I love how you do just enough to bring things from the past and resist the urge to make them better than they were, it's amazing. I'd love to see a video displaying all of the items that you have restored, with before and after images.
Very interesting how similar the design is to modern equipment like fiskars hatchets. Today we use fancy teflon coating and fiber reinfoced plastic, back than it was metal for the whole thing! And this axe has a straight grind as well!
Excellent work. It's nice to see the base metal conserved. Having said that, I would have also used a mild rust dissolving acid instead of all the dremel work. Then again, I'm not doing the work and posting quality videos. Nice job, amigo.
love these old tools. as if they were built for eternety (imagine them being taken care during the years instead rusting away in ...who knows where)...
Excellent! I consider this more of a preservation than a restoration. Preserving history.
Thank you! There are different types of restoration)
Nice Job. Careful using salt as your electrolyte, it creates chlorine gas. Safer to use baking soda.
Yep. It does fit with the WWI theme though
@@bdong21 bro, chlorine gas is poisonous (ironically used in WWI) and there are a multitude of other ways to produce an electrolyte.

I always find it amazing how much rust you find/dig out, after electrolysis. Very thorough! 💪👍
Great restoration. Good luck on your next project. 👍👍

Круто балістол працює. Я купив рідину для вороніння на розлив. То працює на багато повільніше
Так, балістол швидше реагує, але різниця не особлива
Клас,історія збережена.
That’s looks, if I’m guessing correctly, like a 1915 trench axe
вам обов’язково потрібно придбати піскоструминь,
багато хімічних процесів відпадуть самі по собі
Вітаю! Сьогодні я перший )
Why not do a second electrolysis after cleaning and inspection?
Where do you find all your pieces to restore?
I find most of them with a metal detector. Here is my second channel where I show the search for artifacts www.youtube.com/@ArtifactDigger

You are good.
And I like Somebody who knows how to restore.👍💪
From Germany.
How do you aquire all these relics??????
I find them. On my second channel, I show how I search www.youtube.com/@ArtifactDigger
Does anyone else think this looks like a middle ages halberd head?
Exelente restauración!
What is the black stuff you put on the axe
Cold bluing liquid, often used for gun restorations. It creates a rust-resistant surface on metal.
