SHÈ IS À BEAST! I have adored her for 30 years, every single note she ever sang!
She’s on my Mt Rushmore of greatest vocalists.
Man,that woman’s voice is pure 🔥
My favorite artist of all time! Such a legendary unique artist, she took the world by storm in the 80’s with her signature smokey smooth sound! Don’t know if even Anita realizes how many young singers she influenced ,even Mary J Blige told her onstage how much she wanted to sing after hearing Anita’s music. After 30 years it’s still my dream to meet her and take a pic with her!
Such a mighty voice for a little lady. Remember when this song hit the air waves. WOW, what a voice🎼🎤
I saw her live in the early 90s.. everything about the show was just beautiful, elegant.. memorable! The set, the band, the sound mix, the props. Her dress. And of course, her voice!! Fantastic!!
The LEGENDARY Iconic Ms Anita Baker aka Sweet Neet ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She's so amazing. I was lucky enough to see her perform back in 1986. That voice is incredible.
I recall this coming out in 1986. I heard it on what was called the "Quiet Storm" back then. I bought the CD and I still have it today. Thanks for reacting to the live version. I had never seen her perform live. What a treat.......
The amazing Anita Baker with that smoky jazzy voice. Another super talent from Detroit. Love her records. Thanks Harri.
I believe she lived a few houses down from my Aunt Elaine on Lakeshore 🤔🤗
So, I'm on an Anita binge and was happy to stumble upon this. Her voice is just soulful, rich, and beautiful . Love her. Perhaps, you should also give the songs from her Songstress album a listen. "Angel" happens to by my favourite Anita song.
One of the best female singers of all time!!A songbird of my younger years ❤️❤️ Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵 USA
A more soulful voice has never been.
The only modern artist ever to remind me of Sarah Vaughan.
I had the privilege of seeing her at Wemberly in the 90s.
Saw her live 5 times back in the 80’s and 90’s. Wow- absolute perfection!
You get the same thrilling gusto even in this live performance! Magnificent!
I fell in love, again, with the idea of falling in love when this came out. Fantastic album. Nothing came close in terms of setting a mood.
Heavenly/ And a wonderful backing band!
How many chills she gon give me..damng
She is awesome, awesome awesome.
What a voice,beautiful!
I moved to Asia in my 30s and Anita Baker from then on was my go to late night romantic choice - and nothing else - One of the greats!
Isn’t she wonderful? I’ve seen her live and she puts on a great show.
Well, well, well Harri, you sure are reacting to a huge amount of my favorite songs.
Bravo, Harri, Bravo!
Play this and I can close my eyes and picture her - and know it's real....
A truly soulful artist of whom I saw in concert after she took a 7 year hiatus to have and raise her kids.
What a great voice. The whole album was good.
What a great singer!! I had all her music! ❤❤❤
You know , there was Barry White on the men's side, and Anita Baker on the females side. Such passion in her voice. Definitely, one of the best.
A deep incredible tone to her voice. Adore Anita!
So glad to see someone reacting to this great singer.
This entire concert film - "One Night of Rapture" (Constitution Hall, Washington, D.C., November 9, 1987) - is incredible. I had it on VHS back in the day. You can find the whole thing here on YT.
I still have my VHS copy and on DVD, and I was there when she came to Memphis that same tour, amazing!
I was at this live concert and it was phenomenal and then my brother bought me the VHS not knowing I had attended this show. I never get tired of watching 😍❣️😍❣️😍❣️
One of my favorites
I love this song and the tone of her voice is almost hypnotic! (I also had a crush on her when this song first came out!)
❤❤the sweet sound of soul and beauty❤❤
Hi Mr. Harri, A great, great singer of Ballads.. I got to see her in person, I think it was 2014.. ♠W.G.
Great song, never seen it live. The Rapture album is breathtakingly great. More please!
Magnificent!!!
Oh I do love Mz Anita...ruled my R&B world.
What a great vid, not seen this one, awesome!! 🔥❤🥳
Classic!
She is the main writer of this soul hit song.
What a voice! 😃
Suggested video 📹: Same Ole Love 💘
A great cover: Gigi de Lana. She is from The Philippines 🇵🇭.
Wow !
What memories this song and the album bring.
Very impressed with your reviews of so much American music.
Her other big hit was "Giving You the Best That I Got"
LOve this singer and my favorite song of hers is No one in the World,
Amazing! Absolutely amazing performance by Anita Baker, and I really enjoyed your reaction. 5 stars all the way around.
omg this live performance is FANTASTIC actually better than the studio recording and i ADORED that one WOWZA! thank you for doing this one, harri! ❤
Another artist from Detroit, baby!
Giving you the best I ve got, should be your next, another amazing track!
The bassist is Gerald Albright. Although he's a groovy bass player, bass isn't even his main instrument. His main thing is sax.
When I saw that you were reacting to her, I knew you would love her! What I didn't realize you would already know who she is! But that's what I really admire about you! You are already familiar with many artists or songs you react to!
@Angela Jake M I figured Harri knew this song, Sweet Love, too. But what I hoped to do to Harri when I requested these songs was to wow him with this live version.
@@pncombies You certainly did that!
the voice
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks! 💜
I discovered this song from someone in university. Loved it!❤. Listened to one of her albums over & over (never heard this version either!)
You are so right about Anita and when I saw her it was her first concert back, at The Westbury Music Faire. She was so nervous that it took her about fifteen minutes to come out. I could hear and feel her nerves at the beginning of the first song and she took us all over soon after. One of the very best!
Saw her in 88
HIGH HARRI.... Anita Baker is one of my favorites. Check out.... "No One In The World" Official video. Great Stuff.
I would love to see you react to Donna Summer. Are you into her? I’d like you to start from “Dinner with Gershwin”, what do you think?
To all the Gen X’rs, millennials and Gen Z’s, THAT is what real singing sounds like.
Indeed. But Gen X grew up with her, her hits were in prime of most Gen X listeners into 20s by mid 80s when she really took off, into 90s and early 2000s when her hits kept coming. Is new generation catching on to her talent too. No one like her
Millennials grew up with our parents listening to Anita Baker! All of my millennials peers know her music and still go to her concerts…
You know this song Harri
You really need to react to Pavarotti and James Brown its a mans world. you will go crazy.
Stephanie Mills too.
Detroit, of course.
Us fellows loved when she wore her patented mini skirts and a lot of the women hated when she did!
Thats who Mary J. Blige was trying to be.
She's good in her own right though.
I love Anita Baker. A shame she had to put her career on hold to raise a family.
