Hey, Scott.. Great video!! I'm the RF Department manager for the largest touring sound company and I still watch your videos and learn things. I set up huge wireless systems with multiple Axient units for the largest artists on the planet and I agree with you. The Axient wireless system is as close to bulletproof as you can get. great video and keep up the good work!!
Thanks Jim! I appreciate that. And yeah, the Axient is definitely insane!
I watch so many gear reviews where people say stuff like "maybe I don't know I never read the manual". In your videos it seems like you *wrote* the manual. Great work, as always!
Thanks man, I really appreciate that 😊
His accuracy is unmatched in this arena. I remember a 5” mention that 1 product had more channel options than the next tier down. It took me 45 min and 2 manuals to verify. He was dead nuts on. I can’t play Vegas w the other product. Grateful for content like this
We are a Shure dealer, and this is one of the best Axient description videos I have ever seen. Bravo!
Wow, thank you! I sincerely appreciate that 😊🤘
You’ve outdone yourself, Scott. I feel like I’ve earned a college credit in audio engineering after watching this. Simply amazing stuff, and you make all of this technology accessible. Congrats and fine work.
Haha thanks Bill. I learned a lot while putting this together myself. I knew a good chunk of it, but now I know it even better 🤘
Glad to see you got around to doing this video, i really enjoyed watching it.
I've learnt so much from watching your videos the last year or so, keep up the great work!!
Thank you 🙏
This is amazing. Always love your attention to detail. That talk back option is revolutionary!
Thanks man! And yeah, I really might have to upgrade to get that!
I've been running 12 channels of ULX-D for about 6 years. Absolutely incredible system, and we leverage the Dante features of the quad receivers with a 10G netgear AV switch that connects to a A&H SQ-6 and a recording rig. We've never had a problem with it. I used it with a Midas M32 last year (again with the Dante interface) and the experience was flawless. I'd LOVE to go the the Axient system one day -- but it doesn't make financial sense to make the jump from the ULX-D to the Axient. Thanks for the in-depth review. Keep 'em coming!
Nice! Thanks for sharing. I definitely want to use Dante at some point in the future…. But with my Behringer X32r, I would have to remove the audio interface part of it to swap it out for the Dante card…. And I need the interface part unfortunately. Some day!
Great job Scott! I always learn alot from your videos 😊
Thank you 😊
SIMPLY AMAZING 🤩, GREAT JOB SCOTT AS ALWAYS! 💯
Thank you 🙏
Informative and impeccably produced.
Thank you 🙏
I’ve always been curious about this system. I mean I’ll probably never buy it, but still great info to know!! Thanks man!!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it 🤘
interested in wireless work bench video. thank you for this video. its an eye opener for me.
I definitely want to make one. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤘
Perfect. Thanks a lot!
Thanks!
Love your Babicz behind \m/ .
That’s my baby!! 🤘🤘
@@ScottUhlMusic It sure is. Also thanks for the amazing tutorial. I've just joined an Audio Rental company and was having trouble understanding the Axient System that we posses.
Yes I love the 57beta I got to used it At a corporate gig when I was a guest singer with the Luke O'Neils band in the Royal Marine hotel venue ballroom and it was at the GPS convention, which Luke O'Neil was speaking at and subsequently his own band played in the evening..
I really enjoyed that gig, was a lovely evening for me.. 57beta was really very punchy with a lot of high quality frequency sparkle detail on my top end.. I particularly liked it on Radioheads Creep which I sang lead on.. I'm currently saving up for a sennheizer e945 which I think might be even more detailed and has so I've heard a good gain level off the mic?
Anyways thanks once again for a very informative and interesting video..
Kind regards Vinn 😎 🎸 👍
Sweeet! Very nice system. I used to be an engineer at Motorola for their wifi monitoring product. I have been looking forward to wifi 6 and the possibility of using your phone as a transceiver. Audiofusion has got a setup using a laptop but I hope someone comes out with a complete dedicated hardware package. It sure would drop the price of going wireless.
It really sucks that's the world we live in now. My phone can easily do, checked right now, 50 Mbit/s over a consumer router on my LAN. You can easily push 35 stereo .wav streams over that crappy link, if I calculate correctly. No one should need to buy dedicated hardware for in ear monitoring - you have that already in your pocket. (unless it is iphone, then you need adapter xD)
awesome video my guy!
Thank you 🙏
Great video thanks !
Thanks!
OMG if someone would make that talkback button with some small automatic A/B switch rack unit, as a separate device for us regular earthlings, I would be soooo happy :D
Great video Scott, made me sad that I'm poor, but still well made and informative as usual ;D
Thanks! And I know, it's such a great design! I would definitely get one if I could. But I would need to upgrade to the X model. Perhaps in the future (or this summer when I play 135 weddings lol)
This Shure was a good video
Asking 1/2 way in to like the vid if we are still here? Dude, I like the video then I press play 😄
But.... Daaaang, that quadversity is really cool!
Hahaha thanks man, and yeah quadversity is nuts!
I had been waiting for this cant wait until you get to run it with your audio technica 3000 iem sytem and network thru wireless work bench
I plan to do a WWB video…. At some point. I still have to learn more about it
It's the system Taylor Swift uses on the biggest tour in the world! A friend of mine works at Shure and explained her setup to me. It's incredible.
Yup! That doesn’t surprise me at all 🤘
Finallyyyyy ❤❤
I know! It’s been a long time coming 🤘
@ScottUhlMusic totally worth it ❤️👌
Awesome video! You do a great job learning the equipment you review. This system is incredible! By the way, what's the phrase to get the free giveaway? ;-)
Thanks! And 😂😂 man someday I’ll be able to do an Axient giveaway! That would be awesome!
Great work. Workbench video plz
Thanks! And definitely plan to at some point
Holy shit! That's a crazy system
🤯🤯🤯
Replay! Great video as I navigate investing in (2) quads with combo transmitters per channel.
Nice! You won’t be disappointed with it 🤘🤘
@@ScottUhlMusic Yes, I don’t think I will be. My buddy has (8-10) channels of Axient Digital so far and tells shares with me how they work no matter where he is in the US doing corporate shows.
WOW have we hit the "premium" category and a price-tag that matches. But when you're a pro and doing a big-ticket show I'm sure it's paid for fast. Stuff for us small-show giggers to drool over though! Cheers!
Thanks for watching Andrew! And yeah, this is definitely the “holy grail” of wireless, no doubt!
Scott can you do a video on the Airwave Technology 4200 series microphone kit. I keep getting adds from them but don’t see any reviews
I’ll have to look into them, I’ve never heard of it
Very smart equipment to auto find a channel.
Yup, it’s definitely top of the line!
The Super Bowl is probably ALL recorded playback
Not necessarily for the musicians, but for the announcers and stuff like that. And I know the vocals are live at the Super Bowl. Chili Peppers admitted that they were forced to mime for the instruments, but vocals were live
mate, can tou give advice aboutportable wireless system for guitar and xlr mic? for now i hve joyo 2,4 ghz for guitar and 5,8 aroma arc-1 for xlr lavalier, and its fine for most of bars and restaraunt i work, but i wanna upgrade, because im afraid rhat ONE DAY it’ll broke and i have to buy new wireless system so o wanna be prepared and asking you about it (i need system with battery or it can work from powerbank)
My recommendations for wireless are here:
ruclips.net/video/Xi2JcMomjQ0/видео.htmlsi=z6cujtSepkRaDsP_
And you can use the MyVolts Ripcord to make almost anything be powered off of a power bank: ruclips.net/video/-RbykZwyzMY/видео.htmlsi=icvkIS72Sgf-MMe7
The wordclock terminator is meant to prevent any resonances happinh and messing up the takt of it. Like a dmx terminator
For audio? Or what is it terminating? Thanks for the comment! Definitely want to understand it
@@ScottUhlMusic its something specific to coax antenna cables. That resistor has to correspond to the impedance of the cable which for audio is usually 75ohms. I personally lack the detailed knowledge. Here is something ive found online:
When a digital signal travels along a transmission line, some of the energy is reflected back towards the source due to the impedance mismatch between the transmission line and the source. This reflection can cause distortion of the signal and reduce the signal quality, leading to errors in the data transmission. Termination resistors are used to match the impedance of the transmission line with that of the source and prevent signal reflections.
Hope that helps! But why that reflection and distortion phenomenon occurs exactly is beyond my understanding unfortunately.
Since wordclock is transmitted digitally to ensure synchronized operation cross audiodevices it is important to have that signal be as clean as possible. But usually when i happen to use axients i connect them via dante which then takes the clock from the mixing desk of your choice and does its own magic.
But i like the fact that the axient comes with the termination resistor built in. Some older devices dont have that.
Also on another note, i remember a light colleague struggling with operatin the last moving head of the dmx chain, which was doing random stuff. once we plugged in a termination resistor it started doint exactly what was intended.
Thanks for sharing man! This is still a bit over my head haha but I do understand the idea a bit more. Thanks again for the info 🤘
It's too bad you couldn't work something out with Shure specifically to do a giveaway. I suspect something like this at this value would make people come out of the woodwork to follow your channel. 😕
lol that would have been amazing!
@@ScottUhlMusic it's a missed opportunity for Shure in that no other channel even comes close to yours for wireless gear knowledge. 🥂
The Shure Axient is an excellent system. However, in terms of sound quality alone, the Sennheiser D9000 is unrivaled. It is the only one with linear PCM, while all others use some form of compression. Also, the D9000 can be used in compressed LR mode (which is basically the D6000 series, the D9000 but without the HD mode, just LR).
Additionally, I don’t understand people who use such a good system like the Axient with trash capsules like the 58. The 58 is a terrible microphone in general, maybe suitable for small gigs, but for anything else, it’s trash.
Additionally, the D9000 is an extremely expensive system. It costs over 100 000 Euros. First, you purchase the mainframe, into which components are added as needed. Also, it was released in 2010/11 and does not have all the options that the Axient offers...
I haven’t heard of that sennheiser system, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. However, tone is subjective. The Axient does sound amazing, and the 58 is an industry standard for a reason. I don’t think it’s an awful mic at all, but I do prefer my nexadyne for sure! I love that mic. Thanks for the comment 👍
I mean, why not $25,000? Or $100,000? Who cares, right?
Shure Axient are considered the top of the line wireless out there. It’s used by the Super Bowl, and massive tours. It’s worth every penny for what this thing does, but not every single person needs it, which is why I’ve reviewed all the other Shure systems too
Thank you for taking the time to do this reviews they’re very helpful. 🫡🎤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
100k subs by summer or I'll eat a bug 🪲
Scott, you should be a tech for some big famous band, until your band is a big famous band 🧞
Hahaha thank you 😊 I appreciate that 🤘🤘
