Peruvian food is absolutely delicious. First time I had it is when i moved to the Bay Area and it took me by surprise. In my book, one of the top 10 cuisines in the world.
Pro tip, huacatay grows extremely easily. My aunt planted one in her garden like 10 years ago and is still going strong. I love to smell the plant when I go see her
Depending on your location in NY, you can find it. I’ve found it frozen in Latino supermarkets in lower NY. The city definitely has it as well. And like someone commented here it does grow easily. My family had a few that they planted years ago and it grew like crazy. 😅

Oh! but you will see food like that and better... Peru won for best restaurant in the world a year ago and also has a couple more in the best 50 restaurants in the world. Those are the very upscale restaurants. To me the Treasure of Peruvian cuisine is the Cultural Flavors in everyday restaurants.

As a miami local - this is one of the best places to come. Ambiance, service, decor, food. Every penny is worth it.
