My friend is really disappointed with the goat deck since you didn't play any actual goat creatures. Like if you don't want to play all the meh ones at least play pathbreaker Ibex

@@CardmarketMagic That reasoning is horrible. To get a tribe and then play 0 creatures from that tribe is lame. It's not a goat deck rather it's a fog token deck that just happens to make goats. The others all played creatures from their tribe even if they were bad

@@Kiyen9001 It was actual 2v1 and some goats graze around, which became suddenly strong. This is what happens when they are overfed.
It's almost like he flamed out.
I hope there will be more of these Randomly Selected Creature Tribal videos. It was hilarious watching everyone try to make them work.

Hey Moritte is cool af. I love how he used it to make Reflections of Reflections of Littjara. I know Orvar is a flashier shapeshifter commander from Kaldheim, but Moritte was a good choice for his deck. But yeah if Remy didn't have the Goat of Arms and survived another turn or 2, he probably would've started popping off with the combo of Atraxa and Felidar's Retreat.
Thoralf knowing the pain of every commander player who pops off just a bit too early and Remy knowing the joy of every comic relief commander player who mops up the remains
I wish you guys could do more stuff with MTGRemy! I know it's hard to coordinate with people in the US like that, but you all seemed to have a great time working together. Great channel, us viewers can tell you really enjoy making these videos. (Or you're great actors!)
Having Remy over was truly a blast. He's so funny! We might invite him again over in the future, but we already have some great guests lined up this year that I hope you will enjoy :)
There's 13 actual goats and they're all Naya. I could see adding black for woe strider. Maybe go 5 color morophon
Remy dropping that Goat of Arms at the end was legend. I kept saying to myself that he needs Coat of Arms, but I didn't think he'd be crazy enough to put it in his deck when everyone else was also playing tribal. He was a real mad genius there.
He did say he plays fogs so all he would need is to have someone swing out fog the attack drop the coat and ggs

42:15 the Altered Ego is already in the battlefield as a Bull Aurochs, so the Glasspool Mimic will enters as a Bull Aurochs, Altered Ego only have the ability to enters as a copy of something when is not in play
That's what I thought. I came down here to post that.
Usually you ignore all effects when copying something so it's an understandable mistake
And shouln't both have been copied twice? Or am I missing something that stops them from being copied?
@@Gabriel64468 Altered Ego was a Bull Aurochs. So when he tries to copy it, Glasspool Mimic will see the card he's choosing as Bull Aurochs.
However he had Glasswork Mimic come into play as an unaltered Altered Ego so he could clone the Phoenix.
Look, Jamin may not read the cards or follow the rules sometimes but it doesn't ruin the content or anything so I'm fine with it :D
We really, really, really need a goat commander! I've always theorycrafted one, but had to settle for satyrs because of how little goat support there is!

For some arcane reason Zedru is a Minotaur.
To set it apart as a leader of goats it should definitely have an improved stat line, I suggest 0/2. My suggestion for the ability is to tap it and 5 other goats you control to turn any plains into a wastes

@@thevp_ssb. I once saw someone play it in an Ashaya to bounce his Avenger of Zendikar and it blow my mind, but I don't play mono green so I don't know how good or bad could it be in general
@@Wabiman70 it still provides decent utility, but even Guildless Commons is arguably better, as even though it is strictly two colorless mana, it at least isn't as strict with it's bounce requirement.

I was hoping the whole time someone would be crazy enough to drop a Goat of Arms and was definitely not disappointed when it happened!

So today I learned, the true enemy for phoenixes are a coalition of distracting goats, pre trampling auerochs copies and - when they finally arrive - overrunning turtles. No phoenix will ressurect after that.

Thrull tribal seems pretty good, actually. Not like, GOOD like Elves but better than a lot of weird tribes

I mean. I guess he didnt know it. If he had it beforehand woule make no diffrence he should have played it earlier. If he just drew it than well...

I got so outraged. I'm glad someone noticed.
When you copy a permanent that is copying a different permanent, it will take on the characteristics of the originally copied permanent, so Jamin would have continued to make more aurochs with Glasspool Mimic instead of copying Toffels commander.
Another note is that if you somehow manage to get a clone on the battlefield without it copying something else, any permanent that enters as a copy of that clone, will just be a 0/0, the Clone's replacement effect will not take place.
I'm not convinced on the cloning a clone ruling there. A clone's copy effect is a replacement effect and a replacement effect can cause an unrelated replacement to apply to an event it wouldn't have (or cause a replacement effect. The rulings for Clone on the gatherer specifically state that "as [this creature] enters the battlefield" and "[this creature] enters the battlefield with" abilities still work which are also replacement effects, so there's no reason that you couldn't say clone a blank Quicksilver Gargantuan and then copy what you actually want but as a 7/7 this time.

So clearly on the last turn, Carl and Jamin truly became the men who stare at goats.

Jamin's timing on reminding Remy that his enchantment enters tapped was so perfect.
Love this video! Obviously, one creature type was much stronger than the other.
Some noteable things:
- Myriad Landscape enters the battlefield tapped
- Jungle Basin needs to bounce an UNtapped land. So Carl can't float mana with the returned Forest
- Regarding Thoralf's Miracle Turn: Howling Mine and Braids trigger at the same time, but because of active and inactive player, Thoralf would draw the Howling Mine-Draw before he gets the mana from Braids. As he activated the Deck of Many Things in response of the Howling Mine trigger, there was no way (I think) to pay the black Miracle card with the Braids mana, because there was none yet. And Thoralf wouldn't have been able to cast Fervent Mastery.
- If you clone a clone, the new clone will become what the clone on board cloned. In this case, Jamin cloned an Altered Ego with an Glasspool Mimic, the Mimic clones whatever Altered Ego cloned before (the Auroch, if I am not mistaken)
You actually DONT trigger Mine and Braids att the same time. Braids is upkeep, mine is draw step
See this is why I don't like backseat rules needs on MTG videos: You're wrong. Braids triggers on upkeep, howling mine triggers on draw step.

The black miracle was also off of drawing two from "Deck of Many Things" which he activated during upkeep.

@The Phorgotten One you should really avoid using the word "cheat" in cases like this as it really looks like you are accusing someone of being devious to get an advantage. Jamin in this case simply did not realize that Myriad Landscape enters tapped, and we all missed it as well :) luckily, none of us cares because the point of commander is to have fun, which we did plentifully

The lotus field comes in untapped because of my commander :) that wasn't a misdplay. The jungle bassin thing though is true. I could imagine that card was actually that bad 😅

Way to go, Remy! This highlights both the importance of piloting an underwhelming deck and the strategically correct way to play Coat of Arms with an established board presence for a massive alpha strike. Also highlights leaving blockers for the crack back and respect for the fog effects. I'll bet Remy's full grip had another couple in there... which means his deck had a solid plan to win with his goats. Very impressive.
That was a fun game! It was cool seeing how everyone made their (mostly) jank themes work! The Shapeshifters copying Reflections and Aurocs was super neat.
getting to watch Remy play commander really made my week. please get him on for as much content as possible.
I think the video was well produced and not over produced. The choice of decks was interesting.

We didn't know Remy was playing so many fogs. We were all so puzzled as to what all the cards he was not casting in his hand would to 😅 it was quite a surprise
Turned out exactly as I expected for Thoralf, his deck was obviously just so much better than the others, they just had to gang up on him haha, poor Thoralf.

The aurochs should have been 7/1’s. The +1/+0 ability did not see itself, but only the other five. Thoralf would have lived one more turn

19:23 jungle basin: when jungle basin enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you return an untapped Forest you control to its owners hand. carl: "i float 1 green mana."so the forrest is not untapped. soo....sacrifice the jungle basin then.
19:24 be careful with the old bounce lands, Carl wouldn’t have been able to float the green mana because then it would be a tapped forest and therefore unable to be returned

I had a bunch of Aurochs from drafting Coldsnap on MTGO and decided to make a deck with them. I played Ardent Plea, which was always a sincere prayer for a cow and always granted.
I want one of those Myriad Landscapes. Mine always seem enter tapped for some reason 😂

To clarify something about the 42ish minute, the copy value of a card is what is printed on a card UNLESS that card entered the battlefield as something else: the altered ego was an auroch and its copy value was that of the auroch it chosed, So the glasspool mimic do not enter as a altered ego to then change into anything but would be the same thing altered ego selected to be when it entered.

The Goat Master missed something that doesn't really do any to the outcome: As he used its Fog effect and then populated due to Anointed Procession, he actually has to create 2 token (as Populate creates token and Anointed Procession copies any creation).
This just proves that Remy is the GOAT, awesome game.
