I liked the V7 for a bit more brightness on the vocals without being to “bright or brittle” on the high end. That Neumann capsule though has a nice midrange and “warmth” to it. Sounded fuller in the mix for vocals.
Nice song, The 435 was my favorite too. The Nuemann sounded super squished to me. I have the original EWD1 released 7 years ago. It came with the 835 capsule (which I didn't like). I immediately purchased the e965 which was almost 500 dollars at the time. It was worth the investment.
Great video, personally couldn't hear tons of difference in the vocal takes although I did pick up on the quite digital sounding top frequencies on the neumann. Am I right in saying Matt Bellamy uses Neumann? Also I'm using an xsw-2 835 system, are these capsule interchangeable and where can i find the charts on Sennheisers website 😊
Dammit. How come my favorite ones always end up being the most expensive 😠 lol that MM435 is my favorite for sure it sounds like what I expect to hear. Like it would take very light EQing to get it where I want it. As it is now I use the MMD845 which is the same as the 835 with the super cardioid pattern and it's just too dull for me. I can get a good sound out of it but it takes some really heavy EQ and rolling up that High Pass REALLY high, like 220hz. It's possible that it's just old though, I've been using nearly every weekend for idek how long at this point. Close to 10 years. That's why I'm in the market for a new capsule!
Thank you for the comparison. I've been using my Neumann KMS 105 mic with a XVive U3 plug on wireless transmitter and I need something stronger. Really hate being on a 2.5ghz wifi system and the range sucks. (I can't go more than 25 feet from the stage before it loses it's signal, and other wireless wifi systems on stage fight with it).
hello, thanks for the video- on the sennhieser receiver, what did you have the gain and AF put set to? I currently have the standard e835 capsule but speakers literally have to keep it right up to their mouth... The drop off at even 3 inches almost produces no sound
I didn't even know the V7 existed, I was today years old etc… I've been using an MM445 'cos I voice ultra-processed electronic music, but I might just cop a V7 as a 'back-up' of sorts. That Neumann is _delectable,_ but it makes no practical sense in the sort of high-volume environments I spend time in.
When I was homerecording, i U"sed to Neumann u87ai ... Would you recoomend your think, When I Home Recoring And Live Busking May I cHange senneiser Ew-d System How do you Think
Great content! I guess i know the answer already but...Are those capsules specifically designed for the EW lines, or for example, i can use my e935 XLR mic's capsule and mount it over the wireless EW mic?
I think most of them are cross compatible except the Neumann which needs a powered line. There’s a chart somewhere on the sennheiser website which says which ones work where
835 is not even for singers :D You better go and read some info. It's for a different purpose. Your voice sound here like someone would do a V curve on a EQ :D the senn wireless is awesome got the ew500 G3 but the capsules are not what you'd want for live. Compressed they are and lack of dynamic.Far better option is the adapter ring and a beta58 capsule on the Senn body! ;D
What are you talking about? Sennheiser’s website lists the e835 specifically as “live vocal microphone”. It’s for singers, at least that’s how it’s sold.
@@adamsteelproducer and tic-tac is also sugar free, ask some live soundguys what is 835 good for?! Handling noise problems, lifeless, no mids, harsh....
The Neumann sounded amazing! Like…on the vocals truly incredible.

From what I hear the KK205 sounds like more "professional" like more processed. Thanks for sharing.

965s sound great, also never liked the 835 sound
V7 wired and RF have become as popular as sm58s on tours
435 for my choice, cheers from New Zealand
Damn, I want that Neumann now.
Dude you sounded great and this was a fantastic review. Great job! 🎉
Hey, that was the best video I watched about Sennheiser capsules! What's your experience with the e945 capsule?
Great video, very informative and excellent timing as i’m about to upgrade my gear
KK205 sounds smooth. Not too bright, nice and warm. Makes sense that you'd want to match to a persons voice.
I use the V7 and it is simply amazing. Especially for the price!
i didnt like it at all
@@Theisabelzu it’s not for everyone. To me for the price, can’t beat it.
Thanks, bro. Great review, cool video. Very useful information. I liked neumann the most.
What is the handle part of the microphone called? And can it be purchased alone?
Neumann sounds pro, V7 pleasantly surprised me. 435 slight disappointment, sounded a bit thin and shrilly

I replaced the Sennheiser 865 condensor capsule on my EW100G4 with the SE V7. The Neumann sounds great but my voice already has a mid bump in it.

would love a comparison of the dpa capsule also

Yeah that sounds rough. The EW-D units are now on the Monuments tour, and haven’t dropped out once on huge stages and in really busy RF traffic zones
Can you tell me what exact Sennheiser mic I need to get to attach with the V7
Is the sennheiser XS-1 system able to swap capsule heads?
hello, thanks for the video- on the sennhieser receiver, what did you have the gain and AF put set to? I currently have the standard e835 capsule but speakers literally have to keep it right up to their mouth... The drop off at even 3 inches almost produces no sound
It comes out at mic level, you’re supposed to plug it into a mic input and add more gain as needed like a wired mic
Dang that MM435 cuts so nice tru the mix
Hello.. I have Sennheiser EW 500 G3 with e935 head.. is it compatible if I change into Neumann KK205 head ? Would like to know your answer 🙏 Thank you
Not

Can I get a SEV7 for my Shure QLXD Transmitter? Or do I have to use Shure capsules?
Yes, just search Se V7 for Shure Sistem, it is difrent Fit ón Senheiser but same capsule.
It’s the V7 m1 is for shure mics and the v7 m2 is for sennheiser
Hello, I have an EW-D microphone and I am between buying the Neumann KK205 or the MM445 capsule, which will be better for a tenor and live music?
Which one did you get?
Thanks for the video

It's for the wireless lines only. And the KK205 is compatible only with the EW500 G4 and the new EWD series.
@@IagoVital and also for Sennheiser 6000 and 9000 series
Consigo usar uma capsula de um 945 em um bastão 835 ?
Se for o sem fio sim porque tecnicamente o bastão é intermutável. Com fio não.
If only Sennheiser capsules fitted the Shure transmitters as I only have the Shure model and cannot afford the Sennheiser systems 🙄🙄🙄
You can get a adapter for them
@@JonathanMartinez-qn2ktOk thanks that's interesting
i cant open my mic, what should i do? it seems stuck.
If it’s one of these models, twist harder
Adele actually using MD 9235 by Sennheiser. And she is using 9000 digital systems
Ok well that’s changed then, but she was definitely using a Neumann for an extended period
@@adamsteelproducer ohhh may I know which show or period?
Are you sure it's not the DPA D:Facto as these are now very well spread and look very much like the Sennheiser capsules?
Mm435 damn🎉
Kk205 ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Nothing like a fresh diaphragm to dazzle up ya dynamics …. Wait what?
