorry I couldn’t catch the name of most places. I tried going back and forth to listen and type in Yelp but still can’t put the right word. Could somebody help writing all the list down? Pretty please.

$13 FOR TWO TACOS?? That's not cost effective from a taco standpoint. Nor from a seafood standpoint! Not in L.A. anyway. Do you know the quantity of delicious ceviche you can in L.A. for that price? instead of one tiny piece in a small taco like tthat??? Ugh.
I think you're missing the point of the video. This video is about showcasing michelin star food that's cheap. You can find a taco place that is more cost effective, that's not an argument here. However, that's not even what's the video is about. Mike has done videos of taco in LA that's more cost effective, so you can watch those videos if you want. You're trying to argue one thing when the topic is complete different.
@@12345sdot that's not including the fact that the one shown in this video is brick and mortar establishment as well. So, compared to a taco stand or a taco food van, it's going to be more expensive

Couldn’t agree more! 🍴
Didnt even know about Liu's cafe and i drive by there all the time...know where im going for lunch tomorrow...
Luyu Dumplings is right next to my house. I love their dumplings so much that I walk there to buy their frozen dumpling twice a week lol
I would do the same if it was near my apartment. I love love love Dumplings and Dim Sum.

i had the first dish and oh boy i can tell u its delicious
La Azteca is definitely a great local secret.. well, not really a secret anymore! lol 😄
Not many videos can make me crave eating it but for these Tacos Ill fly to get them.
The Armenian wrap was very interesting 😅

God, I miss LA Burrito. Nice owning a house, but I'd really rather have a huge burrito right now ...
Why you eat rice with a fork?
Only the Chinese place and the burrito were actually cheap imo. Others were average/above average in cost, no?

mike it's los?
How do people eat this amount of food? Do they vomit it all up later?
