Yes, the 80’s - this song was featured on the soundtrack for the classic movie Krush Groove! The Force MD’s were highly underrated. They were one of the first groups to overall entertain singing, rapping and dancing. You should listen to their songs Love Is A House and Here I Go Again - bangers!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes Ashley, this is the original and they had some nice songs with their Harmony and the lead singer. Antoine "T C D" Lundy died of Lou grig's disease. Trisco Pearson I believe died of cancer. Jesse Lee Daniels passed away and DJ Dr. Rock died of natural causes. May they all rest in peace 🙏🏾
I seen these brothers in Germany back in the day perform and they sound exactly like the record…… Majority of the group members have passed away so RIP to these great brothers.
One of the most underrated groups of all time!!!! They were hip-hop pioneers and tore up the R&B and Pop charts as well with those sweet silky voices. Most have passed on. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
My freshman year of high school. I was still 13. 1985-86 school year. Great memories. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis said they just threw this song together in a rush for the soundtrack to Krush Groove! This is before we really knew who they were. They went on produce Janet Jackson and the SOS Band.
Your awesome! You belong in the early 90's late 80's. I was born in 70'. So grow up listing to my parents music from 60' and 70'. Then I got to be there for the best music era ever!!! Made 3 babies (maybe more) with my mix tapes and great music!!!keep doing what you do, your doing great!
R.i.p. force md's if I'm not mistaken, all have gone on t glory, they were so young, and so talented, t.c. was a newer version of smokey Robinson at that time, it seems like they were put here for a short time for a special mission, may we all appreciate them for their gift they shared with us ❤
Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam one of the greatest r and b producing teams wrote and produce this classic song. No cussin in the song. Play "Here i GO AGAIN' the long version.
After working all day it was a blessing to see The Force performing on the ferry. "We came to the party about one o clock to take out all MCeeees!!" Shoalin, NYC
One of the most recognized love songs of the 80's, released in 1985. Everybody was playing this for their lady. Was from the sound track from the movie "Krush Groove". Check that movie out on your movie reaction channel.
I have been watching your reactions to songs for quite some time and this is the first time that I have ever seen you tear up. You had me tearing up. God Bless You.
They actually started out as a Hip-hop group that had a hit with "Itching For A Scratch" but they could also sing! There unsung story is so tragic! These brothers were truly talented!! Another group of brothers that were truly talented is "Full Force"!
one of my favorites...So Talented and Underrated . Their song "Here I Go Again" & "Tears" Really showcases their vocals. Sadly most members have passed away
Fun facts. Same guys who wrote can you stand the rain for new edition wrote this as well. New edition was supposed to record this song first but I think the label blocked it.
@@chrischreative2245 yea, this song is in the movie krush groove and was made for the movie. They wanted new edition to record it but it was so much work going through their label that they decided to have force MD do it instead. They were still able to get new edition in the movie though for a cameo. It’s a video on RUclips of Ralph singing this on one of their tours a while ago.
I'm so glad you appreciate the real music from back in the day. This group was one of my very favorites. Listen WITHOUT interruption to get the best impression, like it was for those who first heard it on the radio. Absolute magic! 💖🎵🙏🏾
MD's stands for "Musical Diversity'. The decade of the 80s gave us the last era of true R & B groups and artist who sang what used to be called "Soul Music". There were recording artist who could actually sing whether in the studio or live in concert. Around 1986 one of the last of these groups The Force M. D.'s emerged out of Staten Island, N.Y. with the song "Tears". In 1987 "Tender Love", a song also included on the "Krush Grove" soundtrack and "Love Is A House", ensured them a place in music history as one of the last groups to successfully fuse Do-Wop and R & B. Although there were a few like R. Kelly who continued to keep R & B alive, in reality, R & B music died in the 90's and was buried by the cross-over general market success of Rap and Hip-Hop music. The Force M. D.s who were discovered while they were actually singing for their supper on the Staten Island Ferry for tips. They were extremely talented. Every member of the group could actually sing and their harmony was tight. 4 of the original 5 members are now deceased.
I THINK BOTH THE PIANO & THE AMAZING VOCALS ARE A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!!!! THE GROUP HARMONY & LEAD SINGER FALSETTO,,,, ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!!!!🎤🎤🎤🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
You need to get into Patrice.Rushen a very talented singer song writer and Music producer you need to listen to the songs Remind me, forget me nots, and also high and me. You will not be disappointed , get your pen ready!!
Can we please get back to this kind of music black folks!! We have pumped ourselves out enough for garbage. Let's bring back 90's type music and stop disrespecting each other and ourselves ( men and women)😊
Yoooo! This is most definitely fire… One of Staten Island’s finest groups, without a doubt. Very happy to see more people covering this one, thank you!
This is a sweet little song. Tender Love by the Force MD's is from 1985 so I think it is the original! Most of these 2000 and later R&B/HipHop songs are remade/remixed in some form or another.💖💖
Hello Ashley, I just recently came across your channel. I wanted to tell you that I enjoy your reactions when most others I don't, because you have heart, intelligence, and obviously some wisdom as you seem to be blessed with some great women in your family. So many people of the Modern world are foolish and insufferable. Thank you for the warmth and light you bring. It takes someone of quality to appreciate quality.
Bone Thugs N Harmony also took a sample from this song and used it at the beginning of their song Days of Our Lives which was on the soundtrack for the movie Set It Off.
They were the force MCs first then they became the force mds very very underrated group most have passed away definitely should’ve been wayyy bigger imo
This was my group. I was in JHS when they came out. They were like a newer Doo Wop/Hip Hop/R&B group. Love is a House and Here I Go Again are my favorites.
Back in the day there was a thing called 'biting' that referred to stealing another person's style, moves, music, etc. When the West Coast gangster rap prevailed a lot of the old beats were 'used'/sampled from other songs and it became a typical theme. Now there is a big copywrite problem and everybody's granny is being taken to court. That's why the originals have so much weight. Also, the originals had a certain kind of meaning behind the song as well. Things have become twisted-a lot. And it has changed/damaged our society and way of life a lot as well. ⭐
Ashley Thanks So Much For Reacting To Baby Face, Force MD's & Jodeci, I've been Trying To Request Those For Months With No Luck😢 But Here's Another 1 By Jodeci That You're Gonna Love 👌"I Wanna Do Right" I've Been Doing Wrong For So Dam Long & "Shhh" By Telvin Campbell 👍& Here's 2 For The Ladies 👌"Guess What" By Syleena Johnson & "Make Him Do Right" By Karen White, Just To Name a Few, But There's So Many More I'll Keep Trying To Request 👌
I was in high school when this came out. I told everyone that I was going to conceive my children to this & "Careless Whisper" by Wham...lol Never had any children, but this is STILL my jam!!!!
Since you're unfamiliar with them, it would have been nice if you could've seen the video, but they have other songs too, so you can still get the chance.
To add, that people didnt teuly appreciate the vocals, background vocals and complete arrangements going on. Harmonjzations are syncroninized, yet it wasnt enough. OMG. SO SEXY!!!!!
It appears it was not a remake, but someone who used part of another person or groups song portion in their own song. This is referred to as SAMPLING. Beautiful song!
'Lady' by One Way. One Way was also a great group during that time. The lyrics and music combination in this song always tugged at my heart and made me cry, too. ❤
The Force MDs are overlooked because they blended the 80s R&B and the burgeoning hip-hop culture. Sadly, most of the group has passed on. They had some good upbeat songs as well. You should check out "Forgive Me Girl", "Here I Go Again", "Love is a House", "Touch and Go" and "Couldn't Care Less. Tender Love was probably their biggest song and it had the most lasting power. But they were quite hot for a bit in the mid 80s.
It was a different time back then. Hearing this song at my Granny’s House in the mid 80s. These were young fellows who were smooth vocally. Today just about all the original members are deceased. 😢. Things are nowhere near the same as it used to be.
Looooove, your voice is really apparent that you're a singer and i hunger to hear your every take on REAL vocalists. I do like reactions, yet i love it better when people truly appreciate not only the vocals, but the arrangements accompying it. I get the sense that you have at least the basic common senses to convey it to your audience. I choose you as the premiere voice of song listeners.
