    I love sE Electronics V7, it's really easy to set in the mix microphone

      I agree! Especially for the price point it’s tough to beat!

    I personally the rejection level of the sE v7, the ksm9 and the Beta87a is really good. Also, the proximity effect especially for the ksm9 is outstanding

    That sE is ridiculously good especially for the price.

    • @WorshipSoundGuy

      It really is! Definitely the most bang for the buck in my opinion.

    I ran with all SM86 for a while. Added an v7 for fun. Biggest benefit was feedback rejection, less cymbal bleed and not as sensitive to cupping. I also really like the Telefunken M81.

    I use a V7 with my Sennheiser. For the price it can't be beat

    I’ve got Sennheiser g4 with 965 capsules. I changed them to se v7 m2 capsules and what a game changer. Unbelievable capsules.

    could you do also a shootout with sennheiser capsules? like the 935,945, 445, 435, 965, kk205...and so on?
    thanks simon

    Can we talk about the huge difference in quality from the HW SM57 to any of the caps on the ULXD? Should do a shoot out of QLXD, ULXD & AD.

    • @WorshipSoundGuy
      @WorshipSoundGuy  2 года назад

      We’ll definitely have to do that! I’d be curious to hear Axient wireless as well to see if there’s a real difference in sound quality.

    • @ryansartell161
      @ryansartell161 2 года назад +3

      @@WorshipSoundGuy My personal opinion (And an unpopular one) is that QLXD, ULXD handhelds sound very compressed but the BP are ok. AD sounds close to a HW. As a big RF guy, I love coordinating digital when possible. I personally recommend Sennheiser for clients / users looking for wireless and don't have budget for AD.
      I'll also say I get many phone calls / emails about the antenna diversity on Q/ULXD.

    One thing worth noting, is how the pickup and isolation (of each capsule) react on a live stage compared to a smaller room. If it’s anything similar to the differences between a shotgun microphone in a wet room, compared to outdoor open sky, I’d contend this shootout is worth considering on indoor and outdoor stages. Great video regardless!

    • @WorshipSoundGuy
      @WorshipSoundGuy  2 года назад +1

      For sure! It’ll definitely change in a larger space. In my experience, a lot of what you’re hearing in these demos does translate similarly though, especially when it comes to the tone and volume of the bleed. The rejection/pickup area will definitely be different with a different space though.

    Ksm9 sounds really good but might be a problem for loud stages

    • @WorshipSoundGuy
      @WorshipSoundGuy  2 года назад +2

      Yep! We actually use a fair amount of KSM9’s at my home church and stage noise always has to be a consideration when we use them.
      We also use the sE Electronics V7 and those tend to be a lot more manageable on loud stages, but it doesn’t sound quite as good as the KSM9.

      We use KSM8s with ULX-D and they sound great on both skilled and not-so-skilled users.

    • @djacris

      We have a KSM9, two KSM8’s and two Beta58’s on our stage each Sunday with Live drums behind a shield. BY FAR the KSM9 has the best rejection of stage noise. I almost can’t use the Beta58 that is closest to the drums.

    • @WorshipSoundGuy
      @WorshipSoundGuy  2 года назад +2

      Yeah the KSM9’s in hyper-cardioid do really well… as long as the vocalist keeps their head in front of the capsule haha. If they move and it points across the stage at drums or something it can definitely pick up a good bit of noise. But yeah, for off axis rejection, I’m a big fan of anything with a hyper-cardioid pattern.

    Holy shit where has this video been for the last 3 years!! Thanks so much. This is incredibly helpful. The dfacto does incredibly well, I could barely hear the drums when you moved away. I didn’t know the ksm8 was so bad 😅.

      Also I did wear AirPods and still could hear a significant difference.

    One of the things we did not know was - what the transmitter and the receiver for this wireless setup. cos all of them sound like crap, and makes me wonder - is this a function of the compander of this transmitter/receiver wireless pairing. It would have been interesting to hear the wired versions of these microphones, to appreciate how much quality loss the wireless transmission is responsible for.

    • @WorshipSoundGuy
      @WorshipSoundGuy  Год назад +1

      That's a great question, I do agree there's definitely something lost in the wireless transmission but I do think it's gotten better with technology like Shure's Axient lineup. Hopefully it'll continue to improve!

      I agree, the KSM9 just sounds so good... if your stage can handle it haha.

    They ALL sound muffled and dull compared to the hard wired sm57 via my senheiser HD280 PRO PHONES. Electrons passing through wires win over Radio freq. Mics.

    • @WorshipSoundGuy
      @WorshipSoundGuy  2 года назад +2

      Wireless mics are an inherent compromise of convenience vs sound quality. When you start moving in to higher end systems like Shure’s Axient series it’s definitely a bit better, but with most current tech, there’s definitely a balance that has to be considered of convenience vs fully pristine audio quality.

    I was stunned as to how well the Beta 87a rejected the drums with it being a condenser. I thought that even with it tighter pickup, with it still be a condenser, the drums would have been a mess inside the mic’s pickup; but it wasn’t. Can anyone explain this?? I had always ignored using the 87a on loud stages, with what I just heard; should the 87a be reconsidered in a loud stage?
