My boyfriend and I read the rules 2x, then watched many Azul tutorial videos and yours is the best BY FARRRR! Finally, I got to understand the game in ONE shot - thank you!
Thanks for taking your time to walk through the game at a pace a newbie would be starting to understand it. You're still helping a lot even years later :)
This is one of the clearer tutorials. I’m wondering what triggers the end of a round? Do players keep collecting tiles till someone doesn’t want anymore?
Great question. I think you'll find the answer at 4:45 of the video. Players must collect tiles on their turn (they can't choose not to take tiles), so the round ends once all the tiles are gone.
I was getting frustrated about 12 minutes in saying mannn this game sucks this is too complex but as I stick with it…it actually is simple and fun. Thank you for such a great simple explanation I don’t feel stupid now
why would anyone pick more tiles of a color? E.g. at 8:26 you say a player may pick 3 blue tiles, why would anyone do so, knowing they have only 2 places to fill for blue? Does it mean from the table in the centre if I pick any color I have to pick all tiles of that color? also when would a player move tiles to the table (i.e. left to right side?)
When choosing tiles especially near the end when there's very little left, players are sometimes forced to take the best of what's left. Other times, players may be willing to lose 1 or 2 points if that means they can complete a line to gain a larger number of points, especially if you know it's the last round. At 3:51, I mention that players must take all tiles of the same color from the factory display. That includes the centre of the table (which acts as its own factory display). Did you mean to ask when does a player move tiles to their respective WALLS (left to right side?). That happens in phase 2 (10:42) after all of the tiles have been drafted and placed on their lines. Once all tiles are gone from the factory displays, everyone simultaneously moves their tiles to their respective walls.
Hi!! Nice tutorial, thank you!!!I have some questions.. 1)When a player complete a horizontal row which means the end of the game, then the game stops or all of the rest players complete the round(and score? 2)The game ends when the first horizontal row completed..So how can we have more horizontal rows in our wall and score them? 3)May i guess its impossible to complete all the wall? Thank you for your time!!!
Hello: 1) When a player completes a row, the game continues until the end of the round with scoring, and then all players calculate their extra scoring (rows, columns, and colour sets) at the end of the game. 2) It's possible for players to complete multiple rows within the same round, especially since you continue playing to the end of the round even after one player completes a single row. 3) Not impossible but VERY unlikely. If you do, then you should claim the Azul crown! :) Enjoy!

I watched many videos but yours stands out. Well explained, no annoying music and no shortcuts.
Joel T. Thanks for the feedback. I’m very happy you enjoyed it. I’m looking to make more of these.
I have viewed many AZUL rule videos and yours is the best thus far. Nothing is vague or left out. Keep it up. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't have any microphones at the time, so hopefully future videos will have improved sound quality.
