So glad you liked and appreciated this song. I can't wait to play your reaction for my husband, Peter Beckett. The seventies and eighties great music. Gino Vanelli I just wanna stop is another great one from 1978. Gino was invited on Soul Train by Don Cornelius himself.
Ambrosia is much more mellow softer music, they really didn't have the same rock beat as Player. Player reminds me more of like Chicago, without all the extra instrumentation. Or maybe some of Breads more upbeat songs
i almost started laughing. you were so blown away by this, but for me growing up in the '70's this was everyday radio. THIS was the type of music that we, as teenagers, listened to every day of the week. it was so wonderful that i stopped listening to much radio in the '80's, and in the '90's i totally stopped listening to the radio and started listening to only pre-'80's stuff because that was the only really good music i knew.
I was born in 76, loved growing up with 80s music ( *real* music, LOL) and listening to my parents' oldies because I had to (I know a *lot* of 50s/60s pop) but I was driven away from popular music early in the 90s too. I loved Nirvana, but hated Pearl Jam, and hated more the 5000 Pearl Jam sound-alike bands that followed them. After Top 40 bands started sucking, I moved between classic rock, punk bands, nerd rock like TMBG, and 90s rockabilly/ psychobilly bands. All of these are fun, but outside classic rock, no-one notices their existence anymore.
I wish I could go back and re-live the 70's all over again. Best decade of music ever. and the best time of my life. No wonder the younger generation is so entranced with the music of our era. Todays music is overproduced and lacks great lyrical content. Britt was absolutely right when she said that they knew how to make great music, great singing and great lyrics and put it all together. And it was all before autotune.
You are hilarious! These boys sang. I saw them the same week I saw Hall and Oats. I thought my brain was going to melt. You are correct. The vocals, instrumentals and lyrics of the 70's is unmatched. Love that you appreciate it.❤
4:45 - Britt, what he said was, "All day long, wearing a mask of false bravado", meaning he kept smiling and acting like he wasn't bothered by anything. But as soon as the sun went down and he was free of having to put on that "brave face", the emotions came flooding back.
@@stevedaulton9655 One of the lyrics. Where he owns up to putting up a "brave face" like nothing is bothering him while he's around other people. But once he's alone, he can finally relax and show his emotions because there is no one around to see it.

I'm almost 70 now and grew up in the seventies. They say most people think the music of their era is the best but the more reactors I watch it seems they like the seventies music as much as I did. Britt, great reaction. I am 59 and was a teenager when this was released in 1977 - so I lived it! I was there. I just wanted to point out to all those who were not alive or old enough to remember the 1970s. All these recording artists (like Player) in the 1970s were young people in their 20s when they created this amazing level of contemporary music. Yes, they were ALL in their 20s! Young people. It's important to point out because yes, they are all "elder statesmen" (and women) today in their 60s and 70s. But as you listen to this song and watch the video, remember that this is the level of musical excellence they had in their 20s, when they actually created this music from scratch. Amazing! Thanks to lead singer Peter Beckett and all the other band members for this gem and classic. For the record (no pun intended), this song was number 1 on the Billboard hot 100 in January of 1978 for 3 consecutive weeks. Yes, it was a BIG hit! Enjoy! Cheers, Sam.

Player is a British-American rock band that made their mark during the late 70's. "Baby Come Back" was their biggest hit in 1977. They also had some other songs such as "This Time I'm In It For Love".
1970's was the best decade for music EVER! There was something for everyone. Decade started with Motown being very big, and rock was taking hold. This type of slower ballad type music grew big and later in the decade there was disco. REAL country music was here. Dolly, Willie, Johnny, Merle, Conway, etc. Bubblegum came and went during the decade. There was something for EVERYONE!
I keep playing this clip and can't get enough of your reaction. As a high school senior in '77 I can't agree more that we had some of the best music to hang out to on the radio everywhere, everyday.
Yes a very popular song in its time. And yes the bass player went on to play Ridge on the Bold and the Beautiful. I think I might have even heard it on a commercial or two in recent times. This is the good stuff we listened to growing up in the 70s and 80s and it’s so good that people of today are getting into it ! Music was great back then and people of today are understanding that now and I think it’s great!!
The music in the 70's were the best i was going through School during the 70's. Music was my go to during that time of my life because the year 1977 I lost my little brother to Cancer he was only 5 years old and died a month before I graduated High School. GOD BLESS YOU AND EVERYONE🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎤🎤🎤💙💙💙
It's called talent and hard work. Vocals, harmonies, lyrics, musicianship, song writing, ... A very dated song, but a supreme example of the era. So well put together and performed. I like the way the lead singer continues a note after the harmonies fade. A classic.
I was born in the early 70's. You're right, the music, no matter the genre, made you feel good. I treated music like a religion. The music got me through my school years.
It's hard for an old man like me to imagine there are people who've never heard this song, but when I was 15, this was the shit. Your reaction was priceless!
The 70’s was the best of everything to consume. Music, clothes, furniture, hair and pure class. I’m a 80’s baby btw, now 42yrs old. There’s a refinement that happened in the 70’s, hasn’t happened since.
I'm the same way, but from a different decade. I'm a 90's baby that was raised on the 80's. Both my parents were teenagers in the 70's, so they exposed me to music from the 50's to the 80's.
I was in 12th grade when this song came out. And trust me we were in love with this song. The best times ever were back in the day. Thank you for loving our music.
Baby Girl you listening to some music that never gets old, those songs bring back a lot of memories just hearing them takes you right back! It's good seeing people enjoying some of the stuff from back in the 70s and 80s. They had some of the best music and those days ! And I wanna see you in the bellbottoms 😉👍
The lyrics you didn't understand is "all day long, wearing a mask of false bravado" is a way of saying pretending not to miss you even though I do. Not too many groups use such great and educated lyrics like they did back in the 60's-70's-80's
Peter wrote that line because he remembered his Shakespeare from his school days at St. Francis of Xavier in Liverpool. In one of The Bard's plays, he uses false bravado to describes the scared soldiers about to face death in battle.
False bravado can also imply the macho type---you cannot hurt me! I am afraid of nothing, nothing! The bull in the arena. Bravura. Brave. Also, must say I greatly enjoyed the reaction video! Britt, you added another piece to the song--- run away emotion. I felt it! Love your voice, btw.
I do declare young lady. I believe you have a case of the vapors! Players Anthem. That killed me. This reaction is at the top of my list for "Reaction of the Year"!! Loved it, RNB
I just found your page last night. I’m 43 and I’m genuinely happy for you to be enjoying this music. Love how u respond to these vids. Keep up the good work!
I was born in the late 60s, so I grew up with this music. I still love listening to the music of the 1970s. It gives me my mellow. It works better than alcohol to calm my nerves from a hard day's work. ✌️😊
Britt, I skipped this video several times. I actually thought it would be boring, lol. This is hands down your best reaction yet. You're so beautiful, too 😊
This song came out in 1977 if I'm not mistaken. I was 8 years old. This is a classic. I hear songs like this and it takes me back in time. Because of it, I sometimes get emotional.
The memory that always comes to mind for me with this song is on the school bus in 6th grade in 77-78 timeframe. It was Belleville, Illinois, and the bus driver was named Dave. He had a one speaker radio he hung from a hook on the dash. Seems I would hear this several times a week that school year while riding home.
Britt , fun fact : Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates said this is their most requested song from the crowd at their live shows ! And to be honest for a very long time i also thought it was a Hall & Oates song ! !
Same for me and I don't know bout you but I was lucky to have two older siblings by more than a few years and that definitely caused my exposure to 70s music to start at a very early age, thankfully! At ten I was rockn out to Meatloaf, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, Player, Orleans, Styx, Bread, KISS, Little River Band, The Eagles and the list goes on and on! Of course I liked "my own" music to which included Disco because I loved to dance and clearly that's what it was for. I'm so glad I grew up listening to 70s and 80s music and thx even to my parents for putting me on to some great Doo Wop as well!!
@kimdawcatgirl He had several solo albums,, But if you happen to mean the album with his hit "Don't Shed A Tear" on it,, That would be his "One Good Reason" album.
I was born in 1971, and I feel so grateful to grow up with such a wide variety of music and eras, and now I have passed that down to my adult kids, my son who has such an appreciation for music is a dancer who now does that for me with new artists I would NEVER here unless he did, so I guess we just kept it going full circle.
These songs came out a few years after I got out of the service and helped me adjust to being a civilian again after Vietnam . The 70’s were a magical time to be alive .
Great song, Great reaction. My girlfriend and I used to cruise in my van along the beach in Florida back in the late seventies with this song turned all the way up. Music marks time.
You said "I would want God to rewind time and place me in the 70s." I totally understand. And you're adorable for thinking like that. Because I WAS listening to this music in my teens during the 70s as it was being released -- Player, Queen, Eagles, Billy Joel, Carol King, Hall & Oates, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Doobie Bros, Donna Summer, Carly Simon, Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, Elton John, Earth, Wind & Fire, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Van Halen, Joni Mitchell, CCR, James Taylor, Chicago, Rolling Stones, and Boston etc. And it was absolutely AWESOME!! In fact, I will never leave the 70s. Nothing stands up to that era today!
It was GREAT living in the 70s and 80s But you live your life in it now through music. It’ll change your mood, your attitude your Life!
Mostly the 70s though lol

Omg!!! I remember listening to this AMAZING music as a kid. Grrrreat 🎶 🎵❤❤❤
70's music hits different. it had so much soul.
Born in 1966. Great memories of listening to 70's music. Those days are gone forever and I miss them. Stay safe!
Me Too!!!!!
I was 14 years old when this song came out I am Now 62 and Still Love This Song it never gets old 😊
Same!
Same here music today sucks
“Oh you better sing boy” was hilarious. What a great song!
The 70's was a Renaissance of rock music. One band after another created the most amazing music. It's so good it still stands up today.
Love your appreciation for the great music of the 70’s, you are an old soul that loves the soul!😁
There was something for EVERYONE!
the 70s was magical time to grow up to see/live the evolution of music and moral standards were still high on the list. I miss my 70s
Britt's amazing beauty, personality, and reaction perfectly fits the song. Perfect synergy. Otherworldly. ❤
I keep playing this clip and can't get enough of your reaction. As a high school senior in '77 I can't agree more that we had some of the best music to hang out to on the radio everywhere, everyday.
Britt your an angel I love your reactions and you have one of the most expressive facial expressions your a genuine doll!!!!
I’m 63 years old and this song played at my school dances back in 1978-79
Yep born 1961 same feeling here ... and these young people still believe they invented something .
Same! Same born year🎉
@@ripvisitorsame, born in ‘61
How could you not LOVE this song. Yes, it embodies a '70s hit!
Player absolutely Nails this one. Great harmonies. Great sound. One of the best songs of the 70s
Tu lo dijiste chica Britt.. Esta canción lo tiene todo y no puede faltar en tu lista.. Disfrute tu reacción 🎶🥰🎶
Loved your reaction! Makes my heart happy when people see the magic we had in the 70s!
I was born in 1962 so my music molding teen years was 70’s music. My dad introduced me to some 60’s music, which I love but nothing beats the 1970’s!!
Same here born in 61 70s music 🎶 awesome miss the 70s 😊😊😊
Yes a very popular song in its time. And yes the bass player went on to play Ridge on the Bold and the Beautiful. I think I might have even heard it on a commercial or two in recent times. This is the good stuff we listened to growing up in the 70s and 80s and it’s so good that people of today are getting into it ! Music was great back then and people of today are understanding that now and I think it’s great!!
Yes...I was wondering whether @BrittReacts noticed Ridge, from The Bold and the Beautiful. Lots of ppl overlook that.
The harmonies are AMAzing!! I love this Song! + I love your Description! Yor CoOoOL!!!
Love your review. You appreciate smooth sounding instruments/lyrics/ and voices.
No rap. Just music and word from the heart between a MALE AND A FEMALE. ❤❤
So sorry for your loss of your little brother
I am so grateful every day that I was a teenager in the 70’s! There will never be another time like that. The music was phenomenal.
It's called talent and hard work. Vocals, harmonies, lyrics, musicianship, song writing, ... A very dated song, but a supreme example of the era. So well put together and performed. I like the way the lead singer continues a note after the harmonies fade. A classic.
A great song like this never gets dated. It just gets better with age and takes you back to when music was music.
An eternal R&B classic- never dated!
Will NEVER be dated!!! This song is STILL 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@gerardohanlon6025. This song is like fine wine. It gets better with age.
masterclass!!
“I’m about to faint.” BWAAAH! Best reaction video I’ve ever seen. And this banger is well worth the react. ❤❤❤
This is the best reaction video I have seen yet. Love the honest reaction. Player was the 1st one I viewed. I am hooked now.
Britt, you nailed it at 2:19 - The 70's were all that and a bag of chips fo real 🤩
You'll LOVE the group AMBROSIA with songs like "How Much I Feel", "Biggest Part of Me", "You're The Only Woman".
Massive crossover hit. Everyone loved it.
Can’t forget about those 70s bushes
Been listening to this Jam since the 70's, yes over 40 years and has never gotten old!
I was in 12th grade when this song came out. And trust me we were in love with this song. The best times ever were back in the day. Thank you for loving our music.
Not only was the 70’s a great decade for music, but the engineering on these albums was just breathtaking.
I grew up in the 70s. Still my fave Decade by FAR!!!!!!! Music, film, tv, comedy. 1976 Bicentennial, Disco, Punk...
The best Decade to grow up in by far!!!!!
💥 refreshing seeing this younger generation appreciate what truly brilliant music was in the 70's. SHALOM 🙏
Yes, it is a lovely song. It's been years since I heard it. Easy on the ears and relaxing.
I'm happy to see you enjoyed this band and song. Up next you should check out Ambrosia - "Biggest Part of Me" and "How Much I Feel."
Me Too !!!! 😉
Britt , fun fact : Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates said this is their most requested song from the crowd at their live shows ! And to be honest for a very long time i also thought it was a Hall & Oates song ! !
I was a kid in the 70’s teen in the 80’s. Best times and music ever. No doubt. I was glorious!!!! So many awesome memories.
One of the few songs that got really heavy rotation that i never got tired of....
Reminds me of being a kid in the 70s going to sleep every night with the radio on. Luv it
A MUST HEAR 70's Classic,, Ace "How Long" 🔥..Nuff Said.
Awesome choice!
Yes! Paul Carrick singing!
@kimdawcatgirl Exactly..Same with Squeeze "Tempted" is also Paul.
@@happymethehappyone8300 I had his solo album that I can't think of the name offhand that was great as well!.
You are adorable!!! You're appreciation of talent is amazing!! 👊🏼👍🏼💪🏼
You have a new fan!!!
Music of my High School and college years.
These songs came out a few years after I got out of the service and helped me adjust to being a civilian again after Vietnam . The 70’s were a magical time to be alive .
Desde Chile escuchando buena música recordando el tiempo pasado y feliz que los jóvenes de hoy la disfruten también.
The lyric was "wearing a mask of false bravado." Great reaction Britt!
👍👍
❤In my opinion, one of the best sing-a-long songs EVER.
Great song, Great reaction. My girlfriend and I used to cruise in my van along the beach in Florida back in the late seventies with this song turned all the way up. Music marks time.
This was your BEST video yet!
Excellent job.
Thanks and enjoy...
