His passion is so infectious and he is so excited about what he’s doing, and that’s what makes him so passionate. He’s so adorable and congratulations to him and his husband.
I can hear his enthusiasm, passion, humor, and humility through and through. Us Vietnamese kids grow up with nostalgia, street food (and quán nhậu) culture, and the immigrant dream. Chef Tam made it with love, care, and passion. His restaurant is an outstanding example of the American dream. Thank you Bon Appetit for this documentary.
Love Bon Appetit highlighting the Miami food scene recently. Another dope fact about Tam Tam, they have a karaoke setup in one of the bathrooms. They've definitely curated a fun environment along with their amazing menu.
I love that he is so intentional with where he gets his ingredients, it’s shows how much he cares about the food. Also that he puts his own spin on some of the menu items but still has traditional Vietnamese dishes. As someone that’s half Vietnamese and white passing, I’m used to having to ask for fish sauce at some Vietnamese restaurants because they assume I wouldn’t like it so it brings me joy that he isn’t afraid to use these ingredients that are so key to the dishes and introducing people to new amazing flavors
Went here in March and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had! The scallops and betel leaf lamb were incredible. I’m sure it’s going to be one of the hardest reservations to get in Miami soon.
I love all the videos like this that BA puts out, but this one is hands down my favourite. Tam has such warmness and wisdom that radiates throughout the video. I hope to be able to eat here one day !!!!
As a chef and a total foodie nerd I gobble up these new releases so quickly. Really stellar job. I love how real and genuine this series is. In an ocean of fluff, these are gems. Just a day in the life of a cook, with stories and history interwoven into it. Beautiful ♥️
Went to Miami for the first time back in 2018 and didn't recall people being too friendly to my kind (Vietnamese)... hopefully with the (positive) way social media has influenced people and created exposure to folks they aren't familiar with/interact with on a consistent/regular basis, perhaps, my next go round in So Flo. with be a tad more savory. Kudos to Tam and his culinary operation... show them south easterners we're not so bad of a peoples.
My favorite restaurant ! They do such an amazing job! Couldn't be happier than I am for them shing so bright! They do an amazing job and deserve all the recognition they are receiving! Also the staff is just wonderful! XOX
i'm really into food and cuisine things, and wish to open a dream restaurant like this. as a vietnamese and a person that has the same passion for food, you really make me so proud of vietnamese people. 😍
I loved every single part of this and I am so proud of head chef saying that the food needs to taste Vietnamese uncompromisingly 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I can’t wait to try one day!
Ahhhh, yes betel leaf wrapped lamb is always the go to for every viet party. Maybe one day lẫu dê might feature on their menu, too! If it hasn’t already 🤤
Ok I actually laughed out loud when he said you know it’s actually a Vietnamese store when half the store is nail supplies 😫😫🤣🤣 I’d love to try his food, 🤩
omg im learning about food im not familiar with. im learning technique. im also loving all the meats and courses. his ingredients are high quality for a diner kitchen! i must go!
The fermentation was more because of the hot and humid weather easily spoiling the food rather than poverty. Vietnam may not be a developed country but it has never been a poor third-world country.
"You know it's Vietnamese when the other half sells nail supply."
This had me cracking up because it's so true! 💯 😂
Didn’t know that.
goats the cheapest cut why is it like 47 bucks... dang dude
Proud of my Vietnamese brothers and sisters making it in America
😢😢😢😢😢
Amen 🇻🇳

As a first generation Vietnamese Canadian, and former Chef, this was so enjoyable to watch. Happy for Tam and Tam TAm.

This guy is living the dream! He started a restaurant mainly using RUclips videos!

Vietnam being a humid place also contributing to the taste of preserving food, since fresh food do not store long in the environment.
Đúng rồi. Ở Việt Nam rất nóng và ẩm.
Hands down the best Viet spot in Miami! So glad the owner brought his passion for food and his Viet heritage to life 😊
My favorite part was that last photo of the team
