I wish i could have seen them play. I was only 10 when "The Shape of..." was released. One of the best bands there has ever been. This truly was the shape of punk to come.
When the shape of punk to come came out it was meet porly, then everybody loved it and every band tried so hard to be refused. they probably inspired all the metalcore bands of today. Fuck yeah västerbotten. We got Cult of luna too.
The 90s had some great frontmen look at at the drive in and refused great men now days the closed thing we have is pink eyes from fucked up and he is amazing
yeah i know but it's because it wasn't really a real hardcore show, it was for a very big annual radio-festival with all kinds of bands and very.. strict if you want it. You see the guy being pushed off the stage immidiatley. I was there :)
Bring on groezrock!! So many bands have ripped them off (including my band to be fair). I genuinely think in some country's they would have been sentenced for witchcraft for how accurate the statement "the shape of punk to come" went on to be.
And what "settled down nation" do you speak of? Surely not the U.S. I don't think the millions of dead from its imperialism can say that it's a less corrupt/less blood shedding system.
Refused is one of my favorite bands, but in all honesty, I completely disagree with their political and philosophical view points. It's definately alot of marxist thoughts, calling capitalism "organized crime" and etc. Good music though, good band, refused are fucking dead.
