  • Green Goddess dressing has been on our list to recreate as an oil-free dressing for over a year and seeing it trending as a Green Goddess Tiktok Salad brought it back to the top of my list. The original dressing using various animal products to create the popular flavor so it has taken quite a bit of experimenting to get this just right. I think I finally have it nailed and this salad and dressing recipe is our new favorite. Eating salad every day is essential to a Plant Based Vegan diet, even in the winter. I hope this refreshing salad full of green magic will be one way for you to get your greens in!

    I'm asian and I'm still surprised that Americans use so much oil to make their salad dressing.
    Where I live we make salad dressing like this, with shallow fried cashews, brown sugar blocks and some water.
    We usually make them into thick paste and process them until thick enough to be form into a block like the brown sugar blocks.
    Then it can be refridgerated or stored in room temp for a long time.
    When You wanna use it, Just take a cut from that block, add tiny tiny warm water to disolve them

    You nailed this, the dressing was so good. I added an avocado for creaminess. And, topped with Trader Joe’s Green Goddess seasoning. Thank you Jill!

    So glad you're around getting the oil out - swear everyone obsessed about oil!

    • @amyahdocq8835
      @amyahdocq8835 2 года назад +3

      Well, we need some "oil" in our food intake... good oils in small quantities... the problem with oil is that people are eating wayyyyy too much of it. We need our Omega 3 and 9 and some 6... but in small quantities... and of course... no cooking with oil.

    • @tonibartling3844
      @tonibartling3844 2 года назад +3

      Oil in whole foods - nuts seeds avocados etc. But oil is highly processed and inflammatory.

    • @amyahdocq8835
      @amyahdocq8835 2 года назад +2

      @@tonibartling3844 Depending which kind of oil you are taking and also which "school" of WFD you are following, some people are more strict. Oil from the shelves, yes... but not the raw unprocessed extra virgin oils. Of course there is some manipulations to be pressed slowly between the 2 stones, but that's it. I have the blessing to be able to access those oils and use them with parcimony. Now, this said, I understand your comment as usually people buy their oils from the supermarket and this oil is not ~ most of the time ~ pure unprocessed oil... which is sad! There are raw oils that are rather very good for health that we should consume in small quantities like flax oil, UDO oil, etc... but there again, because they are raw, we have to be careful to consume them before they go rancid which render them kind of "toxic". But finally, what I say to my clients is, the most important thing it to start eating more whole food and the taste will come and suddenly, you'll have no taste anymore for meat & junk food. Everybody at his own pace. And, like everything in life, small quantity of oils might be not good for some people and good for others... everything have to be personal and in small quantities.

      I went to a pub once, and they had this Green Goddess sauce... soooooo good BUT (of course there is a but...) I didn't digest it, huge cramps in my tummy. Next time I went, I asked the chef... and there was milk/cream and canola oil in it 😔 and I am allergic to milk products & canola oil don't agree with my stomach so... now I am very excited to be able to have this WONDERFUL sauce and digest it!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 💜
