Scammers have shown up guys. Do NOT send anyone money who is claiming to be me. I will NEVER ask you for money. Period. I don’t use Telegram or Discord or WhatsApp. See the grey outline behind my name? That’s how you know it’s me. Do not respond to them…. Unless you are bored and want to mess with them and waste their time of course 😈
I'm no expert. But I'm pretty sure Digital wins all around. But let me watch first.... Basically, latency is the only issue. 2-3 ms is literary nothing. The average person won't even begin to start hearing latency until 15-20 ms. So still all digital. Knew it! I actually have been thinking about wireless. NuX B8 or EW-D.
Magic phrase "magic phrase" I have been using senn EW-300 for some years now. Never knew the difference between digital and analog. Interesting stuff. Maybe in the future I'll sell mine and bump up to something else.
Magic phrase Magic phrase Magic phrase Magic phrase 😂thanks for the knowledge , experience and the time to share your honest experience 😂Magic phrase Magic phrase 😂
Scott, I really appreciate your vids, I can imagine the work and research that goes into these. I learn so much. Your explanations, articulation and descriptions of some difficult topics provides so much clarity. I love the way you can simply things. It’s your “magic phrase”s that do it….
Great video Scott. I've always found it useful to think about latency like this: Stand 3 feet way from your amplifier while playing guitar - you are experiencing approximately 3ms of latency. Clearly not significant.
Interesting the phrase is 'Magic Phrase'. I live on Magic Moment Drive which I gladly include when you ask for my shipping address! As always great video. I'm one of those guys who likes it simple.
Magic Phrase. Thanks again for another great video! Filled in some holes in my knowledge, such as not realizing analog had zero latency. Gotta find a way to check out those digital IEMs! 🎉
You have so much useful information it's hard for me to make up my mind about a wireless setup for my four piece band. Magic phrase. I am poor but i'm really excited about changing the world with my songs. Magic phrase. I need in ear monitors more than anything else for the ability of the band members to control their personal monitor mix. My constantly changing band members absolutely have proved they need help to control their monitor volumes so the house can be controled by the engineers. Magic phrase. I plan to get digital IEM's for everyone in the band but I can't afford IEMs and the digital mixer unless one are both of them are less expensive but still portable. Magic Phrase
Cable capacitance makes a huge difference in feel I have found .. a gt tech said I could use an “un-buffer” going wireless (guitar of course) new to me!
When I was younger, my mother and grandmother used to say, what’s the magic phrase? And I would immediately say thank you 😂😂😂 I truly appreciate the content. Thanks for sharing.
great and very informative video. thanks again scott. i will definitely check out all of your videos. i am currently using the sennheiser ew100 g4 as an iem but i‘d love to use a digital one. unfortunately the m2 is a bit pricy. but maybe there will be more in the future. thanks again. also i‘d love to use wireless mics again. had to get rid of mine cause i needed money 😬😄. so "Magic Phrase". thanks scott 😄🙌
I remember older digital wireless systems not quite competing with analog in one spec: range. Of course, if you weren't using wireless IEMs, you'd be fighting against the 1/4 second delay of sound through air at 250 feet from speakers with either option, if you wanted to stretch it. I remember testing transmitter range in a larger room. It got to a point where I had to watch the drummer to keep correct time, because the audio from mains was drastically behind by the time I heard it. Again, with IEMs, not a problem at all.
Thank you so much for sharing this, this is the first time I heard about wireless system have a category of analog and digital, before that I thought all of them is digital, only cable is analog😂
Nope. Analog wireless essentially superimposes your audio signal on top of the carrier frequently. Analog chops your audio into 1s and 0s, and sends them across the airwaves.
Yep, Angus’ Cetec/Vega wireless rig had a signal booster in it. Some company recently came out with that boost circuit in a stand alone box, kind of like the EP booster is the preamp section of the EchoPlex. 😏
Very informative! I have a Shure SLX4 that I used for many years when I was playing guitar. I recently pulled it out of storage to use for my bass, but the signal sounds like it's about 75% of the sound compared to using a cable. I gave it a quick look but didn't really mess with it to dial it in. While it still might work, I have been looking into getting a new wireless system that I hopefully won't have to worry about or question, so your videos have been great. Before I forget, the Magic Phrase. Thanks!
Hey Scott, I have several good wireless mic systems but have been getting quick dropouts lately and when I scan it's saying no channels available. What's a good wireless mic system. I'm looking at that EV RE3 in the 653 range or the Shure QLXD24? My system 10 Pro's don't seem to like my wireless uplighting system. Thanks Scott
QLXD is one of the best ones for sure. Both are great mics, but QLXD is digital which makes that one win. I would watch my buying guide here: ruclips.net/video/Xi2JcMomjQ0/видео.htmlsi=N2Nvejp0Jsxs4DHu
Thank you is the magic phrase of the day! Appreciate you Mr. Scott for your breakdown of spectral efficiency in a simple understanding way. Keep'em coming! Having trouble with the rules... Ask Scott Uhl 😉
Thanks! And my understanding is digital goes through batteries faster, but as long as they last more than a 4 hour set, that’s all that matters to me personally
Your videos are so helpful. Started having issues with my Line 6 G50, Trying to find a replacement and your stuff has been super helpful. MAGIG PHRASE!!!
With my 90s band we play straight through (2, 3, or even 4 hours). We have a song for each member to pee haha. But 60minutes to start and then 45m after that is what I do in the corporate band. If we have a 3 hour set I often like to do 2 sets of 75min each with a 20 minute break.
I never even KNEW there were different types - I always thought everything was digital - so this was very informative and the breakdown of categorical results was clear and easy to digest as well. Iguess the MAGIC PHRASE today would be... "Thanks again for great reviews and info"!
MAGIC PHRASE? What could be the MAGIC PHRASE? Easy enough, MAGIC PHRASE. I've tried using the MAGIC PHRASE before but I never thought MAGIC PHRASE would be the MAGIC PHRASE. Seriously, I just realized somehow that I was already a subscriber. I saw this post when it was 7 hours old and after waking up watched it again. Yesterday when I was listening as I was working. As I drove, I would stop, rewind and watch sections learning. I watched your NAMM video, the making backing tracks video and how you use backing tracks. They were all MAGICal PHRASE's in each video. Dude, I'm 61 and have learned more in the last 36 hours about the new equipment out and backing tracs. Thanks for your post! And the MAGIC PHRASE!😅
Scammers have shown up guys. Do NOT send anyone money who is claiming to be me. I will NEVER ask you for money. Period. When I have questions about wireless gear, the magic phrase is "Scott Uhl". Thanks a lot!
😊 thank you!

Basically, latency is the only issue. 2-3 ms is literary nothing. The average person won't even begin to start hearing latency until 15-20 ms.
So still all digital. Knew it!
I actually have been thinking about wireless. NuX B8 or EW-D.
You are correct 🤘
Magic phrase "magic phrase"
I have been using senn EW-300 for some years now. Never knew the difference between digital and analog. Interesting stuff. Maybe in the future I'll sell mine and bump up to something else.
I hope more IEMs go digital. I’m very curious on those Lectrosonics ones. They sound so good!
Interesting that all IEMs are not pure digital. Magic Phrase
I believe they will start moving in that direction at some point

Using the magic phrase exponentially, is like putting a Bag of Holding inside another Bag of Holding.
Great video Scott. I've always found it useful to think about latency like this: Stand 3 feet way from your amplifier while playing guitar - you are experiencing approximately 3ms of latency. Clearly not significant.

Magic Phrase. Thanks again for another great video! Filled in some holes in my knowledge, such as not realizing analog had zero latency. Gotta find a way to check out those digital IEMs! 🎉

Wow the Magic Phrase is Wireless de-confusion
Magic Phrase - You do an awesome job and keep up the great work!
Have you got a magic phrase you say int a wireless mic when testing it? :)
Don't worry for nothing below 10ms of latency roundtrip in total.
Don't know when it will happen, but we do need more digital wireless systems magic phrase.
I remember older digital wireless systems not quite competing with analog in one spec: range. Interesting, thanks for commenting! I don’t see a huge discrepancy with range between the two, it mostly just depends on the system
the magic phrase is always thank you Jesus!
you’re a great teacher Scott, hope to win…. magic phrase
Awesome video as usual. Magic Phrase
Hay Scott. What’s the Magic Phrase ?😅

Magic phrase huh? This magic phrase is magical

Thanks! And yeah, as long as you like your system, that’s all that counts. Digital should give the most “accurate” signal though
Is it Magic Phrase, or Magic Frays?
The magic phrase is magic phrase...
The magic phrase seems reasonable :-D
another great vid, Magic Phrase
I feel like that magic phrase is a bit on the nose. :)
Tank you!!

Dude... Way to much info 😮💨. And I actually retained it. Lol
Love your videos, keep it up
Hahaha yeah I had to use that Chandler meme at one point when even I was editing this going “so much info!” 😂
Another Magic Phrase giveaway! Yay!
Dude, would you recommend the $70 phenyx pro pdp-2 (digital) over the $99 Phoenix pro ptu-52 (analog)?
Not necessarily, because I believe the pdp-2 is 2.4Ghz
Great Video! Magic Phrase
Magic Phrase is the Magic Phrase
Thanks for the explanation. My church is currently in the market for a wireless microphone system. Thanks for the magic phrase ...
Nice! It mostly depends on how many you use at once, but go digital if you can 🤘
Hey Scott, I have several good wireless mic systems but have been getting quick dropouts lately and when I scan it's saying no channels available. What's a good wireless mic system. I'm looking at that EV RE3 in the 653 range or the Shure QLXD24? My system 10 Pro's don't seem to like my wireless uplighting system.

Thank you is the magic phrase of the day! Appreciate you Mr. Scott for your breakdown of spectral efficiency in a simple understanding way. Keep'em coming! Having trouble with the rules... Ask Scott Uhl 😉
Much appreciated! Glad it was easy to understand, I did quite a few re-writes to make it as easy as possible 🤘

Awesome! Thanks, and glad you like the wireless 🤘
Magic Strawberries? (Fraise) Thanks for another informational vid! What about comparing battery life between A/D?
I love my Helix and HX Stomp, but the Line 6 wireless stuff definitely is not my favorite. Mostly because of 2.4ghz
Hey Scott..I have an unrelated question.. what do you see now for time wise what people want how long a set should be.. 45min, 60 min?…curious
With my 90s band we play straight through (2, 3, or even 4 hours). We have a song for each member to pee haha. But 60minutes to start and then 45m after that is what I do in the corporate band. If we have a 3 hour set I often like to do 2 sets of 75min each with a 20 minute break.
