This is exactly what I grew up with, had to go to the shop to get the leather washer when it runs out. The top looked different and the flame was spreading away from the center, if I remember right. A good one, gave us a lot of easiness from having to burn wood. Thank you for the memories.

No they are very safe since paraffin won't burn unless heated first. I used one in a tent for years.
