Do you use any digital wireless systems? If so, what are your thoughts?

I am glad you said Intermodulation. I used to call it harmonics when I didn't know better, but IMD and MPD were introduced to me when I went to a Shure wireless training seminar.
Great job at reducing your RF challenges.

They're fantastic. I was initially going for the tried-and-true G4s, but man these EW-Ds are really something else, especially for engineers who are not really well-versed on RF optimisation. I don't know what exactly made the difference in tonality, but man... the first time I tried these EW-D, I instantly got that "high-end sennheiser" audio characteristic that you can't really achieve with just EQs and compressions. They're clean, crisp, yet soft and confident in capturing the vocals. Currently waiting for Sennheiser to release their digital line-up for IEMs
Dear sennheiser, if you're reading this: please release that faster.

No kidding! Jesse from Micrentals told me they sound better because they don't have frequency biases like analog versions do. They don't have any analog noise or interference to process out, so you get a much more full-range signal.

Hi guys can yall make a video on how to setup/adjust a keyboard to sound clean and all. I'm a beginner and want to get better at mixing. The vids are very helpful and I appreciate that. God bless❤

Are you using a midi keyboard running from software, or a keyboard with built in sounds?

We are currently in need of buying a new wireless handheld mic. I'm thinking about buying a handheld ew-d or buying an older analog ew 100 G4. We already have a G4 beltpack mic and in case something breaks it can work with the other receiver. Regarding that I'm leaning towards the analog G4. But on the other hand on multiple sources I've read that the sound quality of EW-D is marginally better.
Also I find it difficult to choose a good mic head. We have lots of wired Sennheiser's with a 845 head for vocals and are happy with it. But most people who are going to use the wireless handheld are using it for talking only, and don't have good mic placement discipline. In that case the 835 head sound like a better choice, isn't it? Or does that introduce a far greater chance of feedback?
It's hard to make choices like these if budged is tight. We have the money for a EW-D or G4 as they are almost the same price point. But you can only spend money once...

If you plan to upgrade more in the future, I would start transitioning to EW-D now.
In regards to the capsule, the cardioid 835 can def introduce some extra surrounding noise which may result in feedback. I'd recommend sticking with your 845's and just take some time to teach those that need it, how to have proper mic etiquette.

I bought a Sennheiser XSW system (digital wireless link for a guitar). I had no issues with sound quality, but the non-replacable Li-ion battery in that device quickly degraded (we used it maybe 10 times) to the point where it could not power the XSW for one church service. From an advertised 5 hours of runtime it dropped to 2.5 hours. So I can't recommend the XSW. The EW-D uses a battery pack with more capacity: a 12-hour advertised runtime takes longer to degrade to the point where the pack won't last through the service.

That's really lame that the battery crapped out on you so fast. These new EW-D batteries seem to be holding up really well.

There are plenty of cheap wireless mics out there, but that's exactly what they are - *cheap*
If you want reliable mics, your *low end* cost is going to average around $1000 per channel, once you figure in the extra hardware, like the antennas and splitters. And I've learned the hard way - always order a couple extra microphones (just the mic itself, not the body pack or anything). Because a mic cable _will_ break at the most inconvenient time possible.

Why do people insist on clapping on the mic they hold on their hands?

    • @collabworship
      @collabworship  7 месяцев назад

🤷‍♂ Guess they just really wanna clap. I don't care as long as they're not making it transmit noise.

I've used both, and I would say that neither one is noticeably better than the other. Celtic Woman uses Sennheiser wireless mics. The Gaither Vocal Band uses Shure. We ended up going with Sennheiser in our church purely because of availability issues. Shure couldn't deliver - Sennheiser could.
