- Scene of The Mentalist season 4 episode 10 "FUGUE IN RED". AAAAAH THIS SCENE! Ahhh at every single scene that involved Jane and Lisbon in this episode! My shipper heart is about to explode XD Lisbon reaction was priceless...but you can see that she didn't say anything when he said "we're working toward it". OMG! Well, it's not a secret...THEY'RE WORKING TOWARD IT!!!! JESUS, I just can't XD I need a moment. Oh, and Jane calling her "Teresa"... gasp My heart missed a beat everytime he pronounce it.

i think my favourite part of this whole interlude is when jane says "but we're working toward it, right?" and Lisbon looks to the side but does not deny it in any way, shape, or form lol

MY GOD SO CUTE
This was basically how Jane would be with Lisbon if all the RJ stuff was out of the picture. In other words, we saw a glimpse of his real attraction to her, the part of him he has buried really deep inside. Hence him grabbing her ass later on the same episode. She challenges him. And yes, they would be working toward it if it weren't for his revenge. Anyway, thank God they're canon now.

'No, we are not sleeping together.'
'Oh okay, but we're working towards it right? So I haven't missed anything.'
They ARE sleeping together now, thank god.. I had been waiting for it since season 1

Incredible glimpse of what Jane was like before Red John. The Jane we know denounces psychics and while still mischievous he's more compassionate. Old Jane would never go out of his way to help people, everyone's a mark.
It was so sad at the end of this episode when she helps Jane remember. I felt sorry for him 'having' to remember. He may have gone back to his charlatan days, but at least he had a kind of peace like that.
I agree but he would have never forgiven Lisbon if she let him go. She is his only friend.
I love all of Lisbon's reactions to what he says!!
THIS SCENE. Just... So many things. It's so cute how Lisbon is really warm and tender towards him, and to be honest, I can see why Jane comes to the conclusion they are a couple. :) But then after he asks if they are sleeping together, she closes off. :( It's still really funny though.
"No... We are not... Sleeping... Together." I love her hesitant pauses when she is saying that! Hahaha. And her smile when she says 'Are you putting me on?' :b
No matter how many times I watch this scene, I almost die every time. Her face is priceless... Does anyone else REALLY want to see the behind the scenes of this?! Robin and Simon must have found it hilarious. :L
OMG when he says "we're working toward it" makes me thing that if Lisbon isn´t thinking about falling for Jane at least we know Jane want´s to be with her!!!

Loved this episode, was full of cute jisbon moments. I kinda liked Jane like that, just temporarily tho, cos he was so full on with Lisbon. He was also an ass, but wouldn't have minded maybe 1 more ep with him like that, if only for us Jisbon fans!

You could throw me in female prison, surround me with the meanest people in maximum security Orange is the New Black style, and as long as I got to listen to Simon Baker's voice in my ears saying ANYTHING, I would happily live there for the rest of my days. His voice is soooo ASMR whether he's using his American accent, his Aussie accent, or his half-terrible southwestern cowboy accent. Simon Baker have my babies.
Plus let’s not forget the way he says her first name with a ‘z’ instead of an ‘s’. That episode where he blatantly hits on her because of his amnesia is one of my favorites.

He’s not a womanizer which means philander. Definitely not a word that describes Patrick Jane at all. The word you’re looking for is FLIRT. He’s flirting and hitting on her as well as putting the moves on her.
His character Nick Fallin on the guardian is the womanizer.

I really LOVE when he asks her if they sleep together and EVERYTHING he implies in those words and the fact that she doesn't deny when he says they're on their way haha 😍🙏💖🔥🔥 BUT, the moment where he tells Lisbon about her mom is. .. amazing, gives me chills! as he recounts that he saw the light and that, he is like in a trance when he mentions those words to him, with all security and seriousness .. it was genuine! Lisbon never mentioned to her that her mother had given her that cross so how did Jane know? that and, she was praying to her cross asking for her life while he was being resurrected so it is IMPOSSIBLE that Jane knew about that at that moment since she was unconscious, plus everyone who was close to dying experienced seeing the light white, is a fact linked to the spiritual but it is also scientifically proven why it happens. I swear I was always very captivated by this scene! 🤯😭😭

She becomes aware of her attachment to him without admitting that she loves him. She doesn't want to admit it.
She was so scared and we can see her emotion. At that moment we understand.
That's why she goes to see him right away, why she's close to him. It's more than friendship.
Patrick feels his attraction hence his question!
I think at this moment he likes her but doesn't love her.
Hence the other question!!
He plays with her.
For 3 reasons
The first time he drags Van Pelt
The 2nd he puts his hand on her butt because he feels her attraction and enjoys it
The 3rd he doesn't hesitate to leave with another woman and it's Teresa who brings him back to reality.
So at this moment HE knows and that's why in season 6 he is "lost"...until he confesses

A lot of takes of this scene.
First, Jane obviously after a traumatic event, his mind protected itself of his reality, & painful memories. His defense mechanism of selective memories is a way to escape of the 2nd time traumatic event.
Avoiding pain is what made him less vunurable.
2. He obviously is attracted to Lisbon, but he obviously tried to push those thoughts away, because he is scare, is more about avoiding emotional pain.
3. Lisbon seems conflicted. She seems disappointing that he doesn't remember her. They had a friendship relationship at this point, is normal reaction to feel concerned.
I wouldn't draw to a conclusion that they are in love with each other at this point, but that the attraction is there. And depends how Jane can overcome his fear of pain and Lisbon can trust him and understand her own emotions, that maybe will be a room for them to be in a committed relationship.
He was in love with her by season 2 at the latest, calling out "I love you" at the rehab even if half in jest, and saying Bosco was in love with her, "how could he not". Lisbon was a lot later but by s3 a suspect's relative called Jane Lisbon's man ("Could you please control your man?") and she didn't bat an eye. You missed a lot of stuff. There's a video someone posted by CHARLATANJANE called a Jisbon scene from every episode, by each season you might want to take a look at.
Edit: The episodes before this, they shared ice cream out of the same glass on a rooftop. When was the last time you did that?

He joined the CBI because of what didn't happen with Red John. The fact is that Jane's archenemy is Red John and viseversa. Jane joined the CBI not just to consult but to find out who Red John really is.

I don't follow you. What didn't happen with Red John???I'm aware of his reason for joining the CBI, to get closer to the Red John case information. His consulting is the trade-off and justification for being there (and also his amusement!).

Watch the show. It's one of the best ever.
I hated this episode, because Patrick was depicted way too unscrupulous. He is behaving like an as*hole to his friends. There is one episode with flashbacks, where he splits up with his father because he didn't want to take money fraudulently from a dying girl. Also, he was even helping to the police when he provoked Red John in a TV show. So, this episode is kinda breaking the character, because Patrick was generally good person even before Red John killed his family.
No. Deep down he is a good person but the conman personality overtook him and that's what was on display here. evolution of Jane and his lifestyle before marrying Angela. And it also highlights how loyal he was to his wife even though he was basically a conman with playboy attributes before marriage. That's why only Lisbon understood him in this episode. She kept defending him and told others "that's not him". Its a mask and only Lisbon can see through it mostly.
He was helping police catch Red John because he wanted publicity and fame came through it. And he never felt guilt about conning his friends at the CBI was because his father taught him "Guilt is for Marks". And Jane was never a mark.
Toya IAmWe true.. like the wolf of Wallstreet and Jordan Belfort, basically conning the rich that can afford it because that's more guilt free money than from sick or disadvantaged.

Jane has been in love with his wife ever since he was a teenager. But in this episode he isn't in love with anyone. It seems natural that he would be a disrespectful playboy if he wasn't attached to anyone.
